This publisher asks, "Can anyone give me ideas what I can look up for her?" My answer: phone numbers for marriage counselors.
Maybe the husband is doing this because she is studying?
the other day a bible student who is married said she found out her husband is sending msn messages and email to women saying he want to have relationship with her, and indicates he is single.
my student asked me if sexting or sending emails talking about sex grounds for a divorce in jehovah's eyes.
i tried doing reseach on this but i can't seem to find information about sexting.

i only recently found out that there was a new songbook 'released' last year.
i came in under the old pink flexi-cover one.
then in 1984 that oversized 225 song brown one came out.
And they did take out that song about "Precious gifts from God our children are, a possession to train.....They are gifts from God. He says 'use the rod'..."

as a sister especially you are nothing when not attached to you husband.. this made me curious.
Billy, the $ is a definitely a factor. At one time I was in a rather low-income congregation but everyone knew I was not only single and a MS but also made a lot of $. Most of the ocngregation had 15 yr old cars whereas mine was within 2 years old. Had single sisters showing up at my house all the time. Many would keep calling on the phone. Age didn't matter to them - I had $ and that's all they cared about. Some were 15 or 18 years older than me, others were 15 or 18 years younger than me. Older sisters would try to match me up with their nieces or other single sisters. I would keep telling them I don't want to get married, I just want to shack up. They would stalk me. I'd be under my car changing the oil on a Saturday afternoon, and they'd drive over, come and peek under the car.
thought i'd share this as this is a typical example of the kind of letters i get very occasionally from my jw family.
in this instance it was sent as my daughter had spent some time in hospital.
note, very little information in terms of family news.
If I were to receive something like that I'd wipe my hiney with it and then send it back to them.

I was still in when the book was released. It was a real turning point for me.
I happen to be a musician, studied Music Compostion and Theory in college (pre-Witness of course), played more than 10 instruments, composed music, and had 5 years of Voice training to become a singer. So I "know" music. When I got this new songbook, I could tell that the entire collection had to have been composed by one person or a very small group of persons working together. Also I could tell the music was very chant-like; it was not beautiful "art" that evoked feelings and emotions, but rather, it was empty and hypnotic chanting. Sort of like when military troops march, they have chants that keep them focused on their marching. One person shouts out a line of the chant, then the entire squadron repeats it. We did it in the Air Force. It was kind of fun, actually. We'd make up chants. Some were a little humorous. You might be familiar with this one:
We're in the Army now.
We're not behind the plow.
We never get rich, we never can quit.
We're in the Army now.
So this is how I perceive the new songs. Chants to constantly reindoctrine the rank and file witnesses.

It could be that he has a "worldy" girlfriend.
I remember being single and over 40 and having sisters calling me, showing up at my door at all hours....some in the congregation wold ask why I am not married. I would reply that I don't want to be married; I prefer to shack up, but then I wouldn't be allowed to give pubilc talks.
i finally desided to leave the witnesses therefore my family and basicly everyone and everything i had ever known.
i was 19 about to be 20 and i had just finished my first semester at a community college.
i was shocked at the respons of my father and others about me attending college at first they were ok but behind my back they were pretty much betting on my failier.
Welcome to the group, Stephanie. You are a brave, strong woman. I commend you. You are a fighter, a survivor. You took that first step of breaking away from toxic association (family, organization etc) and no longer have to squeeze yourself into their mould. You no longer need their permission/approval/forgiveness for being you.
Now you can be you.
When I was a MS I used to mention that from the platform. I'd tell the congregation to look around, take note of who is missing, and call them yourselves to tell them you miss them. Don't leave it up to the elders and MS, because if we go on a shepherding call and tell them they are missed, they will reply, "Then how come no one calls me, no one visits me..." They know the elders and MS do it because it's part of their responsibilities. But when you call or visit, they'll know it's because you "want to" (referencing Jesus' words "I want to").
here is a link to their main site.
http://www.ucg.org/.
i've read a little about them and they do not believe in trinity, and have similar believes as jehovah's witnesses.. they also try to keep all ten commandments, in addition to that.. i did not research all their doctrines, but a lot of them look familiar to me.. what do you think?.
They teach that masturbation is a sin.
They are pretty much a different version of the JW's, except that the Church of God practices tithing, and they celebrate certain festivals. They don't go door-to-door though, but instead they use the internet and other means for spreading their message.
Interestingly, I looked on their website for local congregations, and found only phone numbers, not addresses. Where do they meet? Sounds secretive to me.
i thought this would be easier to examine if written down:.
god's kingdom will soon come.
so we know that god's kingdom will soon come.. .
So now the "generation" consists of Group 1 and Group 2".
At next year's convention, the new light will be that there is a Group 3, and for 2013's convention there will be Group 4...Group 5...maybe there will be 144,000 "groups" of groups of discerners, basking in the light, pawing the ground like fattened calves.....
