No two eye witnesses needed there
Yes, they made the Witnesses seem like a mellow bunch.

has anyone ever studied the salem witch hunts and trails.
what i found interesting about these, is how people who claimed to be peaceful, could get so riled up, that they were willing to kill people.
the spark that lit the fire was often a rumor or false accusations that got out of hand, or perhaps a misunderstanding on a issue or people thinking they saw something they didn't.

I personally know what this is like.
It is a hurt I would wish on no one!!! Sorry it happened to you.

We all have to remember the "Special Needs Talks" of the Kingdom Hall days. If you do, then you remember that if the elder talked about something other then the societies selection, it meant something happened in the congregation. What I always remember about this, was all the turning heads and whispers as the talk went along. You know the, "I heard something about this thought" and the "who was it" looks. It was a great example of people trying to use their brains to figure out the mystery with only a splattering of clues. Of course, after the meetings and away from the Kingdom Hall. People would talk out loud about who they thought it was about and make theories on who was involved. The problem was, more often then not, they were wrong. Being wrong about something never stopped any Witness from forming an opinion. So people would take what facts they thought they knew and decide they knew who was involved and give them a little private mental judging. In doing so, often innocent people were marked or left out of things, when people labeled them privately as trouble makers. My wife one time found out a issue came up, and later people thought she might be involved. In fact, she knew nothing about it and was not even aware of the people talking about her. When it did finally come to her attention, she was very hurt and even cried that people would think such a thing about her, without talking to her about it first. Never underestimate people with so much paranoia in their ranks. In any group, I think we all worry about ourselves and the actions we take. I think inside we always worry that someone might affect our world in a negative way, so we watch out for signs that bother us. The problem is, often we allow others to raise our guards falsely with accusations based on nonsense. Thus the hatred and prejudice running through our country right now with Muslims and people of Arab descent. Not because the individual did something, but because our government has shown these men to be dangerous in news broadcast and warnings. It is really frightening to see how small thoughts can turn into huge movements of hate, and history is a huge lesson in this regard. Even during WW2 our country thought Japanese Americans were a threat and locked them in camps. Even though they were actually Americans and born in this country. I don't know why I thought of this tonight, but it just came to my mind. How we can assume so much about things, and think we have it all figured out. In doing so we can offend, harm or even destroy another person. It might not seem like a big deal to us, but if and when it happens to you. You will understand! I hope I always remember to think, and never assume based on false information. For kindness to me, means we hear all the facts and still leave the judging to someone else. My thought Dragon

recently i was watching a documentary on this woman who claimed that she could heal people with the power of her mind.
the documentary went into interviewing people about their experiences, and many of them actually had medical signs of improvement that could be documented and shown.
while watching this, i was seeing it as a example of psychic energy healing someone?
I will elaborate now. I do not hold John Edwards, or Silvia Brown as people I admire. Although I know they are in the spot light a lot and thus they get mentioned often. I don't really care much about what people say on them, as they are just not in the same line of thinking as me.
I have a hard time when people will say something is completely wrong, when they have not taken the seminars I have taken, researched what I have researched and experienced what I have experienced. For example, if I tell you I live in a cabin near a river in the woods. You would accept that for face value, but to truly believe it you would need to come to that cabin and see at that I described in person. Otherwise, my frame of reference is more grounded in what I am talking about then yours. Because basically, I am there and you are just seeing it in words.
I study two methods of psychic energy and healing. One is Huna, which is Shamanism from the Hawaiian Islands. The other is based on the Silva Ultra Mind System, based on the research of Jose Silva. Neither of them are a religion, only a philosophy. If you do not feel it, then you do not believe it. I also practice some methods of Wicca, and other Shamanism methods. The majority is Shamanism. All of which have nothing to do with Silvia Brown or John Edwards.
So like I said, I was really just trying to offer a added thought. Those people can make money off of their abilities for years, and people will question them all their days. In all, it will never affect me.

as i went about my wifely duties today, i had a thought and would like the imput from some former brothers and/or elders, ms, po, co's.. since leaving the borg, has the way you view your wife/companion/daughter/sister/mother changed?
let me elaborate.
while being brought up a dub, i was taught that women were in subjection.
My wife is equal to me, and sometimes even in charge. ;) Of course, she was before too. I just acted like I was. LOL

You did not offend me and no one on here had. I have been busy at work and was on here at the time. (bad boy!) I did not get to put a full thought into it.

PS : I am just shocked this thread I started has gone on so long.
one of the few unfounded (i think) accusations that have been thrown at me by certain people is that i have caused 'untold damage' to the silentambs cause.. i don't know quite what this is supposed to mean or what i'm suppoed to have done or whether it is anything more than just 'mud' flung by people who find it easier to criticise rather than actually do anything.. over the last year (is it?
) i've been happy to promote the silentlambs cause and have hosted links to bills site and vidoes / sound files of tv programmes, radio reports, photo's of the march etc... as well as providing a place for people to meet and arrange things.
i hope it has been useful and helpful to at least some people.. if i have inadventantly held things up in some way then i unreservedly and wholeheartedly apologise.. all i can say is, i do my best and may not always get things right.
(blond moment ... misunderstood a comment) LOL
Amazing how the hair does that. ;)

.
when those of you became an elder, or even perhaps a person of responsibility in the congregation, what did you become aware of that shocked or suprised you behind closed doors, out of the sight of the rest of the congregation, that you would not have known if it were not for your position?.
I mentioned some details to this in another post. I would like to add, the main thing ...
"Elders and Servants did everything they told you not to do!!!"
Meaning they were sometimes worse about things then anyone on the congregation was. Only difference, "they often got away with it!"

Sorry you find my thought so disturbing. So I guess what you are saying, is that if I do not agree with
you, I must be wrong.
Glad I do not feel that way.
