For some reason I believe this goes beyond self insurance. The Watchtower is into business, as they are with investing JWs money in stocks.

Why wouldn't they be into insurance of stuff? It's a profitable business, really profitable, and they have all the money they need to grant the neccesary "basic" for the business.

In fact, they have billions which are "unknown" to "anyone".

WT's UN excuse

what stops the boys in crooklyn from simply saying: "look, we don't know why so & so filled out this form to become a ngo.

we, the governing body didn't know about it and as soon as we did we removed outselves from association with the un.

Well, they know their members are braindead - but they just can't take the chanse 100% are absolute fullblown idiots. There just might be a few that would start asking questions by such a stupid explanation.

After all, this is an agreement made between the Watchtower and the UN, and as in other business projects, there is only a few people who can sign for a company....

I would believe that's the fact even in a Window Cleaner business - which is why they can't risc that explanation. :)

I also happen to know the Watchtower is investing peoples money in the stock market. I had a contact who told me about individual JWs who had invested up to 150.000 USD!

They run a pretty slick business, don't they?

The Automated Export System (AES) is a joint venture between the U.S. Customs Service, the Foreign Trade Division of the Bureau of the Census (Commerce), the Bureau of Export Administration (Commerce), the Office of Defense Trade Controls (State), other Federal agencies, and the export trade community. It is the central point through which export shipment data required by multiple agencies is filed electronically to Customs, using the efficiencies of Electronic Data Interchange (EDI). AES provides an alternative to filing paper Shipper's Export Declarations (SEDs). Export information is collected electronically and edited immediately, and errors are detected and corrected at the time of filing. AES is a nationwide system operational at all ports and for all methods of transportation. It was designed to assure compliance with and enforcement of laws relating to exporting, improve trade statistics, reduce duplicate reporting to multiple agencies, and improve customer service. AES has the goal of paperless reporting of export information by the year 2002.

Watchtower Air

no flight plan was filed and visual meteorological conditions prevailed.

On June 12, 1995, at 1530 Alaska daylight time, a wheel equipped Cessna 402B airplane, N710WS, registered to and operated by the Watchtower Bible Organization and Tract Society, collapsed its nose gear while taxiing back after landing. The business flight, operating under 14 CFR Part 91, departed Good News, Alaska, and the destination was Tuntutuliak, Alaska. No flight plan was filed and visual meteorological conditions prevailed. The airline transport certificated pilot and the three passengers were not injured and the airplane was substantially damaged.

According to the Director of the Watchtower Bible Organization, who was also a passenger on the airplane, they were taxiing back to the ramp after landing. The runway had just been graded and a small depression in the runway's surface was filled with soft material. The airplane's nose gear rolled into the depression and the nose gear collapsed.

The Director of the Watchtower Bible Organization stated that the soft area on the runway had been marked with yellow cones. He stated that the runway maintenance person told them the cones were removed so the runway surface could be graded. The cones had not been replaced.

There were no NOTAMS (Notice to Airmen) issued. The Alaska Supplement, however, states that runway conditions are not monitored and that a visual inspection is recommended. The supplement states that there are dips and ruts to 4 inches deep.
