100 years from 1914. We should all hold up a giant sign that says "Business as usual" and "Nothing happened STILL and I told you so" HAHA!

How long until the WT Society gives "new light" about the Internet?
by DagothUr inthe watchtower and awake have given some warnings in the past concerning materials available via the internet.
apostate and porn sites, violent games, useless and frivolous entertainment, and so on.
for now, they are contended with just giving friendly warnings.

Your guess is as good as mine. I'm sure its only time before the GB force control of JW's being internetless. As far as it being new light, I don't think so. Just a new rule.

A Possible Reason Why Some Want To Be Jehovah's Witnesses
by minimus ini think some want to be witnesses even if they know some of the teachings and views are questionable because they feel special!.
if they get a "privilege" or are allowed to pioneer or allowed to preach from house to house and be "ministers", they feel like they are somebody.. what do you think?
?.

Whatever the reason is it's all psycological. Weather its HOPE for seeing their dead loved ones again, or not having pain anymore, or just to have an organization protect them from the law when they molest their children. People look at just the reward of the paradise as like a life time retirement where their worries of today are gone forever.

One of my sisters moved to brazil for a few months to learn portugese so she can help out one of the portugese congregations in Ma. I wonder if she saw any of this?

Ex-JW Resources
by brotherdan indoes anyone have some good ex-jw or current jw resources that are free and online that they would like to share?
i know that one thing that helped me greatly was hearing mp3s by the late great bill cetnar.. i though this thread could be a place to save as a favorite and keep for whenever you need some reminders about why the organization is so wrong and how to build yourself up.. here are a few sites i've come across that have great audio and video resources for us:.

Lots of places have meetups for EX-JW's or fading JWS check your local area under meetups for ex-jw's. Anyone is invited even if you are a JW or studying to be, or a ex JW. Its not an apostate group just a support group with some great people.

Biology: A (Mostly Fun) Challenge
by TD incan you name this plant?.
the subject of evolution and the question of why one would believe that various living things are so closely related that they sprang from a common ancestor comes up fairly often.
very strong opinions are expressed.. i thought a visual challenge might be fun .

Every publisher must pay for assembly costs???
by sacolton injust saw this posted on watchtower uncensored .... .
want to hear the latest debacle?
the po in my mom's congregation told them that at the next 1-day-assembly it will be the responsibility of every publisher to put 3 in the box towards the running costs at the assembly hall.

I know my sister goes to the assemblies and can barely afford the extra time off work. Nevermind the cost of Hotels, parking, gas, food, ect. I asked how she thinks she's gonna afford the cost of just going and she says, "Jehovah will provide." I just looked at her puzzled. Now I guess she'll have to put money into the contribution boxes too. I guess just being there isn't enough.
