"Albert Schroeder about this, (I was curious about Dave Wetzler's case) and he said that at Bethel if some young guy started partaking they simply observed him for a period of time, and if he measured up to normal witness standards he would be slowly accepted.'
'I have friends who are still active, in that Cong, and they laugh about this guy,"
This always interested me, that there are those who feel qualified to judge and decide just who and who is not really 'anointed'. Even in the Bethel they do it. I personally don't believe a word of the doctrine that there are 144000, but I still think it displays an incredible arrogance that a body of Elders, and other members of the congregation, should be deciding whether THEY accept if someone is anointed or not.

Jesus is the 'fine' shepherd or is he the 'Good' Shepherd
by Anony Mous inread john 10:11, 14 in the wtbts bible.
then read it in just about any other bible you can find.. .
i am the fine shepherd; the fine shepherd surrenders his soul in behalf of the sheep.. vs.. i am the good shepherd.

I thought he was a carpenter......as for it being a metaphor and futher defined by 'good' or 'fine', since in that verse he was referring to himself he could call himself anything he liked and I doubt he would have been so pedantic as to worry too much over the exact word that would be used later in English (in the original Greek it is not wrong to use fine or good - neither is an abuse of the meaning of the word).
Finally, the proverb is silly really, since a dead shepherd cannot protect his flock in the future, so by 'surrendering' his soul on their behalf has then left them open to any kind of danger afterwards, if you think about it.

Did Jehovah really prove his sovreignty?
by keyser soze inbefore the issue of sovreignty came up between god and satan, humans were in a perfect state.
then adam and eve sinned, and satan challenged god's right to rule.
god took satan up, and allowed humans a chance to prove that they could govern themselves, independent from him.. but first he inflicted them with sickness, death and imperfection.

@lifeisgood "I told you not to talk to me. Please respect my wishes."
This is a public forum. If you don't want to read the posts from a particular user, then just don't. You are not obliged to respond.
By the way, I totally agree with what you wrote. No parent would do this, and you put it very well, so don't get disturbed when someone presents a lesser reply in the format of a challenge. Just ignore it.

One thing the WT got right was the Trinity being false.
by miseryloveselders ini swear only a fool would believe in such a ludicrous doctrine that all three are one.
ridiculous..

“A divine Person is a non-interchangeable existence of the divine nature.”
@Jonathan you presented your argument really well, and what you wrote had some interesting pseudologic.
But, in the end it really does not matter if a fantasy god character is one, or is part of a trinity of fantasies.

"So yeah, I've cheated big time on the service reports since I realized the Watchtower is a fraud."
I know from reading the other posts that I am firmly in a minority, but I don't think it's cool that you are lying, at all. If you don't want to be a pioneer, do the honorable thing and resign. The elders are gong to keep on your case as long as you have placed yourself - yes, placed yourself - in the spotlight.
I pioneered. The odd thing was I hated doing it too and it was a relief when I stopped. But lying? That's the cowards way out, imho. And at the moment it's not only the Watchtower that is a fraud, you are too.

Nisan chart in Feb 1 Watchtower
by jws ina couple of local jws dropped off some magazines last week and i'm browsing through the 2-1-2011 watchtower.
on pages 23 and 24, they have a chart showing the days leading up to and following jesus's death.. something struck me as weird.
along with the nisan dates, they have the equivalent date for this year.

The messiah was Ernie, and he drove the fastest milkcart in the west, while the king of the north fought with the king of the south and a warning cry was heard coming out from the east. It's all in the Bible, you just need to 'interpret' a few passages.

You are just lucky you already left the Org. before going to Cyprus. Imagine an arrogant Cypriot with a dose of Elder power and you can imagine the result! The funny thing is all JWs are supposed to be non-racist, but the Cypriot JWs hate the Foreign congregations and will go out of their way to assert their petty minded authority over them. So be glad that you had already left.
