You won't be DF'd for celebrating a birthday, but, you might as well be wishing your microphone privilledges away when you blow out those candles.

Birthday celebration/participation
by Zana inmy wife is considering to let our kids participate, maybe even celebrate their own birthdays.
she says what can be so bad about just giving a little kid (who doesn't yet understand the bible) a day full of joy and happiness?
she herself actually delayed her own baptism as a teenager in order to celebrate one more birthday.

I'm afraid I'd be single for life
by ohnightdivine inthis is quite embarrassing for me to share, but as a 30+ year old single female i have lingering doubts as to whether i can still meet a decent man and get married.. you all know how difficult it is for sisters to find an appropriate partner in the congregation.. and now, all the more so that i've learned ttatt.
i still am bound by low self-esteem, and i do have trust issues, especially with men.
i am very lonely and so i just keep myself busy with work to avoid depression (although it is also a great source of stress).. any other single females out there having similar thoughts?.

Pretty soon the work in China will break out, and you may have a chance of someone from China. Hang in there.
Sorry, I shouldn't make lite of your delema. You never know how the future unfolds, It helps when you don't think too much about it. Think about the misery that couples are now having due to making desperate choices.

What's this???? Some of you are not now still 100%. You should march right back to your COBE and hand in your resignation. This aint no Disco, It aint no Country Club, either. This is L.A.

Who Will the Circuit Overseers "Report" to Now???
by RubaDub ini still do not understand the new structure at this point.. there has to be something between thousands of co's and the gb.
i know there were zone overseers that the do's reported to.. i have spoken to a couple of elders i can talk to frankly and they both said they have no idea.. rub a dub.

Good question, Rub. I believe you have found a glitch in the system. With no one to answer for/to they will have no control. When the cat is away the mice will play.

80 Year old COBE Layoff Conspiracy
by XBEHERE inwho else thinks something is afoot with this?
is the gb deciding to go back to pre-1971 times with perhaps the cobe as the man in charge and the rest just ministerial servants.
so for this reason they want younger men in those postitions?

I think it gives people hope. Most of the COBE's are a pain in neck/ass. I think that this birthday will be celebrated behind closed doors with the greatest of glee.

I enjoyed many days in the early 70's when I was workin in FS with my wife to be. We had some nice walks in Autumn, in those small Quebec towns. We had great conversations with the simple people from those towns. Perhaps none of them became JW's, but, they were friendly to us. Was it a waste of time? Why do I look back at those days with pleasant thoughts? I often think about those small towns and want to revisit them.

What's this? A new meaning for those two scriptures.
Now, we shall follow you, for now we know that you have the truth.
