@fokyc and others, who I want to understand that for me it just was a freaky illustration regardless of what it was supposed to depict. Being that it was from the german edition it was hard to get an accurate take on the point of it, but as I say it is just total wierd. The way it translated for me was "What animal did you have Jehovah brought as a sacrifice?" So what did the hobbles mean. I had posted and then just got back to the thread now, and was surprised a bit at some to the comments. But, and I totally understand, each to his own thoughts.

Well maybe the "good laugh" was misleading a bit. We all realize how foolish to characterize the activity, whatever it was, as preaching. Here we have a man who is of an age, with life experience, who
still has the immaturity to tell the story of his life and suggest that he was "preaching" at the age of five. He is a looney cult member. Sad!!!

Don't ya just love it. He didn't even understand all that was involved, but four months later was dunked in what seems like must have been a frigid pond. I don't doubt the veracity of this story, just think it
speaks to the idiocy of this cult. And yes, at one time I thought they were wonderful and could not err.
When they asked me about it, I replied, "I
don't understand all that is involved in baptism."
Father overheard me and was surprised.
From then on, he made extra effort
to help me understand what baptism means
and its importance. On a very cold day four
months later, October 1, 1940, I was baptized
in a pond outside of Chattanooga. -

page 4 THE WATCHTOWER ? DECEMBER 15, 2011
Baptism and Full-Time Ministry
In 1940 several in our congregation rented
a bus and traveled to the convention held
in Detroit, Michigan. A few in our bus group
got baptized there. Some wondered why I
did not, as I had been preaching since
the age of five and was very active in the
ministry. -

which is a real government in heaven, will soon bring an end to all wickedness and transform the earth into a paradise. (from current watchtower masthead or whatever)
I don't understand how or why some on the board (even flipper) suggest "many years" were bought with the overlapping generation. They still say soon. I don't think they were trying to create a lengthy extra time period, simply they needed to add a bit of time because of 1914. Just me maybe.

That is why I pasted that from their (Masthead?) or at least the inside cover where they say "will soon bring". What does soon mean? It allows for wiggle room but soon is still a prediction in my mind.

THE PURPOSE OF THIS MAGAZINE, The Watchtower, is to honor Jehovah God, the Supreme Ruler of
the universe. Just as watchtowers in ancient times enabled a person to observe developments from afar,
so this magazine shows us the significance of world events in the light of Bible prophecies. It comforts
people with the good news that God's Kingdom, which is a real government in heaven, will soon bring
an end to all wickedness and transform the earth into a paradise.
