For Mankkeli and other apologists
by JeffT ini thought i'd throw this out here again after reading the post quoting the wt article about returning to god.
the problem with all such articles is, the governing body/watchtower/jw's are not god.
leaving a human organization is not leaving god, nor is going back to it returning to god.

mankkeli - Please read the first post through. And then if you still feel your drivel from that wt holds any water, well just keep on keeping on I guess.

bft123 - It is not god who is testing you but the governing body. Make this edit change and I can agree with you.

From the latest Awake
HANDWRITTEN LETTER OR CARD
Advantage: Warm and personal.
Disadvantage: Takes time to write and days
to reach the recipient.
E-MAIL
Advantage: Can be composed and delivered
quickly.
Disadvantage: Emotion is often lacking-or
easy to misinterpret. So, my question would be - How is an e-mail message any different from a handwritten letter or card as to emotion and misinterpretation?

"Feeling sorry for yourself" about being hit by your husband is not Christian 2/15/12 WT Page 25 P 12
by yourmomma inhave anyone of you read, the absolutly jaw dropping paragraph in this article about a women who was hit by her husband?
its in page 25 of the 2/15/12 wt study edition (i read the dumbed down version).. .
if there was any question, that the watchtowers stance is for wives to simply take it when their husbands abuse them, this makes it crystal clear.. who the hell is scanning these things before they go to print?

The sister softly said, 'Selma, who is trying to be a Christian here? You, as you try to prove a point or Steve who simply hits you?

IMITATE JESUSÂ’ EXAMPLE OF WATCHFULNESS
by therevealer ini notice that in this article there is a lot of advice given and admonishment to follow the example of jesus, especially in the ministry.
but i noticed that when they discuss how a christian man, the head of a household, they don't have the example of jesus and how he fulfilled the obligation of providing for his household, his family.
they keep bringing up examples of jesus fulfilling his ministry by including occassions where the bible seems to me to be recording what jesus did to provide illustrations for the purpose of teaching conduct to do with daily living amongst those that were already followers of jesus..

More rancid meat lovingly provided by the F&DS
by serenitynow! inin the 2/15/2012 koolaid there is an article about finding happiness in a divided household.
i found this to be particularly offensive: .
"when facing a challenge, it is important to seek scriptural counsel from publications of the faithful and discreet slave class and from the elders.

16 When Jesus was under trial, he resolutely
refused to lean on his own understanding.
Think of it! The wisest
man ever to live on this earth chose
not to draw on his own wisdom for answers.
For instance, when Satan tempted
him, Jesus repeatedly answered with
the phrase: "It is written."And notice what they include in a later paragraph that makes the point made in the first post even more glaring. As serenitynow brings out their advice is "When facing a challenge, it is important to seek Scriptural counsel from publications of the faithful and discreet slave class and from the elders." Page 27, para 5. In paragraph 16 apparently Jesus felt less sure of himself than the modern "shepherds" gb and elders, because he said "it is written" not "well here is what I think/understand".

Blondie's Comments You Will Not Hear at the 11-13-2011 WT Study (RUN RACE)
by blondie inthat the runners in a race all run, but only.
in the christian race, all who finish win that.
you do to finish and thus win that race?.

So Blondie - Think this will show up at a circuit assembly near you as an upbuilding experience, LOL
I remember a woman who studied with an elder's wife who told this woman that her family would oppose her. This woman started viewing them all as enemies and was curt and abusive. Her husband made supper 2 nights a week so she could go to her meetings, and made breakfast on Sunday. They only had one car so he stayed home or got a ride with friends so she could use the car. He paid all her expenses to the conventions/assemblies.. The woman was confused, where was the persecution, did this mean that God was not blessing her. Her family and friends just showed love. Her husband asked if she felt Timothy's Greek non-Christian father persecuted his family? She had to admit he had not and viewed her husband in a better light, as a loving friend not the enemy and stopped her study. Would that more jw studies saw the light.
seems it would be more honest than most that they use now.

GB's Attitude Toward Suffering of "Foreign" Brothers
by compound complex inregarding alternative service.
ray franz received letters from branch committee members that displayed thoughtfulness and breadth of viewpoint that were in sharp contrast to the rigidity and narrowness of several members of the governing body:.
what was the effect of all this?
