I've not seen them for four years - elder puts Memorial invite on my door
by truthseeker ini just came back from shopping, was about to pull up in the driveway and noticed an elder from my old hall and his young child working the territory.. i waited till they left and parked.
i noticed i was the only one who got a memorial invite, none of my neighbors got one.
so they weren't working the territory but stopped by to give me an invite.

Take some laxative drug in good time according to instructions and you are good. No excuses needed.

Yes, but within the same discussion my wife ratted me out by confessing her part. I think they never noticed what really happened before that. CP

Guys, don't we all know that size really do not matter? The end must be nearer than we think. Now we are closing the time when there will be end of much of the writing. All possible issues under the sun has already been published and the human knowledge (or capacity) has reached it peak. There are just no more subjects to handle in these magazines. As these magazines gets smaller it also allows for more condensed writing about really actual issues, like in worldly magazines. Time to publish can be made narrower and it is not really question about last years news, but at least about this quarters news. CP

Will Embracing the Internet lead to Increased Growth for the Watchtower?
by jwfacts inmore important than the reduction in the size of the new magazine is that the watchtower will be actively promoting its website and encouraging people use it to download magazines.
my concern is that this has the potential to lead to an increase in growth for the watchtower.. the door-to-door preaching work has been one of the most inefficient means imaginable to gain converts, and done little more than tie up the time of active jws.
now, by directing people to the internet, witnesses can spread their message at an alarming rate for little cost.. do you feel that this has the potential to lead to a surge in growth of jehovah's witnesses?

Maybe there will be some quiz or lotteries, apply now for biblestudy in your home and you can win all-costs-paid trip to international convention.

Things you did to pass the time at meetings/service/assemblies/conventions/memorials
by OneDayillBeFree ini'm currently at the meeting again... i'm always in the back working the sound cause everyone else can't seem to work it and i'm mostly on my phone reading jwn or writing, or doodling or sometimes i just stare at the audience to see who's falling asleep or daydreaming.
its really the only way i can still sit through these things.. but i remember getting the number of a girl i used to like at one district convention and we would text each other during the program and talk about how boring it was.. i also remember sneaking out of a circuit assembly and going to see a car show that was going on right next door.
that was fun!.

Remarrying, then paradise =problem?
by Inisc inthis is a question i always wondered about and never got an answer to.. its also another reason why i'm finding it harder to believe in an 'afterlife'.. th idea that humans can live forever, now seems so scientificly impossible.. so i wanted to ask all the great minds on here,.
if someone's spouse dies, and then they remarry, then armageddon comes and goes then the deceased is resurrected,.
how,is that ever gonna work?

Wouldn't it actually make sense for widows/ers to marry outside the thruth. In Armageddon their spouse would die in horrible way and if we have mis-interpreted this status of resurrected wrong, he/she would be able to remarry the late spouse. And if interpretetation is right they would be able to marry another survivor anyways.

what do you call yourself?
by bigmac inthe question is directed at those members who still attend the meetings--to whatever extent--to make life easier.
those who perhaps still associate to keep the peace in their family.etc.-----but dont believe it any more.. what do you call yourself--a jehovah's wtness?
what religion (if any) do you write in that box if a form asks you?.

Yes, what elderelite mentions here is a good point. If I am asked about my religious status by other than witnesses I tell them that I am not religious person.

In my opinion central part of being true witness is the witnessing part. Even though in official registry it states Jehovas witness, I don't feel that way as I do not participate in witnessing. Closest I could describe me in my current situation is marked but unbanned witness hangaround.
