Wouldn't it be nice, when you meet the elders that first thing you would say is you have been meditating a lot and that you have decided to leave your privileges as MS, because ......... Then just thank them that they took time to meet you and you had this way possibility to express your decision.

Scriptural v legal divorce
by Inisc inhi everyone, this is sort of a long story but i'll try to keep it short.. mrs inisc was previously married, and before our wedding the elders were giving us a bit of a hard time as her divorce was nigh on complete but just wasn't officially finished, however what they were really concerned about was they weren't sure her ex husband had had "relations" as they like to say,as there wasn't enough satisfactory evidence in their opinion.
this of course made me almost catatonic with rage, especially since we hadn't been to a meeting in about 6 f'ing months and this was what they were worried about.
and i might add the wedding was entirely booked!.

by Lady Lee inif you and your spouse were both jws but you decided to leave and your spouse decided to stay: a few questions.

- What have been the biggest problems you have faced regarding your relationship and the impact the JW beliefs have had on you?
None really, we were both in crossways when all this happened, she decided to stay, I decided to explore my own path. Technically I am not DF/DA but I gave the elders all the weapons if they would like to use it. I still think I should first and most make decision based on moral principles, which I do not find that bad at all.
- How has the JW spouse reacted towards you?
It was clear that we could not continue to conversate over religious matters, which is fine for me. Every now and then she gets sad because we will not spend all eternity together. I try to convince her that I make my very best to nurture happy relation in this life.
- Have the elders interfered with your relationship?
As far as I know they haven't
- Has your decision to leave the JWs resulted in divorce or separation?
No
- And if you had children together what has been the effect on them?
We spend more time together than earlier. They follow their mother to meetings and assemblies, but clearly can not be counted as active witnesses. But I doubt this would be different if I would have continued to attend as infrequent I did.
- What would you want therapists to know about your situation?
I've told all of this very openly to my therapist. What I would like them to understand is that personal issues cannot be fully credited to being part of JW religion. There are lots of good things there too and even many happy memories. It is not as black and white as they seem to like to understand.
- Any other thoughts?

Nope,
I read it at conventions when it was part of the program, and if it was handled in meeting for field service. Otherwise I did not touch the book.

Are righteousness and wickedness synonymous with right and wrong ?
by caliber inwhat the cartoon expresses is .... should this go beyond state issue to .
federal issue or further still to divine issue ?.
those who recognize divine authority see the issue as what is righteous and what is wicked .
-

I wouldn't say they are the same. For me as definition right or wrong are absolutes. Righteousness and wickedness are again more a state of mind kind of thing. This allows righteous to make wrong and wicked to make right.

christmas puddings
by tornapart inin our last ca it was said from the platform that the gb has said we shouldn't buy food that is only produced at certain times of the year.
although not specified i imagine they meant turkeys, christmas puddings, easter eggs, hot cross buns etc.
the reasoning that it's attached specifically to pagan festivals.

Actually it is very clever to wait until they put these periodical products in sale, can you imagine how much money they will save and still get their experience, without problems with conscience. After the feast they are, exactly as in old times, food that WAS food sacrificed to false gods but not anymore.
I must admit, I've been eating all this celebration foods in due celebration times, without feeling bad about it. On top of that I have then also many times taken advantage of this post-celebration sales, easter eggs and candies for sure.

If I do not remember things totally wrong, I think it was in Sweden or could it have been Norway organisation even appealed when state support was denied.

2 year into my fade, where I'm at...
by gutted inwell it's been exactly 2 years and 2 weeks since the night where i investigated (googled) as much about jws as i could after being born and raised in the cult till my mid 20s.
it took just one all nighter to completely demolish all of the doctrines and bullshit of the religion.
basically after that i went to one more convention and have not stepped into a kingdom hall since.

Encouragement based on experience, please do search a qualified and compatible (the latter being more important) therapist if you even have a hunch that this is something you should do. I can guarantee you that you do not want to hit the bottom, earlier you get help better chances are that you won't reach there.
