I love that episode! I have the music from this one on my mp3 player. (Not ripped from the episode, someone actually did an orchestrated version with strings and stuff.)

In general, what is the ethically correct response if a minor tells you someone is molesting him/her?
by InterestedOne ini was thinking about what the elders are trained to do versus what i personally would do if a minor confided in me that someone was molesting him/her.
i'm not sure what the ethically correct first response should be.
my first thought is to contact some kind of law enforcement that specializes in investigating situations like this with people experienced in getting to the truth of the matter.

I'm no expert so don't take my advice. But if a child confided in me that she was being molested I would:
1: Act like I trusted the child and believed that she was being abused. Even if I thought she was making it up.
2: Tell her that she was right to tell someone. (Although I'd rather she told someone other than ME since I'm not really in any position to do much.)
3: Let her know that I will do my best to protect her.
4: DON'T promise you won't tell anyone,
5: DON'T tell anyone other than the parents (If they are not the abuser) and the proper authorities (That does not include the elders.) - And by 'anyone' I mean 'anyone' cause if you tell your mom or your wife or your 'best friend' you may as well shout it from the rooftops. EVERYONE is gonna know.
6: Act as if the child is completely correct and telling the truth no matter what. If it turns out the child is lying or crazy, you won't get in trouble for doing the right thing.
7: Do a quick google search for how to report child abuse. Then do it.
8: Call my local police department and find out what I'm allowed to do. (Can I offer the child a safe place to stay? I dunno! Should I confront the abuser? I DUNNO!!!)

22 Awake! July 2011 seems to say internet porn is good
by therevealer in"the internet is the most important.

I haven't found any rhyme or reason to the Watching the World section.
I'm not sure if they quoted that to endorse it, or to show how immoral and backwards China is, or if they just quote random articles from real news sources so that the Awake seems more legit.

Was Jesus a Mighty God In Human Form That Suffered Hematidrosis?
by sabastious inwhy did jesus, the mighty god, anxiously sweat blood as he neared the end of his task?
given all his experience as gods second in command (or god himself depending on what denomination) youd think the experience of dying horribly as a human should be no sweat right?
well according to the story that is as far away from the truth as humanly possible.. .

Lore
So his blood pressure was so high that the blood vessels near his sweat glands actually ruptured and hemorraged mixing sweat with blood. . . ?
Sounds like a pretty serious medical condition for a perfect guy.

A reason christs ransom makes no sense to me
by Aussie Oz indo you remember the old jeff bridges film ''the last starman''?.
basic theme was an extra terestrial energy life transmogrified into a human and impregnated a woman with a seed that would become the savior of humanity.. hollywood is an old hand at using good v evil sort of messages that have ideoligical ties to the bible and the 'need' for mankind to be saved from themselves.. what gets me about this particular film is that the savior to come was there for all humanity.
no conditions were placed on how many from what nations could benefit, nor was salvation only for those who 'believed' or were smart enough to read visions or hidden messages etc.

How about sending your son into a pool of piranha to find and save those who are looking for a way to clear/safe waters - even knowing he's going to get shredded doing that saving.
First of all, if you can show me ONE father on the planet who would send his son to do something like that instead of going himself, I'll show a really crappy father.
Second that analogy only works if the father and the son are not omnipotent and the only way to save the people is by jumping into the piranha infested waters. Instead of, for example, magically teleporting the people to clear/safe waters or turning all the piranha into tadpoles.
Note that this applies to ALL those flawed analogies to explain why the Jesus' death was needed.
The father didn't have to hold a lever on a train track that killed his son; If he's omnipotent he can magically stop the train in its tracks.
The father doesn't have to let his son drown in order to save someone else; If he's omnipotent he could give them the ability to breath water. How do you figure its not within God's power? Christ IS alive, in spirit. But I'm guessing you meant invincible in the flesh? I'm not sure how many times Jesus said that the flesh counts for nothing and that it is the spirit that matters. So while you might believe that this was a failure, that does not make it so.
Either it's REALLY a sacrifice or it's NOT really a sacrifice.
If it's really a sacrifice then any god worth a hoot would be able to come up with a better solution than sacrificing his son. ( When you consider that amost every day millions of NON-GODS find trivial solutions to petty produce-theif problems that don't involve killing their children. )
If it's not really a sacrifice then why all the drama about his death? If the flesh counts for nothing and the spirit is all that matters and Jesus is still alive in spirit. . . I really wish Christians would stop lying to me and telling me that Jesus died for my sins.

Why can't anyone just simply tell me who writes the watchtowers or the publications for that matter??...(please read)
by Joliette ingot into a discussion with my mom after a sister (that lives down the street from me) went back and told her some things that i said.

i've been going to the hall since i was three, and i have yet to have this questions answered.

If wanted to know who wrote Huckleberry Finn, theres a simple answer: Mark Twain
Mark Twain? Or Samuel Clemens?
Not to be nitpicky (although I am) using an example like that might not be a good idea with your mother.
And of course the authors of Genesis and Revelation are for another topic entirely.

As a single guy who works from home 2 out of 5 days a week and $0 debt with a car that only needs gas every 3 weeks:
I have no addictions, my hobbies are completely inexpensive, and I'm a relatively good cook so I don't eat out all that often.
Economy? There something wrong with it?
Aside from having to pay $1.45 for a bottle of Pepsi instead of $1.20 my spending hasn't changed much at all.

He knew what would happen to Christ, yes, but that is not the same as causing it to happen.
Letting your child swim in a pool of piranha.
Throwing your child into a pool of piranha.
Yeah. . . criminal negligence IS a bit less evil than murder. But it still sucks.
If it could have been any other way, then I believe it would have been.
For example if god COULD have made Jesus invincible he would have. But unfortunately that's not within his power.
because Jesus asked His Father to take the cup away from Him, if possible.
Jesus: "Daddy I jumped in the pool of piranha like you asked, but now it really hurts. Can't you just pull me out?"
God: "Now son. You know your mother drank my beer when I SPECIFICALLY labeled it as mine. . . How can I ever forgive your brother for that unless you get eaten by piranha?"
