typically, what life does a jw lead?

witnesses relish the thought that they are "different" from the rest of the "world"......how so???

I can tell you one thing, I hated going to meetings since the day I can remember. I never enjoyed going, never looked forward to going, and when I did go the end of the meeting and going out the door was the most relief that you can imagine.

We did nothing at meeting, we learned nothing, it was an exercise is mind control.

The people were pampas, arrogant, stupid,uneducated, and thought that they knew it all, Today when I tell people that I come to know, what goes on in a jw hall, I get a stare followed by you have got to be kidding, followed by that's bull shit.

then when jw's have a get-together, every one talks like a 5 year old at Sunday school trying to get brownie points, every thing has to be so sanitized, you watch every thing you say and think about it before you talk, and say things like "I had a good experience in service today" or " isn't the world getting bad, the end is so close" or I am glad my kids wont have to grow up in this evil old system.

there was a very well respected elder in my cong that i will call mr. r. this elder was a very zealous and pious jw and the po.

mr. r was of cuban descent and had extremely conservative veiws.

mr. r being the upstanding jw and elder had a very attractive wife and two cute kids.

by michael kunzelman, associated press | february 23, 2005. a superior court judge has ruled that a jehovah's witness church in boston can be sued for breaking its trust and legal duty to a girl who said she was sexually abused by one of the church's ministerial servants.. suffolk superior court judge herman smith jr.'s ruling is believed to be the first time a massachusetts court has determined that church officials have a "fiduciary duty" to members of their congregation, a relationship akin to the one lawyers and doctors share with clients and patients.. smith's ruling, made earlier this month, also is expected to open another legal channel for lawyers to bring civil suits against churches for clergy abuse cases, according to lisa bruno, news editor for massachusetts lawyers weekly.. "it gives another piece of ammunition to plaintiffs, another grounds for finding a church liable for the actions of priests and ministers," bruno said.. carmen durso, a boston lawyer who settled 40 lawsuits against the archdiocese of boston in 2003, said he expects smith's ruling to pave the way for more clergy abuse cases to proceed.. "it affords another basis, a stronger basis, for bringing claims against churches in sex abuse cases," durso said.. the girl at the center of smith's ruling was between 9 and 11 when a ministerial servant with the columbus park congregation of jehovah's witnesses allegedly molested her during bible study classes in her home, lawyers weekly reported.. the girl's parents, who learned about the alleged abuse in august 2000, sued the ministerial servant and two boston-area jehovah's witness congregations for negligence as well as breach of fiduciary duty.

born in 25 years ago.

father is an elder.

The only thing you can do is talk to them in a way that brings out the points that they have to consider [points that make them think about tower polices] and that is not offensive or argumentative, and let them think on it.

If they don't want to talk about these things, oh well they have to be slaves to the gov. booby, but maybe just maybe one of the nuggets of truth that you drop will fall and fertile soil, to steal a metaphor from the booby.

the wts & its various corporations are a behemoth, rudderless ship with no one at the helm; only concerned with self-preservation.

the result is an inflexible organization slow to make change and not interested in the welfare & rights of individual members.. the internet and boards such as this allow for excellent communication and freedom of information.. because the internet is free and provides relative anonymity it has proven to be one of the greatest threats to the wts.. the wts leaders could be proactive and act in an ethical way, but they'd rather react when a perceived "threat" arises -- telling members to avoid the internet, shun family members, do more/stay busy, and so on.. as jt used to say, "i love this 'net thang".

I agree, I dont care if christ came down and said freddie brown shoes was an idiot first class, they would just mark and not talk to him.

But for those dubbers who have suffered in silence, and felt like they are the only ones to think the socity has a loose screw, or a couple of dozen, then the internet provides a way for them to search, and research and find out the real truth that freddie and the other gov. boobys dont want them to know. these are the ones that walk away,the ones that stay, well that is darwin and natural selection at work.

but anywho i was thinking the other day about certain things that are obvious red flags and far fetched claims that the org makes.

You know, the one thing the dubber always ended up bringing up to me as proof as to why hova was using the org. as his mouth piece, was that "there is no other org. on earth that has love amongst themselves and gets along so well as the dubbers."

this is the biggest load of crap they can try to put on us, any one who goes to the hall can see the politicing, and jocking for posistion amongst the elders and ms, and pioneeres, how many times have we seen the sisters who will only go out with an elder?

If this is love, leave me out. I cant take that kind of love, this from the same org. that says that when you disasociate yourself from your loved ones who are dfed. it is out of love, I cant take that kind of love, seems more like S&M to me, and I have never been into that. FM shoes yes, but socity love? not up for that kind of abuse

but anywho i was thinking the other day about certain things that are obvious red flags and far fetched claims that the org makes.

Has any one ever noticed how many dubbers twist the dubber religion into not what the gov body teaches, but what they want it to be in their mind?

This imho. is what Ben is doing. I have personally witnessed many dub's do this same thing. from arguing that it is a sin to drive to watch 4th of July fire works. to its ok to go out on new years eve and party.

This the reason that it was such a big disaster for the gov body to enact that stupid marking of people that are not quite up to snuff. But who's snuff? That's right, what you feel in your mind is right.

The society thinks they have a grip on their people. but I say if the knew what the rank and file really thought, Freddy brown shoes would do side flips in his tomb.

I am not saying that there are not some that try to hang on every word that the gov. puts out, but even the so called pillars of the cong. as we sarcastically called them. interpret the spew of the gov. just like the rest. So do the ones at bethel, how many of us know ones from bethel, and know things that they do.

I know of several that used to pray on the naiveté of the pioneer girls, and how many he deflowered in his travel trailer no one but he will know, I had a former bethelite stockwell work for me and my father in law, and he really thought that he was and IQ 200, used to take his "Spanish" watchtowers around the hall and inadvertently drop them in front of people, He could not speak Spanish. he was also dismissed for suspicion of being gay. [I have no problem with the sexuality of any one being gay that is tower law]

It was a big let down many years ago for me when I first saw that we were not all this one in tune with god people. We were no different than any one else in the world. our group had good people and bad people. the big diff. was that we just thought we were different and better. we were deluded.

But I am not deluded any more!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have seen the silly old men behind the curtin, and now I just feel sick that these fools fooled me and my family for as long as they did.
