Have you been to Church since leaving JW for someone eles?
by LyinEyes inthis is just a question i am wondering about , since my daughter age 10, has asked me to take her to church.
we have been out of the jw's for 2 yrs and she hated the meetings , we spent most of the time , outside in the car, in the bathroom or home the last years we were jw's.
she has alot of little friends who go to a little group on tuesdays to learn about jesus and do things likes arts and crafts.. well, the ladies at the first baptist church invited her to go to sunday school for her age group.

no saluting the flag or engaging in any religious activity.. no school sports, plays, or social activities.. no close association with "worldy classmates".. and before "new light", no vaccinations.. the young person stands out as "weird", "different", and this by design.. continuing in this process means rejecting of normal relations with neighbors ( fellow schoolmates ) instead of relationships, the young witness is involved in multiple indoctrination sessions and public displays of religious activity ( street corner and door to door work ), which locks him or her into the control of the watch tower system.. further, the witness must associate only with other members, date only other members ( "a chaperon" was required under fred franz ).marry only other members, ( earlier marriage was discouraged ) but if he or she does marry and has children, they must be prepared for the cycle to be repeated.. this lifestyle robs them not only of the joys and delights of childhood, but also handicaps their preparation for a normal life.. from the "four presidents", edmond c.gruss.page 71,72.. i know how true this is , having raised my children,from birth to adult-hood according to the society's process of raising families in the indoctrination of the watch tower.

be glad we see the forest through the trees. many dubs really don?t. they really believe in this crap. They are so brain washed it is pathetic. I can remember when I believed the bull $hit., my attitude was don?t try and confuse me with the facts. but the internet is the antidote to the venom the society injects it us. fresh air from the stale and closed thinking of the dubdumb. for me to pick a rule out and say this is the rule that pisses me off is like picking out a turd out of the septic and saying this turd here really pisses me off. I cant do it, I hate them that stay and thair whole org. I can site one rule that sucks easy enough but it comes down to the whole ball of wax for me. it is all one big septic tank. and if I can leave and think for myself, than any one can do it, and I have no sympathy for any one who lets them self be bullied around when all they have to do is stand up and walk away, every one feels for an underdog but if the dog stays and takes it and just rolls over when it is easy enough to walk away and they stay only for the security the org. gives them, they deserve the life they make for themselves, ben franklin said it best "those who would trade freedom and liberty for security deserve neither"

to those who said that they want out but dont know how to go in to the world. you are already in the "world" by being a witness they keep you from knowing it. you need the dubbers like you need a prison sentance. when you jump off the biulding away from the dubs. you find out you just jumped off the curb 6" drop and you just need to cross the street. wonderfull things await.

having grown up as a witness, i always felt closer to jews than most christians (when you think about it there are a number of commonalities, like not celebrating christmas, having a "memorial" often on passover night that talks a lot about the israelites escaping egypt, the whole ot focus of the witnesses instead of on the christ of the nt, etc.).
anyway, it was thanksgiving and my boyfriend's aunt was there who was a holocaust survivor.

I was a dubber for 30 years, and I count the time from birth as my mother would have me reading from the paradise book, ie the big orange book at 2, and I have been out for almost nine years and questioning for 11, but the mind control put forth by the old unlaied farts at brooklin is strong. for years I would feel guilt for doing thing that the socity said was wrong. I am over that now, even the thoughts of maybe they are right are gone. I know in my hart that they are wrong, but I still hide the xmas tree and just last night I was in a mexcian restraunt with my brother and his girlfriend and my wife. [real brother not a dubber] and I had a nice big don pablo churchill in my pocket and wanted to light it up so bad but it is sat, and the dubbers are out and about and I thought what if one sees me. not that I care about thair stupid laws but I dont want to give them the rope to hang me, as that it what they would love, then they could say see we told you he was no good, but now I am a bro, in good standing even though they do not talk to me, they hate it. and I love it. is that so wrong.

Service meeting - Don't talk to disfellowshipped ones at the Memorial!

also, i don't know if there is any truth in this, but disfellowshipped ones are generally not invited to the memorial.

Truthseeker, If some one really loves you they will stand by you in your decision to do what ever, as long as it does not hurt someone else. and if not then they really did not love you in the first place. and if is better to know it now than later. because it wont change. the dubberdom only makes people slaves and tears apart relation ships, the only relationship it builds is blind followings in itself. I have been out for seven years and it takes many years after leaving to start to relly heal the damage that they cause. The thing that made me start to wonder was when I first wrote the socity about the articals in the tower that a dubber could not use a fire arm to defend them self even if it ment death for them self or some one else. they could not even use nonleathel peper spray or stun guns. the answers I got from the socity were so inept and pablem that it really made me start to think " hay wait a min. these people are not the all knowing dieties that I thought they were." then the biggie was the change in 1914 generation, which I had said for a long time that if they change that I would leave, all along I was told by elders and others in the borg that they would never change that meaning. then when they did all those who said they would never change defended the change with shit answers like " I like the new meaning because it makes the meaning clearer" quoat by butch repp. vanderbiult cong. mi. what the hell was that suposed to mean?

No doubts, but it can be hard with no support in a small town where you see the dubbs network of support. even though you know you are right, they support each other in groups, they try hard to put on airs of being happy in front of you, and you know it is crap, but by being a witness for years you have cut out any support long ago by nonwitnesses.you are in a limbo and it takes time to start new friendships, but nothing worth having comes cheep or easy.

What Motivates You to Expose the "Truth About the Troof" to Active JW's?
by imallgrowedup inwhile responding to another thread, i was thinking about how so many of us talk about trying to help "believing dubs" out from the clutches of the wt, while at the same time, it occurred to me that we probably all have different motivations for doing so.
as for me, i am motivated to get my parents out because i think they have the right to know "the whole story" - not just the candy-coated version the wt espouses, so they can make better decisions about how they want to live the rest of their lives.
right now the wt makes all their life decisions for them - including whether or not they should look at what the "other side" has to say about them.

and of course, the witnesses are no different and imo, are more guilty than most.
people go to a meeting during a snowstorm because the elders feel it's not that bad.

They use guilt as a control tool.
If you are programed to always feel guilty then you will be more inclined to let them control more of your life.
And that in the end of the day is what it is all about. I really don?t think the butt bangers in bethel really give a rats ass about the teaching as much as they do about preserving the organization.
It is there security, and the people that support it need to be controlled to keep everything in place. It is obvious that they don?t care about the rank and file. we are not only second class citizens but expendable.
A cousin of mine told me a few days ago that she found an old cassette tape that had "apostate" recordings that some one had given her a long time ago. she said that she ran to the burn barrel then stood there thinking, what am I so afraid of? the mind control is still working even though I have left many years ago.
It is very important to work hard to root out the damage that the dubs have inflicted. for me it is an every day project.
