Long-distance Relationships?
by mindfield ini'd like to ask for a tidbit of advice... if you don't mind!
being the inexperienced 18-year old that i am, and with the close-minded parents that i have, it can be hard to find some good, reliable advice.
so here's my dilemna.

Mindfield,
I have to say..you definately did not come across pervy.. I can relate to your experience, but from the girls point. I was 14 when I met and fell for a 22 yr old..he happened to be my teacher.. he wanted a relationship... I didnt.. ( I was quite mature for 14 *rolling my eyes*..yeah I know ..THAT line..)..any way that was that.. and then at 18 I fell for a 31 yr old.. ahhh there was a pattern I guess..Not sure If I HAVE a point...other then I got over both relationships, as intense as they were and am now with a guy 2 years older..and can relate better...things get better as you get older..teens are tumultuous.. *HUGZ*..all the best, be patient..you sound like a wonderful guy.. -

Death and Forgiveness
by Mommie Dark inmy father died wednesday night.
he's been bedridden, paralyzed, and tube fed for nearly five years, so it was more release than tragedy.. those of you who know my story will understand the miserable mix of emotions his passing has caused.
the whole guilt and forgiveness issue shoved itself right up my nose into my forebrain.

MD,
I haven't been able to read your previous post/s, and I haven't met you before.. but I guess you had abusive parent(s)..? I am sorry to hear that , I can draw parallels, even though no 2 stories are carried the same. I lost my Mum 4 years ago,( she was my physical and emotional abuser), I went thru many a painful time of guilt and the fact my Mum never forgave me for leaving the JW's, but I have made it thru the other side ...and, am now trying my best to be a good parent and person... I wish you all the best and offer sympathy on the loss of your Dad.. *HUGZ* -

Taking a Trip With My Lady Friend
by gilwarrior inthis weekend i went out with my lady friend.
we were talking about places that we wanted to travel to and about her birthday on march 15. we were talking about miami when i jokingly mentioned, "wouldn't it be cool if me and you could go to miami for your birthday?
" it was just a joke, but much to my surprise she told me, "yeah that would be a great idea!

Or you could always take this quote seriously....
"Young love is a flame; very pretty, often very hot and fierce, but still only light and flickering.
The love of the older and disciplined heart is as coals, deep burning, unquenchable." (Henry Ward Beecher) -

Gil, I would say she is just playing it safe..we women are all different..I am a straight shooter.. ( but I do like being mysterious..which can be confusing!!!..LOL) but some women take their time, make sure all is ok before taking a leap..or maybe she really does want to be friends.. You'll have to wait and see...

Why are men so fascinated with Breasts?
by butalbee income on boys, tell me what is your fascination with clevage?
do you dream of big breasts?
does the cup size really matter?

I am with the scientific reasoning.. It is the difference in men and women that is attractive... and sometimes there are exceptions.. guys that like androgenous women..etc.. and got to hate the reasoning..that because a woman has BIG breasts they are fake..What is that..??? you can have perky rounded boobs and they are au naturel... LOL...

Was leaving easy for you?
by Preston ini was contemplating today on how easy it was for me to leave the congregation compared to what many people here had to deal with.
i mean, all the letters, judicial committees, family breakdowns were not really something i had to deal with.
the worst thing i had to deal with was when a couple of elders inquired if i ever "acted on" my being gay.

My leaving was bittersweet.. I was so unemotionally attached to the religion, but my family were all deeply into it, excluding my brother. *We used to sit at doors he and I..for ages..making out like we were having big conversations with people, as we were door knocking... * I used to sneakily get hold of Christmas Cards for my "worldly friends", and send them off,so that part saved me, and I was quite a wild child!!! LOL....But the emotional blackmail is extremely hard.. my family * the jws* would let you come to a point , then flash in your face all of a sudden your non Jw status ..I drifted out, when I left my sisters home and moved right away.. and every time I had Elders come knocking as a routine sheeeeeeep call... I would be REALLY rude...But when my Mum became veery sick i would visit her and sit with her during chemo and came across a few JWs who would act as if i had the plague..I an say i felt sorry for them more then anything..and when Mum died I had not one Jw come up to me or my brother at her funeral..again their loss..and we just held our heads high...But as hard as it was at times..i have and will never look back.. since my brother and myself leaving..My brother in law has left and his kids and my sister is still in deep and they are divorced due to it, as she wouldnt let him live as a non Jw so she did her best to smear his name and reputation.. * to the point of lying about adultery* so this opened , yet again my eyes to the hypocrisy and non christian way of life Jws are really living...But sometimes i can fell a little odd, listening to peoples emotional battles with the WTBS,as in the doctrines.. because i hadnever believed them, but that is how different perspectives can be...

Created by Aliens?
by 2SYN inhehe, i knew that thread topic would get me lots & lots of hits!
ok, here's the situation: my dear friend refuses to be convinced that we were not created by aliens (or some higher form of life, apparently outside the universe) about 8,000 or so years ago.
here are the arguments i have presented to him and what he said.
