The Gall Of WT To Give This Advice To Pioneers:

this past week's wt study lesson was entitled: 'pioneering strengthens our relationship with god'.. under the subheading 'remaining in the full-time service' in par 14 the wt has the nerve to give this admonition to pioneers: .

'desiring to learn from jesus' example, a pioneer does well to keep in mind that the more material things he has, the more he will have to maintain , repair, or replace.'.

i don't think the gb or anyone in the writing department has the freedom to speak on giving adivce on the matter of 'material things' given the fact that wt has close to a billion dollars in real estate and loads of money in various bank accounts; given the fact that gb is currently building themselves new living quarters with who knows what sort of comforts and other amenities.

In order for Jesus to be lord of the sabbath ( and not a lier ) the 1000 year reign WOULD HAVE TO BE ( start in 1975 ) Is that plain enough for you ?

Pioneers, you should not get a nice built in pool like the GB will have. It takes up to much time and money. lol

faking of hours in field service or dragging service time out by making coffee stops or driving for hours "between" household contacts are never frowned upon, let alone mentioned, in the publications.

yet, in each congregation of jehovah's witnesses, to one degree or another, faking hours, padding time out with coffee stops and long journeys between opportunities to "witness" are endemic practices..

The WT and the nicene fathers

hey guys i just read "the watchtower and the nicene fathers" om freeminds.org.. has anyone read what the nicene fathers knew of the trinity and what did you think?

were the wt accurate in what they said of them?.

The WT says different things. Most of the time they try to make it sound like the RC church teaches Jehovah and Jesus are the same person. This is not true. This is not what they teach although there are some churches that do teach this ( oneness Pentecostal ). Think of it this way....You are one person, your father is one person, your brother is one person but you are all human. Three persons, all human, made of the same stuff. True human from true human. How can a human beget anything but a human? How can God beget anything but God ?

If you believe in God, I don't think he would care if you did not know exactly what his nature is like. Half the scriptures make it sound like yes it's true. the other half make it sound like it's not.

The thing that is NOT ok, is when the WT lies about what other churches teach. Just go to the source yourself. You cannot trust them to give you the full story.

I Went To A Catholic Mass Yesterday And What A Waste of Time!

the priest acted as if he was the reason why people were there.

he was about 80 and totally disinterested in the affair although he married the deceased and her husband 15 years earlier.. his sermon's gist was that we need faith to accept that the reason why god has us die is so that we can go to heaven.

and that's it.. the only interesting (touching) time was when the grandkids gave testimonials about their beloved grandma.. oh, and one more thing.

It felt very strange to me the first few times, and then it sort of grew on me. I'm sure it's much closer to what Jesus grew up with. When Jesus went to church it was NOT like the kingdom hall. lol .
