so i got some great advice to take things very slowly with the husband and kids in order to be able to fade and still maintain contact with my parents and siblings.

but today i got a call from my son's teacher that he was having a meltdown because he was worried about all his friends and teachers being destroyed at armageddon.... first i felt like such a schmuck for ever having allowed that thought to enter my son's head, then i thought, is it psychological torture for me not to immediately correct the situation?

i had a long talk with him about how god is perfectly just and full of love and he didn't have to worry about that at all, but it still seemed lukewarm.

Be an intuitive parent. Parent your children the way you would have wanted to be parented.

Would you have wanted your parents to lie to you? Would you have liked to be raised at Waco or in the Jim Jones cult? You already know what you need to do.

quick back-story: i'm pretty young...old enough to go to war but too young to buy a beer (if i were in the states..maybe i am maybe i'm not...) compredo?

so i've had allot of doubts, but figured it was a fault in myself until my best friend left a year ago and has since been labeled apostate.

i've never shunned him, in fact, i still see him a few times a month in secret.

Since people are noticing your depression, play that up to your advantage and do a slow fade. Easy to fake and everyone can relate.

in the congregation i attend, no one--and i mean no one--commented on the directive to not communicate with df'd family members by email.

The sin is not what the person did, the sin is allowing yourself to be df'd in the first place. They tolerate no descenters, no matter what the circumstances. Don't expect any sympathy or compassion from the Watchtower Society.

How do I tell my husband?

i'm a born in, baptized as a young teenager, whole family is jw.

i just recently woke up after the new understanding of the fds was announced and it seemed to me to smack of power-grabbing.

i started looking at all the websites we're not supposed to, and now i know why.

How about the weekly family study? Can you ask him to address some topics that he won't be able to come up with satisfying answers to?

Can you say you want tp practice presentations for door to door and when you are a householder, ask him to justify something such as the failed prophecies or another subject that is tough to explain away. Ask him why the parable of the faithful and discreet slave is considered a prophecy when none of the other fifty plus phrophecies are.
