Do you think JWs are dangerous, if yes why? If not, why?
by suavojr inpersonally the jws to me are not dangerous.
on the other hand, many do think they are in fact a dangerous cult.
why are they dangerous?.

Not only dangerous, they are cruel. Taking away precious hours each week for years and decades of people's lives, discouraging them from making something of themselves. They make false promises and give people false hope. They steal peoples lives away. The enslave people by their false teachings and endless rules. Yes, they are an evil sort. Glad I am out...sorry I didn't leave sooner.

Awful experience: I threw my WT library out!
by StephaneLaliberte inyes, i threw my wt library out: my recycle bin was full.
even if i had imagined this experience to be similar to a prisoner getting rid of his chains, this was not so.. instead, it brought up all the memories i had shared with my family where we were excited about the release of the revelation book; the clear feeling of ultimate knowledge when we showed the live forever book, the questions i had practiced with my family in the organized book, my cousins who got baptized as well.
somehow, all i could think of was only the good memories i had shared with my family and almost cried about it.. and then, i started to think of the division, the hatred and the pain that became prevalent in my family as some were disfellowshipped and thus, ostracized.

Throwing out Watchtower literature is very cathartic. Good things in your future, I am sure.

whathappened
At one hall, I missed the meeting for 3 months and no one said a word to me. I went back and it was like no one noticed I was gone...not a word. I was just tired and depressed at the time, unaware of TTATT. Now, I haven't been to a meeting in 3 1/2 years. I never get a call or an invite. I guess I don't matter to anyone there and I am happy they leave me alone. I am not df'd or da'd, no witch hunt or anything. NICE!

Don't You Think It's Odd That "Jehovah" Was Invented By A Catholic Monk?...
by minimus inand that jehovah's witnesses are proud to use that name?.

Most Witnesses do not know this, even though the Watchtower did print this information in it's literature. Of course, they do not highlight the fact, as they like to leave the impression they are the only ones who use the "divine name."

Listen, Obey and
by berrygerry ini'm extremely neutral in our house, so it's not my influence - honest!.
my 11-year old is light-years advanced with his intelligence and humour.. he's going around the house singing "listen, obey, and be castrated.".
was not impressed.. pretty hard to contain my laughter..

I had one reservation before I got baptised at the age of 17 as a born in. My concern was that since we were only about 100 yrs. old (that was in 1971), how could JWs be the true religion? How did JWs get started?
I was told by an older pioneer sister, an elder's daughter, that we started as a bible study group who discovered that none of the churches were really teaching what the Bible taught so they started their own religion and became JWs. That was a terrible over simplification of the true facts. I was lied to by omission. I stayed in until 3 1/2 years ago and was stupid enough to raise my own child in this ridiculous sham of a religion.
Thank you Internet for helping me out of Watchtower world.

There are so many little unspoken rules in the JW religion that it is difficult to B S anyone who was really a Jehovah's Witness. No JW would ever even step foot on YWCA or YMCA property. They don't even really want you to go to weddings in other religious organisations.
Yes, this poster is a troll.

Great campagne in Portugal (ex-JW)
by TJ Curioso ini like to tell you what we've been doing these past few days here in portugal (ex-jw).
we create a brochure and printing, so we can send to the maximum of congregations in portugal.
some individuals were also covered in this campaign.. the title of the pamphlet is: "when will the kingdom arrive?".
