If you tell your wife that you want to get an education so that you can better provide for your family, she may accept you going back to school.
Look into grants or school loans and go for it. If you don't, ten...twenty years from now you really will regret it. Getting old is bad, being old AND poor really sucks. Armageddon and paradise is not coming. Prepare for reality.
my wifes mother recently passed away, and it has devastated my wife.
the family, who are not witnesses, but out of respect for the deceased, and who was a jw, had the ceremony at the kingdum hell, which almost made me throw up... last time i ever step foot in that place.
i felt like a vampire on the threshold of a church, as i looked into the interior hall feeling my skin burn and start to smoke... anyways, as i have posted on here before a friend of my wife, has in the past, sent her (my wife) emails about going back to the kingdumb hell.
I was also going to suggest you "accidentally" put this friend's email address on your unsafe list or just delete her and allow her to think she is being ignored.
I hope you were tactful in your email. This could be upsetting to your wife.

i was just thinking and a new major flaw in the new lite sprang into my mind.
one of the ways the governing body justified its existence is saying that there was a governing body over 1st century christians based out of jerusalem.
now i know they dont have any real proof of this, in fact evidence is the opposite of this, but lets say for arguments sake there was a gb in the 1st century.
Last weekend I told my daughter who is still "in" about this "nu lite" and she was shocked. I don't think this new teaching is going to go over very well. This may, coupled with the generation teaching, push people right out. Let's hope it does anyway.
in aragon's thread which has reached 6 pages a couple of points were touched on that i wanted to bring out but thought these points deserved a whole thread to dissect and discuss them.. first off : there seems to be a total hypocrisy , arrogance, or typical speaking out of both sides of their mouth when the wt instructions in the letter says :.
" the branch office, not the local body of elders, determines whether an individual who has sexually abused children in the past will be considered a ' predator ' .
then this quote from the 1997 wt instructions : " and the congregation cannot read hearts to tell who is and who is not liable to molest children again.
Using the word "arrogant" to describe the Governing Body is truly an understatement. Gross arrogance times 1,000 is more like it. Satanic like arrogance is what they are showing. Their actions and this letter certainly proves they are not faithful nor are they discreet, and certainly not slavelike.
This stance they are taking on child abuse should trouble everyone, Mr. Flipper. Anyone sitting on the fence about this organisation needs to WAKE UP!
i'm becoming increasingly intrigued by the work of jwfairytale, who posts videos on youtube giving his take on all things jw related.
i don't think his stuff is for everyone.
he's clearly quite emotional about his jw experience, and i can see his language and face paint ruffling the feathers of the more easily offended jws.

i've been browsing and reading threads here for a while.
i am never a jw, i am in a relationship with an inactive one, who in fact is in the middle (not knowing what to believe anymore).
i have read some of the threads here about stories of those who have experience with jws and mostly ended up hurt but there also some who made it.. and some of the threads/info/works that you all have done here are really great!.

for those who are atheists: did you become an atheist while being a jw, then left, or did you not view them as the true religion and left, but still believed in god/bible, but later turned to atheism?.
The so called apostasy came first. Once the watchtower society fell from the pedestal, I started to question all their flawed scriptural interpretations. I discovered that you can twist the scriptures to prove or disprove almost any viewpoint.
Then I read the book "The Atheists Book of Bible Stories" and it was all over for me believing the Bible. The next reasonable step was atheism. It was very hard for me to give up the idea of God. When you discover that the god of the Bible really isn't loving at all, it all comes tumbling down.
i am adding a section to my article on blood transfusions and would like the following critiqued and improved upon.. .
rights of children.
parents have a duty of care towards their children and governmental authorities are expected to remove a child from a parent that is mistreating or endangering a child.

I just had a heart to heart talk about the blood issue with my daughter, who has a 4 year old son. I compared letting him die because of refusing a blood transfusion was the same thing as child sacrifice. Wasn't child sacrifice condemned in the Bible? Does Jehovah expect us to sacrifice our children up to him like they sacrificed animals in the Old Testament. What's the difference between offering them up in the fire or just letting them die in the hospital from a lack of blood? It's the same thing. You are sacrificing a life to God, and it's not even you own life, it's someone elses. I thought we didn't have the right to take another's life. I asked her if she let her husband die, wouldn't that be human sacrifice?
The argument resonated with her, I could tell she finally got it. She told me she would think about it.
well....tonight is when they announce my disfellowshipping for apostasy from "jehovah's organization".
on another note.....i have officially learned that the woman i used to love and that i trusted was a genuinely good, moral person is officially evil.
i have a friend that still goes to the sunday meeting to appease his elderly parents.
Well you just can't trust a Jehovah's Witness, that's the moral of the story.
