by Witness 007 inyes a brother was interrigated by the s.s elders in a local ethnic cong.
for getting arrested while driving under the influence of alcohol....to save his privleges he says that he had no alcohol at all, but did drink from an old bottle of coke which must have "fermented" into alcohol in his stomach...... maybe one of the best bullcrap stories i ever heard.....we need more honest elders like him in jehovahs "clean organisation..

My review of 2011 - the mad, the obscure, the outrageous, the terrible...
by cedars in2011 is a special landmark year in my life, because it is the year when i finally said "enough is enough" and awakened from my increasingly passive role within the jw faith.
coincidentally, this was also the year in which the governing body "ramped up" its rhetoric to ever more dizzying heights of arrogance, hatred, and absurdity.
whether 2011 subsequently goes down in the history of the watch tower society as being a true turning point in its downfall remains to be seen.

I agree 100% blues...but a diehard won't see that simple reasoning. After many years of serving the org...they do not want to admit to themselves that they could be wrong, too many years invested. High controlled indoctrination retards the thinking process to where it seems evil or scary...so its just easier to stay in.

Reinstatement...how long?
by LKM inhow long does it take for the elder's to respond to a letter of reinstatement?
is there a time range?.

Well, if you make it a point to attend every meeting and make sure you study consistantly (prove it by you underlining your watchtower or bookstudy publication which shows them you are taking it seriously), they will meet with you sooner than later. If they have another matter they are attending to, you will automatically get put on the back burner. But the standard operating procedure is roughly 2 weeks before you get a phone call to schedule a meeting with you.
Also, if your looking to get reinstated, make sure you point out in your letter how much you hurt Jehovah and your relationship with him; that is what they are looking for. Don't say stuff like I miss my friends and family, those are the wrong reasons. Sometimes it can depend on the elders in the hall as blondie pointed out (the good ol boy network. eg. elders wife or son/daughter), I see it all the time.
But the biggest factor I would say on how quick you get reinstated is this: If you engaged in gross sin and you are not repentant, you will probably be disfellowshipped. If you engaged in gross sin and are repentant, yet your sin is well known among those in the hall, you will probably get disfellowshipped in order to make an example out of you. If you engaged in gross sin and are repentant, yet your sin is known among only a few in the congregation, you may only get public reproof. If you engaged in gross sin and are repentant, yet your sin is not known at all among others in the congregation, you will probably only get privately reproved.
Most elders in congregations will keep telling you no on your reinstatement no matter how repentant you are for a minimum of six months to a year.
I like spilling the beans...

But a die hard witness would argue...
"it is true the word of Jehovah is unchanging. But we as Jehovah's Witnesses have to keep in step with god's organization or we will be left behind." "In other words, although Jehovah's word doesn't change, our present understanding of his word does change from time to time." "We should thank Jehovah everyday for for the faithful and discreet slave who continues to supply us with spiritual food at the proper time."
I seem to be hearing this shit more and more from the platform ever since the recent generation change.

a new one
by hijosdelawatch ini'm still inside because of family, friends... all my life is there.
i used to have doubts (one year ago) but now i only have certainties about the org.
another reason for staying, at least for now, is i'm living at home with my jw mother and she allowed me to go to college.. i seem to everyone in the congregation a normal witness but when i sit down in the meetings i do know 99% what i listen to is just the same failed prophecies and doctrines repeated always in the same way.. i'm now being "persuaded" to accept my appointed as a ms. though i'm not doing nothing special to get it, i'm serving in a foreign language territory simply because i couldn't hold on with the pressure of my family and elders from my congregation.
