i have an old friend from jw's that has been trying to track me down.
she finally found me today.
of course to invite me to memorial.
Wow, Ilovebirthdays...amazing story. Sounds like she needs a friend and you might just be one who would be there for her.
Sounds like she has had a hard life enabling her alcoholic husband/elder to look good.
Perhaps one day she will be ready to leave the JWs... and maybe even leave her marriage!
I hope she gets some professional help because its not an easy road to travel.

speaking of the supernatural... if you do not already fully understand the beginning and development of the freemasons you might want to watch this 2005 series of videos (each about 10 minutes or less):.
i realize many of you already know that pastor russell who birthed the jws was a freemason.
so i thought you may find this of interest.. satinka.
Thanks for the link, Blondie. I note that VM44 responded on that link by quoting:
"In an address delivered in a San Francisco masonic hall in 1913, Russell made positive use of masonic imagery by saying, "Now, I am a free and accepted mason. I trust we all are. But not just after the style of our masonic brethren." He further develops this idea: "true Bible believers may or may not belong to the masonic fraternity, but they are all masons of the highest order, since they are being fashioned, chiselled and polished by the Almighty to be used as living stones in the Temple Built Without Hands. They are free from sin, and therefore accepted by the God of Heaven as fit stones for the heavenly Temple." Later in this address, Russell stated quite clearly that "I have never been a mason." Those who claim Russell was a freemason quote this address out of context without noting the rhetorical imagery.
Although Russell wrote about the pyramids and the Knights Templar, the pyramids are not a part of Freemasonry and Russell's understanding of the relationship between the modern Knights Templar and Freemasonry displays an outsider's ignorance of both organizations."
Thanks again Blondie and VM44...So, I concur...if Pastor Russell was not a FREEMASON, he was a FREEMASON-WANNA-BE!

Just to add, I liked the first part of the video that Mouthy posted at http://www.jehovahs-witness.net/watchtower/beliefs/208420/1/FREEMASONS-and-Pastor-Russell which prominently features FREEMASON Pastor Russell's tomb stone.

There is, indeed no real proof of Russel being a Freemason. ... But thats not strange for a Mason in anyway, they mostly dont proclaim themselves as being one, and the symbolics he used and whe're he is burried indicate different then the mainstream opinion of the JW. I think he was a freemason. There is no proof he was, but also no proof that he wasnt .
Thanks Medina. Freemasons are a secret organization, just like the jws. That is the whole point of this thread. If any of you bothered to watch the videos, it states the belief that Jehovah is actually Satan. Pastor Russell's books are full of diagrams about astrology and pyramids and blood sacrifices and naked bodies hanging to die and pictures of bodies writhing in pain.
Pastor Russell certainly worshipped Jehovah and the JWs have a punishing belief system. Jehovah is no God of Love like he pretends to be. Ask anyone who is shunned who is not allowed to see their children.
Speaking of credibility...are the JWs credible??? Really??? Are so many of you here still JWs --- or JW-wannabe's??? Go be that, then! Contrary to popular belief, you do have free will!

... and wanted to disrupt sites like this one and activities of 'apostates' in general, what would i do?.
would i send apologists who were obviously on the side of the wts to spew out the typical wts message, ones that would be quickly labelled and disagreed with?
maybe ... it would get people riled up.
It took time for me to find my voice after being disfellowshipped. I was a frightened bird.
But, lately I started blogging. At first I felt really frightened about who might read my blogs.
But, now I realize that no one is reading them and I am feeling freer. I blog for myself.
If someone happens to read them, fine. Seems like people are too busy to bother.
If I was in charge of the WT I would close it down. It's a sick religion.

i'm sure at some point you have mentioed it somewhere on the site, perhaps several.
but this question is i guess personal.
for those her were born into the jdub religion, why did you leave at whatever point?
At some point I out-grew the JWs antiquated beliefs and began dancing... I got disfellowshipped.
Here is my story:

Apr 7, 2011 - 10:40:33 AM Elizabeth Vargas' Yearlong Investigation into the Independent Fundamental Baptist Church Airs Friday, April 8
Try to imagine the pain and humiliation of a teenage girl, just 15 years old, who says she was forced to stand in front of a New Hampshire church congregation and confess her "sin" of being pregnant. She says that, not only was she forced to confess her pregnancy, but also to ask for their forgiveness - with no mention of the man she says sexually abused her. After all, she says, the pastor told her it's better than being stoned to death, as the bible describes.
That is what Tina Anderson alleged happened to her at her ultra conservative Independent Fundamental Baptist -- or IFB -- church. The IFB has thousands of congregations across the country, but many people had never heard of it... That was, until another woman, Jocelyn Zichterman, began a public campaign, armed with nothing but a computer and memories of her own alleged abuse, which she says church beliefs can foster.
And survivors are now coming out of the woodwork to say she's not alone. Elizabeth Vargas' yearlong exclusive investigation into a religious sub-culture that critics claim can foster - even cover up - physical and sexual abuse airs on "20/20," Friday, April 8 (10:00-11:00 p.m., ET) on ABC.
Critics say the church teaches a strict interpretation of the bible, including the practice known as breaking the will of the child, with some advocating that it even be applied to infants as young as two weeks old.
"I had a decision to make that either I was going to kind of curl up in the corner and be quiet or I was going to stand up for my family and tell the truth," says Jocelyn Zichterman.
Pastor Chuck Phelps, the former pastor at Tina Anderson's New Hampshire church, denies Tina was disciplined by the church or that there was any attempt to cover up a crime. He declined repeated interview requests but provided a statement: "Tina was involved in an ongoing sexual relationship with Mr. Ernie Willis... Tina lied to her mother and to me about this relationship." He also said he brought the allegations to the attention of police who failed to investigate further. Ernie Willis, Tina Anderson's alleged attacker, has pleaded not guilty to sexual assault.
Brian Fuller, the current pastor at Tina's former IFB church, says all IFB churches operate independently and that his church has nothing to hide. He opened his doors to "20/20" cameras, was critical of how Tina's case was handled and denounced any abusive disciplinary practices, adding: "The Bible says that I'm supposed to love my children, I'm never supposed to ever do anything out of anger or manipulation. And that's what our people are taught here."
"20/20" is anchored by Elizabeth Vargas and Chris Cuomo. David Sloan is executive producer. I wonder if Elizabeth Vargas would investigate the JWs..??? satinka
