I had cataract surgery on Feb 12
by Lady Lee ini cannot believe the difference in my vision.
even with glasses my vision in the left eye was poor.
but i can now read a 12 font fairly clearly without the glasses.

I also have floaters in my eyes and I asked my optometrist last night when I was getting an eye exam....she told me these are normal for my age (58) and that I should live with it.

I am like Dr. Leo Marvin in "What about Bob"
by NVR2L8 ina few days ago i watch the old bill murray movie "what about bob" with my family and realized that i'm in the same situation as dr. leo marvin (played by richard dreyfus).
for those who have never seen this movie, dr. marvin is a psychiatrist who is unable to shake off an obsessed patient who manages to track him down during his family vacation.
the patient befriends the family who see him like a charming man, when in fact he is driving dr. leo crazy.

A few days ago I watch the old Bill Murray movie "What about Bob" with my family and realized that I'm in the same situation as Dr. Leo Marvin (played by Richard Dreyfus). For those who have never seen this movie, Dr. Marvin is a psychiatrist who is unable to shake off an obsessed patient who manages to track him down during his family vacation. The patient befriends the family who see him like a charming man, when in fact he is driving Dr. Leo crazy. Regardless of the Dr.'s attempt to explain what's going on to his family or to get rid of Bob, every effort backfires and his family sides with Bob.
This made me think of my relationship with my JW family...the more I try to help them understand that there is something wrong with the WTS (Bob), the closer they get to the cult...the WTS lies, but they won't hear it...and when I bring up anything negative about the WTS they think I am the crazy one. But unlike Dr. Marvin, I will not blow up my own house or lose my mind and get locked up in a mental institute. Instead I will be patient and hope that the many changes in doctrine will get their alarm bells running as they did for me a few years back.
Have you ever watched a movie that reminds you of your own situation in regards to the WTS?

At conventions, when there is no opening prayer for the afternoon session and the song is over, the chairman would say "you may be seated" as if the audience couldn't figure it out on its own...still some idiots would wait for the cue to sit...

We are in for a blizzard!

We are getting it here in the Toronto area...schools and some businesses are closed. They say it will be the biggest snow storm of the last 5 years. I hope I can get my snowblower going after not using it for so long...
I love those days where everything stops...When I lived in Montreal we had a huge storm in March 1971 and the snow completely covered the parked cars...all you could see were their antennas sticking out over the snow. Snowmobiles were used for emergencies...Life stopped for 3 days with no work, meetings or service...the city was silent and peaceful. My brothers and I got dressed warmly and made our way to the park, walking between snow drifts that were as tall as us...

i had a very successful loan brokerage and watched that crash and burn in 2011. i went back to my previous firm in the computer industry that was struggling after i left.
it seemed like a good match.

Hey Wha Happened...hang in there buddy! I went throught the same thing when I was 54...after 28 years with the same employer. What help me get by was an extensive network of contacts and people I dealt with. You sound like someone who knows his way around people and I am convinced that in a short time you will find your true vocation. Just one word of caution: I read that you are dealing with some family problems...please don't let this monopolize all of your attention...just focus on what you need to do next to find a position that will truly make you happy. Good luck man!

Satanus...not at all. I just asked the question because bad repercusions or acts of vandalisme for flying our Canadian flag in Quebec are pretty rare and I would expect the same in Ontario. I agree with you with the ligitimacy of having the Canadian flag in Quebec and it is visible in all Federal Government agencies. This is only my opinion: unlike the rest of Canada it seems that fewer people fly a flag in Quebec...with the exception of people who are engaged seperatists...Here in Ontario I see a lot more Canadian flags
