What really jumped out at me while watching this video is the widow's crying at the grave site...I attended several JW services and never saw much demonstration of intense grief...JW usually cry silently or cry privately. They also rarely go to the grave site...many not having such a site to be remembered by...I also asked myself how Jesus would have reacted if a sister came to him with such grief? Would he have been cold and distant like the elders or would he had held her in his arms like a loving family member? In real life telling her that Job overcame the loss of 10 family members does very little to comfort someone who is suicidal. Every person deals with grief in different ways and there's no one size fits all solution as this video would like you to believe...if Job was able to cope so will you...

Pioneering: How the GB shamelessly capitalizes on members' worldly desire for prominence.
by Island Man inthe bible likens the preaching work to a sacrifice of praise - praise to god.
pioneering is also a sacrifice that involves praise.
it's the sacrifice of a specified number of hours that wins you the praise of men.. when you really analyze the psychology of pioneering it is apparent that the praise of men or prominence before men is at the heart of it.

My dad was chastised by the elders for not signing up for auxiliary pioneer and putting in the required hours...they told him he deprived the congregation the encouragement resulting from knowing he was pioneering! What about the encouragement of seeing him out in service every day of the week? Idiots.

There's nothing wrong with that. The sad thing is that for many JWs these are the only jobs they aspire to because superior education is out of the question. I dropped out of grade 10 in 1970 because I was taught I wouldn't finish college or wouldn't have a career before the end. My lack secular education made it difficult to market my skills to their full value. Of course I acquired skills and experience in the organization, but today I realize that all this could have been done by investing a few more years in school rather than a lifetime in JWisme. It is absolutely normal for children to dream of becoming a fireman, hockey player, astronaut, physician or scientists....it's just sad the organization is full of people content to be window washers and office cleaners...

by minimus inthey claim their schools, literature and teaching are far more superior than any "worldly" education.

Ask any of them who will run the nuclear power plants safely to avoid meltdowns the day after the big A or who will run the hospitals that will treat injured or sick ones? What science will they use to sanitize the earth and prevent epidemics with billions of bodies rotting everywhere?

Will you make SACRIFICES for the kingdom? WT
by bruh2012 inpar 10 - "significant funds are needed to support kingdom activities.
each year tens of millions of dollars are spent caring for the expenses of traveling overseers, special pioneers and missionaries".. so the gb wants you to support their "kingdom interest", but can care less about the local congregation pioneers who for some struggle to make ends meet, who use their gas driving all around the territory putting wear and tear on their cars sometimes not getting gas money to take care of their expenses, let alone any repairs needed.
talking about highway robbery!.

The WTS never issues financial reports to their members so there is no way to know how the donated funds are used...I have never heard of any third party audits...other charities provide such reports and are held accountable to the donators for the way they use their funds...I guess the WTS has it good when they can simply ask for more donations because they spend "millions" supporting voluntary agents...

What's the Watchtower's View of Dedicating Your Time To Charity? Food-bank, Helping Poor Get Benefits, Big Brother, ect..
by RottenRiley indo you know of anyone who sucessfully dedicated time to charity without getting bad mouthed by witness elders?
we had a sister in creepside congregation who got a lot of lip when she was working for the food bank for free.
the jehovah's witnesses elders hinted, used the watchtower study to say "jehovah's people are ambassadors to satan's world and know the real solution is god's kingdom".

Some of the charities are sponsored by churches so obviously there would be an issue. As a dedicated JW you owe all of your free time to Jehovah...

Suspicious,
I used to think the same way because that's what I was told in the WT publications...that only Jehovah's people can achieve higher morals and superior coping skills. We are also taught those leaving the "truth" are unhappy and are gradually corrupted...This isn't the case for me or many more who no longer belong to the cult. I've never been happier and I hope it's the same for you.

The price paid outweigh any benefits I received from slaving for the WTS. It could be compared to getting a university degree in prison while serving a life sentence for a murder you never committed. Doing the math hurts...4 years and your freedom...or a lifetime as a prisoner of a cult!
