My thoughts while watching Schindler's list movie...
by NVR2L8 ini'm not a big movie watcher but last night i watched part of schindler's list.
this was my second attempt to do so because i couldn't watch the whole movie when it first came out.
again last night i cried at the cruelty of it all and hatred behind the extermination of 6 million people because they were of different origin or had different beliefs.

I'm not a big movie watcher but last night I watched part of Schindler's list. This was my second attempt to do so because I couldn't watch the whole movie when it first came out. Again last night I cried at the cruelty of it all and hatred behind the extermination of 6 million people because they were of different origin or had different beliefs. For JWs only Satan could have driven Hitler to such cruelty including the persecution and murder of thousands of faithful JWs during the Holocaust. I couldn't stop thinking of how our loving God Jehovah is about to do the same thing at Armageddon and destroy billions because they have different beliefs or were born in the wrong culture. In the movie there is a part where thousand of dead bodies are being burned and their ashes are coming down like snow all over the city...I was thinking about the billions of bodies that will need to be disposed of after Armageddon. How can JWs see the cruelty in the Holocaust as coming from Satan and still believe their deliverance by their loving God can only be achieved by the destruction of millions of lives at Armageddon? My wife is still in and I wanted to ask her these questions...but unfortunately it would have only led to a dispute about my apostate thinking...

What was the most rebellious thing you did while you were a devout jw?
by DuvanMuvan ini was just thinking about how humans being imperfect and satan's influence was the root of everything bad that anyone has ever done.
well i know that apparently everyone is vulnerable which got me thinking about what "bad" things people have done while they were a jw.
i'll start it off.

In high school I set of a fire alarm to get out of a class. I used to play hockey against police officers and they were dirty players so I lined one up who was looking down at the puck and I knocked him out with a vicious body check.

Photography and HDR
by ILoveTTATT inas i have mentioned before, i love photography, and specially a technique called hdr.
hdr stands for high dynamic range, and it means the ratio of the "lightness" of the lightest spot in the picture to the darkest.. .

I took the exact same photo a few years ago during a conference I attended at the Fairmount...and it was for the introduction of a new type of mirrorless camera with interchangeable lenses also known as compact system camera that uses a full size APS-C sensor. HDR is now available on smartphones like the new Galaxy S5...I know the 16 megapixel phone camera doesn't perform like a real camera...but most users will sacrifice some picture quality for convenience.

effective use of illustrations
by Lied2NoMore inimagine driving along the road and on the side you see a sign that said road closed ahead..... just as you finish reading the sign wham!!.
....you crash into a barrier and total your car....this wouldn't be much of a warning ...hardly fair would it?.
thankfully jehovah's wonderful organization has been sounding a warning for over a hundred years helping people to establish everlasting relationship with all mighty god jehovah!.

Imagine all the scenery you would miss by only looking for the end of the road for thousands and thousands of miles...how boring this would be.

Is anyone else completely astonished that they're drawing attention to 1914/2014 - 100 years
by jambon1 ini note that they're making reference to this in the upcoming convention programme.
someone has has dropped a bollock here, have they not?.
i mean, if i were a jw, i'd be sitting thinking of all the promises made and broken.

It only proves the hold this cult has over its members. They are confident they will lose very few supporters regardless of the changes in their doctrine.....haven't they been all conditioned to believe even what may seem to make no sense to the rest of the world?

I've never seen this scripture quoted in the WT
by UnConfused in1 cor 10:27. if an unbeliever invites you and you want to go, eat whatever is set before you, making no inquiry on account of your conscience.. .
.
i suppose that would mean it's ok to go eat with unbelievers?.

I remember a time when JWs were asking their butchers about the ingredients in the making of sausages to make sure byproducts wasn't blood. In our house we didn't eat peperoni pizza for a long time...we even avoided certain brands of bread and ice cream that contained lecithin...The quoted scripture says there's no need for such an exercise.

They are incapable of being honest
by Pistoff inthe new york times has an article today about denominations (religions) that are selling off property, some of it prestigious.. this is a good read; what i noted is that in all cases but the watchtower, they say it is because they are downsizing, or the changes in the publishing industry, or needing less space.. the watchtower, though, just can't seem ever to tell the truth; they say it is because they needed more modern facilities.. http://www.nytimes.com/2014/03/16/us/denominations-downsizing-and-selling-assets-in-more-secular-era.html?emc=edit_th_20140316&nl=todaysheadlines&nlid=41433560&_r=0.

In the past you could read in the WT magazines how other religions were selling off their buildings and churches for lack of financial support while the JWs were flourishing under Jah's blessing. I guess the organization is not as candid when it comes to their current economic situation.
