Why attempt to explain your beliefs when they are already explained in the WT literature or reasoned out for you in the reasoning book.

I Don't Think The Witnesses Really Care If You Can Explain Doctrine As Long As You Accept Them!
by minimus ingone are the days of getting into discussions about their beliefs.
doing major research to prove a position or watchtower doctrine is a thing of the past.
all they want from you is to surrender and accept everything they say as undeniable truth.. do you agree?.

You should meet Brother Smart Engineer
by garyneal inmy wife, who now thinks i am not competent enough to discuss spiritual matters with the kids, thinks that i could really benefit from discussing matters of the bible with this nasa engineer who attends meetings at her kingdom hall.
apparently, he is quite knowledgeable in the bible and has a good grasp of their doctrines.
at least according to her as i never actually spoken with the man at length but i do know that he is an elder.

Ask your wife if she believes talking to a Muslim engineer would convince you to convert to Islam. We find highly educated people in all religions, but sadly very few among JW...so few that they make a big deal when one comverts and supports their simplistic beliefs.

More JW bragging about the Landover, MD. convention. Please have barf bag at the ready before reading
by AndDontCallMeShirley inthe following e-mail is circulating among jws about the international convention at fedex stadium in landover, md.
note the all-too-familiar jw claims: everything they do (including the simple act of parking cars) is proof of jehovah'stm blessing, and everything wt did at the convention was the fastest, greatest, best ever.
oh, and the never-fails-to-get-mentioned alleged 'persecution'/resistance from some unnamed authority who tried to get in watchtower's way and hamper the effort...but jws prevailed anyway (as always):.

While the holy spirit was busy directing traffic in a parking lot, several JWs praying for a miracle cure to their terminal illness passed away leaving family and friends grieving. Others were beaten and persecuted, died accidentally or in natural disasters. Great job picking your battle holy spirit!

JWs everywhere!
by NVR2L8 ini'm traveling through the us on my motorcycle and yesterday i tried to get a hotel room in indianapolis.
the first 3 hotels were sold out and when i finally found a room i realized that everyone in the hotel were hispanic and wearing lapel id cards for the convention.
the other rider accompanying me is the only active jw i'm friends with so i had to be careful how i handled myself with the brothers...of course he engaged some of them but i managed to keep my conversation to a simple introduction.

The Hotel pool was full of kids...at least they were enjoying some kind of vacation...as it may be all their parents can afford. I hated wasting half of my 2 weeks of vacation to go to the DC. We had to camp because my parents couldn't afford a Hotel with 4 kids. I remember a trailer park near Newark NJ...a gravel lot with trailers side by side.

I watched some of them at the restaurant and they hardly talked to each other or even smile...I felt sad for them and I'm am glad that I no longer have to submit to the same regimen and mind control. I hope not to have lodging problems on the rest of our trip.

Do You Ever Think That You "Loved" Jehovah God?
by minimus ini really wonder about that.
.
just like they say in prayers, that they "love" the governing body---do they really??
-
NVR2L8
I imitated my parents and the ones at the kingdom hall...pretending that I had a relationship with Jehovah...Usually kids grow out of the "imaginary friend" phase...it took me 50 years to grow out of mine.

They finally left...now I can enjoy life without JWism and repetition for emphasis...One of the things I discussed with the brother in law was how it would have been impossible for 8 humans to take care of the animals in the arch when hundreds of employees work at the city zoo...his reply was that god could have miraculously sustained the animals so they didn't need to eat and didn't produce manure...the same answer was used to explain how animals migrated to their current location and multiplied to fill the earth all in only 4000 years...

DF'd for Blood Transfusion
by lambsbottom inso, what is the discipline, if any for a blood transfusion?.
-
NVR2L8
I believe accepting a blood transfusion equates to de associating from the cult and in the view of the congregation members it is the same as being disfellowshiped. The announcement would be the same....so and so is no longer a JW.
