i just wanted to intoroduce myself.

i have been lurking for some time and finally decided to register and hopefully contribute to this great forum.. i am in my mid 30s and have never been in the truth.

my wife became a jw several years ago and since she is a (mostly) stay at home mom my two boys are also jws.

Since I left the cult it is much easier for me to believe there's no god than trying to justify why a "loving and all mighty" deity can sit on the sidelines and watch the cruelty and suffering of his creatures without intervening. I got disillusioned in believing that all this suffering did not matter since god would make things right in the resurrection...what about not letting that suffering happen in the first place. It's like a parent who wouldn't save his child from a burning house because he believes god is going to resurrect his kid to a better life.

What is the biggest hypocrisy you have seen as a witness?

i have far too many to name, but ill start with obscene music, gambling and cussing like a sailor.

all the while preaching to "worldly people" about their impending death at armageddon.

After I realized that I was in a cult but still going to the meetings I went out with the boys and realizes that I was way out of touch with the UFC championship...the brothers knew all about the fighters records and who beat who. I ride motorcycles with a couple of JWs and while walking in downtown Montreal the guys couldn't hide their lust for the sexy women, some even taking a picture of a hot woman stopped at a red light on her crotch rocket motorcycle in a really sexy pose. The guys were laughing and saying they were taking a picture of the bike. This strange for men who are subjected to the WT morality rules. When elders asked for donations from the platform and I never saw any contribution from them in the box when I was the account servant.

when you were "in" did you ever actually enjoy the ministry?

and i made no secret about it.

instead i would joke about me feather knocking, and made sure i had my bible in hand so as they come to the door they know what im about so they can shut me down before i even start.. i always wondered how or why there were people who enjoyed it.

Had dinner with my 80+ years old "lifetime pioneer status" mom and when I asked how she's doing the first words out of her mouth was that the new service year had just started...dance moves and all. Service and meetings is all she knows especially since my dad passed away. Even my brother the elders thinks she's overboard. This is an indication of how deeply she's enslaved by the cult.

some contained powerful opioid fentanyl, a synthetic drug 50 times stronger than heroin found in dozens of pills.

these and other mislabeled drugs were found in luggage belonging to the late music star.

Elders are usually the first to be called when a congregation member is hospitalized, which was the case when Prince's plane had to land for an "health" emergency a few weeks prior to his death. If Prince was so close to the congregation how would the elders not know about his condition?

Sadly I was on a business trip and couldn't attend the memorial but the video was greatly appreciated. It was way different than any JW memorial talks I've attended and no one was trying to force their beliefs onto others. The testimonials from family members were very touching and revealed exactly the kind of person Grace was.

Two Brothers Living Together - Never Dated Girls...

in my old congregation there are two brothers (non related) who are in the early 30s.

they've never dated girls.

they're "best friends".

My never married 60 year old sister has been living with another sister her age for at least the last 25 years. They share a 2 bedroom flat in the city and both had a full time job until the friend retired last year. When my sister comes for a visit she's usually on her own but occasionally she's taken her room mate along to visit or on trips with my wife and I. When younger my sister attracted the interest of a few boys but I don't think she wanted to have to answer or submit to a husband. That's what she said to a bossy elder who didn't like that her stylish dresses were too short in his opinion. Having been raised with boys she know her ways around cars and she even rides a motorcycle. Still she is very feminine in her ways like her friend who is a very attractive woman at 60. I could see how the neighbours would view them as a couple and although I wouldn't be offended if they were, I believe that they're best friends living in the same flat and that they adhere to the JW doctrine.

Several years back I believe there was a WT article that mentioned that if our living arrangements could be perceived by neighbors as an homosexual couple that it would be better to live separately...does anyone remember that?

When you started posting I wrote that your letters would end up in file 13 (trash can) because the WT can't be wrong and it cannot be reformed. The very fact you wasted your time and energy to write theses letters indicated that you had no intention of leaving the cult from the start regardless of finding out the WT is a scam. I hope you haven't blown your cover because you could find yourself losing your precious spiritual family.

Why start preaching work in 1876? Something to ask JW's who are still in

we learn from the bible that the characters that preached doomsday messages, such as lot, noah, etc all got to see the result of the message they preached, we studied that the final judgement from god was seen by the preacher as well as the people that heard and ignored the message.

my point is this, it would have been ridiculous for noah to start preaching to people, put the fear of god in all the listeners that the flood is coming, build the ark and then as a result, nothing happens to them.

even if the flood would have happened later, let's say 50 years after noah and all the people that heard him have died from natural causes.

ok so i was stupid and looked at the text for today, i do not know why i did it.

i lost a couple of brain cells and put myself into an even deeper depression over it.

it was just that my husband had it out and i thought what can it hurt, wondering what they are up to.

LITS, I feel exactly the same way when I attempt to read or watch anything from the Watch Tower that my wife leaves in plain sight. I watched part of Cedars review on the 2016 Remain Loyal assembly and the video of the sessions just upsets me especially when I think the woman I love believes it all. I can't watch more than a few minutes before I feel like destroying my mobile device. How can JWs not see that their religion has transformed itself into what we use to condemned like begging for money and broadcasting sermons like televangelists.
