I am in a similar situation. My former best friend got married overseas...and now someone in the congregation has organized a get together in-lieu of a wedding reception. My whole family is invited and my wife asked me if I was coming with them...I said that I hadn't decided. I just don't want to go and see all these people with their fake smiles, pretending that everything is cool when I know that they are all speculating on why I stopped going to the meetings. None of them will be able to hold a meaningfull conversation - all they will talk about revolves about their cult. On the other hand I know my wife would really love me to accompany her...socializing and dancing...

by Coffee House Girl inwell since there is no "betting" (as it reeks of gambling) in jdub land, lets place a friendly wager on what will happen to me when i go to my father's "memorial" service at the kingdome hall this saturday..... to give you newbies background info: i am neither df'd or da'd- i left 2 years ago with no explanation.
i have been hounded by elders in my cong because they have suspicions that i am living with a man, but they have no proof (well, no proof in jdub land- you know...two witness rule).
after many attempts to get me to meet with them- i finally sent the elders a "cease & desist" letter after one of them spied in my miniblinds to see me eating breakfast with someone (they couldn't identify who).

WT books thrown into the dumpster...
by NVR2L8 infor the last few weeks i have been pretty busy as we were moving to a new house.
my wife did most of the packing but when it came to the move, i realized that there are things we own that we had forgotten about because we haven't used them for years!
on top of the list was old wt publications that no longer contain the "truth" and publications available on the wt cd.

Don't worry Trebor...the dumpster was large enough to drive ma car in...
and yes Wha Happened, my wife packed them all and we had to move them...with the help of some of the "brothers" that she invited to help. I must admit they worked very hard and were very friendly...at first I felt bad that they came to help someone who is betraying the cult and has no intentions of ever going back...but I quickly realized that each and every one of them benefited from my help (financial or other) at one point in the past.

For the last few weeks I have been pretty busy as we were moving to a new house. My wife did most of the packing but when it came to the move, I realized that there are things we own that we had forgotten about because we haven't used them for years! On top of the list was old WT publications that no longer contain the "truth" and publications available on the WT CD. After some resistance from my still active wife, I was able to convince her that some of those books belonged in the dumpster, especially the ones that would get you in trouble if you still believed what they contained! Some of these books were never opened after we "purchased" them from the WT and we only got them because everyone else were. We could all have used the ones from the KH library...which are also rarely used. So all the WT and Awake volumes we owned since the 70's and all old books were dumped! The only thing that would have made me happier is if I burned them instead. Now my bookshelves are empty...and I can fill them with books that I choose to read and that contain the truth in all its dimensions.

Been there more then a dozen times from Canada, mostly for work. Once my wife and I went with another couple and he is an elder. We saw some shows, visited the diffrent Hotels, went to the Grand Canyon....on Sunday morning we went to the Kingdom Hall. I remember the red face of the teenager who was reading the WT...it was on today's young people who engage in sex acts believing that it is OK because it is not full intercourse...I even met someone I knew from way back then...

this updated info could have a great effect on those who need to hear the truth of the truth.. you could also do a video about the gb/annointed and how annointed are not so important, how now thier numbers are not important even though its one of the five lines of evidence were in the last days, show some quotes of how we obey them.
that anointed are feeding us but that they have no more spirit than any of us.. you have some great video's and it would be nice to see one or two more.

Although the increasing number has a significance for those who are no longer blinded by the "light", the Watchtower has already started addressing this issue to minimize the impact on their members. Their explanation is that they do not know the exact number of annointed...they only know the number of "partakers", some of which could be emotionally disturbed, wannabees or even some who have held to their past religious belief that they would go to heaven...JWs will accept this explanation since it is written in the WT...

In our congregation they proceed the same way as described above by sir82- a legitimate reason to step down would be confirmed by having the brother still offer prayer at the end of the meeting in which the announcement of the deletion was made...not having the brother pray may leed some to believe something went wrong...in my case I didn't attend the meeting when it was announce that brother NVR2L8 no longer serves as a MS but I am sure they would have asked me to pray to close the meeting...but I would have refused.

Why did you feel the need to announce your last post? Did you need "our" sympathy or did you expect anyone cared whether you posted or not? All you had to do is stop posting...but no! You make a last attempt to show off you self-righteousness and you pompous attitude - a clear reflection of the organization you worship. I read many of your posts and you always found a way to avoid answering "hard" questions - because the answers to these questions do not match the answers you are being fed by your publishing god. Unlike the confines of your "bible-based" meetings where the only acceptable opionions are the ones whispered to you by the WTS, here on this board we can differ in opinions, debate ideas or even disagree and no one is forced to conform or desist. I understand why someone like you would be uncomfortable in such an environment since you are not used to think for yourself. So just stay within the confines of your controlled atmosphere until your thinking ability suffocates to unexistance.
