Both operating systems are similar and the learning curve is the same. With iOS you commit to one brand (Apple) and compatibility with other non Apple devices is limited. Android OS is found in many brands of smartphones and tablets. These devices are all compatible with each other, including Windows PCs to share content such as photos, music and videos. If you're already using a Mac or own an iPhone, go for an iPad. If you own a PC or a smartphone go for a Android tablet. I love my Galaxy Tab S and my Galaxy S5 phone...but Apple products are great too, but remember that you are limited to the Apple devices with iOS.

Dismember...In one 3 week trip I rode across Canada from East to West and made the return trip through the US. Rode in the Canadian Rockies, National Glacier Park, Yellowstone Park, Mount Rushmore...11000 km trip.

August vacations cancelled
by wandasoo inhad a vacation planned for august, but got the rug pulled out from under my feet.
hubby said he wanted to go in september, but gave me no reason.
i finally told him i knew he had to pioneer in august.

In our house it's now the other way around. My wife went to visit relatives and accompanied them to the assembly last weekend. I was surprised to hear her say that the assembly she's assigned to attend interfered with our vacation. I know she hates going to these events on her own and she also knows I will go on vacation with or without her. Mind you, it wasn't always like that. With time she realized that I am no longer walking to the beat of anyone's drum, especially not the WT. I will not interfere with her JW activities as long as they don't affect our life together.

What Makes A Good Friend?
by krejames ini just came back from vacation with my sister who is in her mid 40s and is an active jw, regular pioneer of many years.
while away, during one of our conversations, it bacame clear to me that my sister is lonely and doesn't have a social life.
she's too old to be included in the plans of the younger generation and, as she is not married, doesn't get included in the "marrieds" set.

I am sorry for your sister, but this is happening in most congregations. The JW friendships are defined (like the territory) by congregation....close friends move to another congregation and in time you no longer hear from them regardless of how close you were. It is not only true with friends but also with family. So imagine how quickly you are forgotten when you "abandon" them and become inactive. I was active for 50 years and I was very hospitable and yet when I left not one of the friends even called...worse, they surely must think of me when they see my wife at the meeting! Nope...just the less and less frequent salutations through my wife. Who needs that kind of extended circle of friends! On the other hand I'm still in touch with people I worked with 40 years ago at my first job.

Shaving: Wet or Electric?
by FL_Panthers insomething i ponder about now and again.
i don't shave that much, maybe twice a week so it's not even a big deal, but i saw someone at the health club using an electric shaver and that got me pondering all over again.. .
i've been using mach iii recently and fairly happy with that.

For me electric shavers take too long and don't shave close enough so I had to shave again before going to the meeting. Now I use disposable dual blades and shave on week days only.
