OH NO!! The latest clip for kids on JW.ORG so very wrong!
by stuckinarut2 inso the latest clip on jw.org for kids is so wrong!.
it is about the "victory song".
lets all sing songs about how vengeful and destructive "our loving god" can be...along with cartoonish pictures...... all rejoice at the death of the evil people who used their "god-given free will", then got punished for doing so!.

How did you find the truth about the truth (TTATT)
by Maat13 ini am sure there has been a post about this subject, however being a recent addition to the network i don't know how to do a search.
and i'm sure new folks have joined since then.
i am really curious of how others came to know ttatt.. for me is was a real bad experience with one elder after another.

When (in 2006 when I was 24) I decided to research about the JW's beliefs.
I started with Babylon The Great in Wikipedia, and the rest is history...

Yes I think is the one who can hide the double life.
Every JW (must) have a double life.

The Self Delusion
by John_Mann inwe already are very familiar with the god delusion, but what to think about the property of being self aware is just another illusion?.
buddhism asserts that and many people does not know that the very materialism (physicalism) asserts that too.. how can an illusion be self aware to be an illusion in itself?
what would change in your life if you accept this?.

poppers Yes I know this explanation, but if this Self is the only thing that exists then we still can say there's no individuality at all. There's no John_Mann "True Self" and one popper's "True Self" because it's just one thing.
Plato and Kant said that every object have a "true self" in an ideal realm (Plato) and these ideal "objects" are the only things-in-itself (Kant).
But Schopenhauer gone further and said if the real existence is beyond categories (time, space, etc) so there's no sense to keep the individualization among ideal objects. In this ideal realm must exist just one thing that he called "Will to Live" (Shunyata, Brahman...), a kind of blind force/energy that (for some unknown reason) needs to manifest itself in an objective world with the illusion of multi-individualization (Vishnu becoming infinite beings [Vishvarupa] in Baghavad Gita).
In Physics we have a similar concept called quantum vacuum fluctuation, a kind of "pregnant void", an empty state that can give origin to an entire universe.
Even in this sense, there's no self or Self.

But Haidt's moral intuition is an automatic process, Watson is full of automatic processes. I don't understand your point.
I use intuition as defined by Jung, an ability to abstract things and take free (sometimes random) relationships among them. In this case, Watson have a lot of intuition too.
I think the next decade we will face the challenge to give full human rights to artificial beings, just like the women, black people, pagans, atheists and gays in the past.

It's very rare to have some control in dreams, but sometimes we can experience lucid dreams.

You don't need freewill to feel good. In dreams we do not have freewill but we can have pleasant dreams though. The ultimate reality would be a dream with freewill.

Did you bring anyone in the "Truth"
by rrb2016 inmy mom has been a jw since 1968...never brought anyone into the "truth.
" what are your experiences?
what was your "closing ratio?

I have become convinced that in order to bring someone into the truth you have to have a variety of mental disorders that make controlling others thoughts behavior and actions desireable.
I think you must be the manipulative sort that thinks everything you believe is right and you are willing to treat someone as stupid for not following your direction.
