  Do you make active witnesses uncomfortable?

  this weekend my wife and i visited with another couple, who although they are inactive, they also invited active witinesses to the their home along with us.

  we knew most of the people there and they are aware that we are inactive - no big deal.

  however there was one brother who did not know that were are inactive.

  When I go to a local supermarket, the wife of an elder is a check-out person, I always get in her line (10 items or less). I think the look on her face is classic. Some where between pained and annoyed.

  Personally, I thought she was/is a good person that was mislabeled as a snot because she is extremely shy. She absolutely adored my son and daughter when they were little and still attending meetings with their mother before she left. Last week when I went to the store with my kids, she saw them and talked to them, till she saw me the eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee-vil DF'd monster, and then went away.

  My kids still remembered her, and thought she was a very nice woman. They just don't get the shunning thing. I hope they never will have to.

  I would agree with the "origin of malicious gossip" statement.

  However, just to point this out, and I know this is the exception rather than the rule. My dad (P.O. and WT Study Conductor, in every Hall we attended) never, ever spoke about topics in Elders' meetings to me or my mom.

  Yeah, yeah, yeah.

  My dad blamed everythin that has happened to me over the past years of being Borg-free to this issue. Job turn-over, divorce, long periods of unemployment, addiction, etc.

  Never mind the fact, that I didn't have a college education (the reason for my retail sales & management experience), I lacked social skills neccessary for interaction with non-JWs, inability to voice frustration and anger in a proper manner (I tended to blow-up, and not diffuse my anger positively), etc. etc.

  If it weren't for the Borg, I don't think I would have been half the mess that I became upon leaving, and am in the process of fixing.

  i'm trying to develop a more positive attitude, so i'm trying to look for the good in everything, even the wts.

  i think jws are good for the economy because:.

  1. they spend money in tim hortons which provides employment for people and helps boost the economy.

  I don't have an issue with Moore's slanting issues to "fit his vision." What I have a problem with is him doing this under the guise of a documentary, and as "objective facts."
