I was always told 'the Watchtower' which I always found excruciating. It wasn't fun to conduct either. I used to volunteer for car park duty just to escape the tedious nonsense!

The Most Important Witness Meeting Is...
by metatron inthe theocratic ministry school..... well, let's see ... it's conducted by an elder who's stuck with the job and often doesn't want it.
the quality of the meeting keeps sinking over time as witlesses can't read well or explain more than a couple proof texts.
the "ministry" doesn't generate converts by itself, anyway..... the book study?

"Who else are we to go away to?"
by simon17 into the intellectually honest witness, it seems like it often comes down to this principle.
"fine, if the witnesses aren't the truth, then show me the better answer and i'll consider it.
" and how do you deal with that?

I thought the scripture this relates to pointed to Jesus as the 'whom'.
Not a man made organization.

Yes! Assimilate at all costs. Bums on seats. Less pioneering hours for the mock the Christ memorial season. Let's get out there and bring 'em in by any means (except means that actually work that is!)!

If my house was on fire I wouldn't wait for another to come on the market before I ran like merry hell. Same thing. There doesn't HAVE to be somewhere alternative to go. I don't have to swap one ritual for another. 'Nowhere' is better that in an Antichrist pyramid big business cult posing as a religion.
I don't want hope that is just a delusion. I prefer harsh reality!!

Does The Watchtower even try to prove 607BCE anymore?
by VM44 inwhen was the last time that the watchtower published an article that attempted to prove the year 607 b.c.e.
was correct over the year 587 b.c.e.?.
the watchtower now simply mentions the year in its publications without attempting to justify it.. proof through repetition?.

@blondie I know my dear. I admire your ability to read and critique the watchtower without wanting to jump off the nearest cliff. Been an admirer of your work since I joined the other forum too.

@Desirousofchange = Just had a Jdub friend explain that one should never accept history over Bible chronology. History can be wrong!
Am I getting this? What Bible chronology is there that is disputed by history?
Does this friend really mean: 'I blindly accept the watchtower explanitions even when it contradicts the Bible!'??
How can history be wrong? History is what happened..................oh, wait, Faith in Action DVD..............history can be altered to favour the watchtower!!

@blondie = w89 3/15 pp. 21-22 pars. 16-19 Insight That Jehovah Has Given ***17 Jehovah’s Witnesses have been interested in the findings of archaeologists as these relate to the Bible. However, where the interpretation of these findings conflicts with clear statements in the Bible,
"Clear statements in the Bible"...? Do they mean 'screwed up doctrine of the Watchtower'?
Am I missing something here?

@st George of england =g12/10p.21MoreMajorEarthquakesExpected***
Based on the long history of major earthquakes shaking our planet, it is fair to say that we should expect more in the years to come.
No $hit Sherlock? Expect more earthquakes? Wow what a stupendous prediction! Proof the GB are God's own mouthpeice!
WaitWaitWait (said very quickly) Interesting the say 'in the years to come'! So, not expecting the big A then?
May the 'overlapping' continue!
