Reason for new study editions and the topics within.

i might be rambling on.... i attended the meeting tonight.

i'm not sure how it is in other halls.

there are about 120 publishers in our hall, in the midwest.

I have absolutely no idea how the cult leaders are working this one. Will it result in more 'placements'? Will it result in more recruits?

I don't know if there is an evil ulterior motive behind everything the GB does because I haven't concluded if they are just deluded weirdos, know it's all crud but it gives them a comfortable life, a mixture of both or what.....?

I do feel however, that the WTB$ is on somewhat of a downward spiral and getting more and more dogmatic and cult like to retain members. I am of the impression it's building up to something.

New simplified Watchtower

beginning with the july 15th 2011 edition of the watchtower, the society are producing a simplified version of the study copy.. this is apparantly for the many people whose first language is not english, and yet they live in a predominantly englsih speaking county.. the normal study edition will still be produced but it looks like the cong.

will be able to ask for a supply of the simplified version each month.. this simplified version can be downloaded from the watchtower site.. http://www.jw.org/index.html.

How can they dumb down the 'bait and switch' and other mind control tactics any more?

How far are you on your journey away from the JW Org?

i mentally left the org in march 2010. i stepped down as an elder after my lad got into trouble.

i researched the publications to make myself 'spiritually strong' but it backfired.. i was in mental and emotional turmoil, still on fs, the platform and meetings etc.

i had to force myself to conform to ever failing jw doctrine.. i announced to my family that i was not going back to meetings in august 2010 after the 'overlapping' joke of 'new light'.. i told the elders not to call.

Seems we can walk away from the publishing corporation but our loved one who are still in are a source of pain.

We see how they are deceived and manipulated to waste their time forcing watchtowers on people and provide power and cash for the WTB$.

We see how they will shun us or treat us as crap if we leave the 'truth' as defined by 'just imperfect men' in the U.S.

We see how logical argument and sound reasoning are swiped aside as they refuse to wake up from the delusion they accept from 'just imperfect men' in Brooklyn.

Thanks again for your accounts. They are most interesting!

Meeting was totally soulless, joyless

i went to a sunday meeting recently (for family reasons).

it was the first meeting i'd attended in a few years.

i couldn't help but notice how utterly soulless it was.

I used to volunteer for car park duty. Fresh air and a chat with those who needed to 'stretch their legs' or confort their crying kiddies outside the souless, cold, clinical main hall.

Again I say the meetings are NOT worship! They are homage to cult leaders.

If the meetings were actual worship IE. praise and song, they wouldn't be so dead.

What does one expect from a GB, guilt, fear and phobia promotion session?

Watchtower - simple doctrine for simple people

i know there are some intelligent witnesses that really research their beliefs, but the more i learn, the simpler and more ignorant watchtower doctrine appears.

that opinion is certainly not helped by some of the apologists that appear on this site.

most watchtower doctrine is a product of the black and white syndrome, where all the obvious shades of grey in between are simply ignored with statements such as "wait on jehovah".

It amazes me how it's all about 'works, works, works!'

Slave for the watchtower all your life, sacrifice marriage, happiness and money........then masturbate (or Insert bad deed), just as armageddon kicks off and you're dead!

Whatever happened to the gift of everlasting life?

I faced it last year and admitted to myself = The JW's are simply a big business posing as a religion!

April "Pioneers" - a large army

anecdotally , from my ( rapidly diminishing number of ) jw contacts , it does seem that the april 30 hour pioneer campaign is going well.

some congregations have over 1/2 the publishers on the pioneer list for april , including all the elders & ms. .

When I aux pio-sneered, I did 50 hours to qualify for eternal life. How generous god is that you can work for salvation with less hours in April.

I thought eternal life was a 'gift' he gave not earned by works.............shows what I know!!

It's odd that neither Mrs Punk or Daughter Punk have signed up for this everlasting life voucher redeemable at armageddon (terms and guilt trips apply and subject to overlapping). I say that as they are both far more zealous in the publishing corporation than they ever were when I was an Elder.

It can be a new comedy from the watchtower DVD collection, with Jim Dale in it = ''Carry on Fake those report slips''!!

My Study Conductor Jumped Ship - Any Possible Explanations?

my study conductor has informed me that he & his wife are switching to a foreign language congregation that is far away from the territory they live in (it will involve a lot of driving back & forth).

because he is switching congregations, he said he will not have the energy to devote to my study and recommended another brother who could take over, and i have met him.

however, this change happened simultaneously with a decision i have made.

I agree with others here. It could be a combination of factors. I suspect you are a conundrum for your study conductor.

I believe there is a part inside many JW's minds that something is very wrong with the corporation. They don't want to wake up to the reality though! They scurry from anything that threatens the delusion.

as for...."there is no arrangement for email Bible studies."

I'd say: 'Then make an arrangement!''

Or is he afraid he's committing something to 'writing' that can be used in 'evidence' later?

This also smacks of the TOTAL CONTROL the Org has over it's victims. Mental dependancy is enforced on every utterance in the Pharisee letters that come from 'Mother' (to all Bodies of Elders, Dear Brothers.....yak yak yak), that dictate every facet of the corporation that must be followed or else!!

Perhaps someone else will call on you and offer you a 'free home watchtower ...er Bible study........'
