2 JW's at my door today with Memorial Invite, 30 min conversation
by lovelylil inthis brother who is new to the local hall has no clue i am an apostate in the wt's eyes.
he was with a sister who also did not know me.
we had a great conversation for 30 minutes about jesus the 144,000 and the heavenly calling.

When I ask: 'Will Jar-Hoover kill me at armageddon?'
I always get 'I don't know. It's up to him!' (When they know the answer is 'Yes! He'll lovingly kill you and make you bird food!'
I hate that 'forcefield' they put up when you talk and how they CANNOT reason on anything.
Provide a scriptural basis to refute the watchtower or have concrete evidence and all I hear is:
Wait on Jar-Hoover.
The F&DS wouldn't do that. It's Satan lying.
The scriptures are deep and only the F&DS can interpret them for us.

New simplified Watchtower
by alanv inbeginning with the july 15th 2011 edition of the watchtower, the society are producing a simplified version of the study copy.. this is apparantly for the many people whose first language is not english, and yet they live in a predominantly englsih speaking county.. the normal study edition will still be produced but it looks like the cong.
will be able to ask for a supply of the simplified version each month.. this simplified version can be downloaded from the watchtower site.. http://www.jw.org/index.html.

by hotiwitabody234 ini might be rambling on.... i attended the meeting tonight.
i'm not sure how it is in other halls.
there are about 120 publishers in our hall, in the midwest.

by LostGeneration inthis is one of the most aggressive watchtowers i think i have ever read.. four study articles on not "following the crowd" not following unrealities(page 13) not following false teachers, meaning apostates of course(p 15).
avoiding false teachers means "refusing to read their literature, watch tv programs that feature them, examine their web sites, or add comments to their blogs.
(para 7, pg 16).

@WTWizard = If anything, I think it's the witlesses that have the "mental disease".
In my opinion and based on what I've seen (even as an Elder), there is a lot of mental illness in the cult. A lot of depression in the 'happy organization' not to mention suicides and those on 'suicide watch'.
Amazing how when one of them commits murder or somesuch they suddenly shout: 'He was never REALLY one of us!'

I ended my bible study today
by still thinking ini have officially stopped my bible study today.
i have been trying to for weeks (after 10 years of on/off studying).
it got to the stage where i was asking too many of those questions that made everyone feel uncomfortable.

I don't know if anyone has said this yet but what you were actually studying was merely the watchtower publications with scripture (often out of context, linked with no real provable Biblical link), bunged in them to make the point they want to enforce. Well, that's my opinion at least. Others may disagree and that's fine.
I don't know of many a JW that DARE study the Bible without the watchtower publications as this is something they admitted themselves:
“They say that it is sufficient to read the bible exclusively, either alone or in small groups at home. But, strangely, through such ‘Bible reading,’ they have reverted right back to the apostate doctrines that commentaries by Christendom’s clergy were teaching 100 years ago…”—The Watchtower, August 15, 1981, pp. 28-29
If God gave us his word then obviously his message IS what ''Christendom's clergy were teaching 100 years ago…”
Well done on quitting before it becomes hell for you and you are trapped.
