I must say villabolo your plan is very interesting. People getting back to basic way of life. That seems to be the big problem in the world today were people want stuff and more stuff and cheap stuff. I really like it alot. My wife and I would enjoy a place like that. Totally ADD

A frog in boiling water?
by hoser ini don't know where i've heard it before(perhaps from a circuit overseer talk) but someone associated with jehovahs witnesses made the analogy.
that if you put a frog in a pot of boiling water it will jump out immediately, but if you put the same frog in a pot of cold water and slowly heat it up.
the frog will not notice the gradual temperature change and will cook to death.. the overseer or elder used this illustration as a warning to say that gradual changes in morals around us- we will not notice and get cooked alive.

work, field service, meetings.

My thing is gardening I love to think up unconventional ways to raise vegetables. As I get older I am always coming up with ways were it does not break my back. That and I would love to take up bowling again. Totally ADD

What Doctrines or JW Views Did You Not Find Too Believable?
by minimus inthe thought that a loving creator would violently destroy anyone not belonging to the jehovah's witness religion including billions of babies seemed just not right.. the fact that you could recieve some "acceptable" blood components but could not donate those same lifesaving yourself seemed strange.
you could recieve a blood fraction but you couldn't give it.. any others you can think of?

Why do the 144,000 only have to be good up to their death were the great crowd have to be good and survive the big A then have to be good during the 1000 year reign then have to be good even more and survive Satans attack at the end of 1000 year reign. Dear jamiebowers, I did not know you went though this. I am so sorry for you. What you did was right for your situation and don't let anybody tell you otherwise. Don't let the ignornace of some poeple get you so upset. They don't know or don't understand what it is like to be abused by a pervert in the congregation and what it does to your emotional well being. The elders in my daugter-in-laws congregation tried to make her forgive her abuser. It was just enough to make you sick. I understand how you feel. Thats why I hate this cult. Totally ADD

i originally joined this forum to find out what my husband was "up to".

Welcome applehippie, Just wokeup glad you and your husband was able to work things out. I was a husband who gave my wife hell also. Professional help saved our marriage and help us both to wake up and find freedom. As to what to believe? My wife has found her way, as far as me I am still looking. Good luck to you in your search. I know it's Friday but let me tell you a experience from my youth

he asked me what jw believed?
so from what i knew i explained how we were the only true reglion, that our god's name was jehovah and he was going to kill everybody who was not a jw and you need to become a jw or you are going to be killed also.

What can I say I did not know much about the faith even though I was a born in and that's about all my parents ever talk about. Going to the hall that's about all I ever heard. Well his answer to me was his reglion taught that Jesus love's everybody and all we had to do was believe in Jesus and we will be happy and he will protect us and help us through lifes problems. Jesus will always love us because we love him. That was the first time in my life I was ever told about the love of Jesus and how he loved us for who we are and Jesus was willing to help us and protect us from harm. Of course at the age of 14 it went into one ear out the other. It was only about 3 years ago after reading a thread on this site that life experience from my youth came to my mind. How sad I felt the day that memory came up. All the hate and fear I was taught as a child from this cult. And here I had a friend who was really a true witness telling me about the love of Jesus. sir 82 I know they link smoking to spiritism but they also use chicken in spritism also. So I quess we should not order chicken nuggets at McDonald's or we could be DF. As far as coffee goes. Guility as charged. With ADD it is my drug of choice with a little cream thank you. Totally ADD
