it was just too good, or bad - depending on your perspective.
you will see the use of fear and guilt in this information - laying it on witnesses heavy as the title says " christian families - " keep ready " indicating armageddon is so close - so don't get wrapped up in materialism.. right from the get-go in the 1st paragraph fear tactics are used .

April "Pioneers" - a large army
by dozy inanecdotally , from my ( rapidly diminishing number of ) jw contacts , it does seem that the april 30 hour pioneer campaign is going well.
some congregations have over 1/2 the publishers on the pioneer list for april , including all the elders & ms. .

Remember when the CO visit each KH and he goes over the hour average per pub. they will all be up. So at the end of this service year Aug.31 the field service hours will be way up for the whole world. This will give the GB something to brag about in their next yearbook of 2012. Telling everbody that Jehovah is speeding up the world because the end is near. Totally ADD

Talk to my brother on the phone today. He must have just read this WT. As he said the world is so bad before you know it. It will go upside down and the pople will wonder whats going on. The Big A is just around the corner. I can't believe and man who thinks he is so smart can not see through this crap. Again all is is recyled writings from the 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's, 2000-2010 and beyond. Everybody is unset with the gym at Walkill. No one talks about the expensive gym in the Adam's buildings. It something else also. If I listen to this crap I would still be living in my first place a 12x60 mobile home my wife and I bought back in 1975. Yes NO DOUBT since 1914 the WT does not have a clue what it is to live in the real world. Totally ADD

attended the circuiit assembly today
by im stuck in inwell i went with the wife today to the sunday circuit assembly.
it is really sad to listen to the talks and see the many people that i know.
one talk actually suggested that wisdow is wrong , to me it was just more support that we have all you need why do any research on your own.

May of 2009 was my last CA and I only went on Sat. I got so upset when the DO gave a talk on depression and his advice was to go out and exercise. He said he once was depress for a few days and he read article in the Awake that said exercise help depression. I just sunk in my seat and shook my head. Seating just a few rows from me was this sister who suffered with depression so bad she was cutting herself to help her deal with the depression. She just started crying when she heard that. That DO was a real jerk. For one reason or another I have not been to a assembly or DC since 2009. You are right "d" they are still mindnumbing. Totally ADD

Isn't funny how the WT told everbody that believing in Santa Clause was telling your children a lie. A person who was nice and happy and gave you gifts was bad. But believing in Armageddon were everbody gets killed is OK and something we should look forward to. It's amazing all us born-ins have not gone out and hang ourselves. It's a CULT. Increase in demon activity?
by Igot2bme inwhen i first started studying i was told that i would notice that the demons would try to stop me from recieving accurate bible knowledge.
well i never really witnessed anything unusual like objects flying through the air, bleeding walls, increased nightmares or something of that nature.
almost all the people that i know who have become baptized have a story or two about this having happened to them.

30 years of bound volumes make it to the curb .....
by troubled mind inour box of watchtower and awake bound volumes have sat out in the garage the past five yrs .
this week is city wide clean up so we finally toted them to the curb .
those suckers are heavy !

Because we are moving soon we had 40 years of those things in our shed. They have been sitting in boxes for over 7 years. You are right they are heavy. Since we live out in the country we have a place in our back yard for burning. Five or six big boxes plus all kinds of other stuff. Had some used oil so we poured it on them. Within few hours they were nothing but ashes. My wife and I say we burned them in effigy. Sure is fun to get rid of all that dead weight. Totally ADD

Just had my first JW visit in almost 13 years. . . weirder than I could have thought.

Good job Ilovebirthdays. That poor soul needed someone who would listen to her. She knew the JW friends would not understand. They will either blame her or tell her to wait on Jehovah. The big problem is she has a husband who is a closet alcoholic. It is hard to get help for a elder who is a alcoholic. All they have to say is I like to have a drink everyday or I don't get drunk. Even if he has only one drink a day because he feel he needs it he is a alcoholic. Your friend has a very large problem. This could be your opportunity to help her if she is willing. Look up a 12 step program and learn what she may be able to do to help her husband. When and if she comes to you again feel her out on how she feels about that matter then in a non threatening way maybe you could give her some imformation on alcoholicism. I hope I am not being to bold with you on this matter. I just see a door opening up for you to help a friend. What you did as a sounding board for her was great. Hopefully she will remember your kindness you showed to her. Best of luck to you. Totally ADD

What show scared you as a kid?
by Been there inposting on wtlies thread i got to thinking about the shows i watched as a kid.
there were a couple that scared the &*^% out of me.
the old twilight zone where the little demon guy was on the airplane wing was really scary.

Robdar that book scared me to. At 4 years of age this was a book for children in 1958. On TV Twillight Zone were the little boy fell through the wall into another dimension and was loss. Scared the death out of me because as a kid my bed was up against the wall. My parents were so mad at me for being scared. Also the movie "Fiend without a Face" another one that gave me nightmares. Being raised in a cult mixed with horrible old movies can really mess up a kid. Totally ADD

I never could understand why I was forced to do something I did not want to do. Field service, meetings, giving talks and not being able to like anybody outside the JW world. My parents were extreme in their cult minded thinking. No sports, no outside friends, no unbelieving relatives and us against the world thinking. This allowed very bad people into my life who did unspeakable things to me. This actually numb me and beat me down to were I felt this was the truth and their was no were else to go. Got married to young, raised two children, and thought if I became a elder I could change things I thought were wrong in JW world. Boy was I wrong. Depression kick in even harder and finally I went outside JW world and got help. After that my eye's and mind were open. The fiction of the flood was the first. Then the GB replacing Jesus as the head of the congregation with themselves. Big one the child abuse. In my family and extended family along I know of 6 pedophiles who have cause extreme damage. And finally the lack of love and understanding within JW world. Many just don't get it. It took me 53 years to wakeup. I was a hard nut to crack. If I can do it, please don't give up hope on your loved ones that you are trying to convince to get out. Being a Born-in into a cult really sucks. Only those who have experience it can fully understand what it is like. Totally ADD
