What you think consequences gonna be for watchtower if they lose the court appeal in Norway?
by Hellothere inpersonally i think they gonna realise god's not backing org.
that idea gonna get even more established in their minds.
i think the real selling of kingdom hall gonna start then.

It's a risky game if the WT appeal it and go higher because if there was a chance to lose that then all they have done is highlighted to a further audience the issues.
It sure seems to me that they are LOSING a majority of legal cases they are in recently. They surely have to have concerns about this and the appearance it projects. It's easy to see the danger of a precedence being set in one member of the EU that could cause a domino effect on their status in all of them.

the toll of being PIMO
by enoughisenough infor those of you who are pimo, how do you feel it may be effecting your mental and physical health?
is it easy to pretend to be what you are not?
how do you feel about falsely supporting the pimi which builds them up and therefore an org you don't believe in?

What specifically was it for you?
Situations that were finally sufficient evidence to me that there truly was no direction by "Holy Spirit". Yes, I feel pretty damn stupid and/or gullible when I admit I actually DID believe in that Voodoo Hocus Pocus (as I call it now) concept.
Elders appointed by HS?
What about the guy appointed (by HS?) who was having an adulterous relationship that had gone on for EIGHT YEARS?
What about the elder who was in an adulterous relationship with a person with whom he was "studying" and planning to confess to the elders and divorce his wife until the notice from the CO that he was chosen (by HS?) to deliver a keynote talk at the District Convention? He delayed his "confession" and divorce until after the convention as it was his opinion that HS had determined HE WAS THE BEST PERSON to deliver that talk. WTF?
What about the malicious, underhanded dealing between elders vying for positions and status or even just the vicious campaigning to get the votes of the BOE to support them? AHHHH, YOU CAN FEEL THE LOVE!
There's the short version.

The Jehovah's Witness religion has ''Jumped the Shark''
by RULES & REGULATIONS inwhat does jump the shark mean?.
the phrase “jump the shark” is a term in pop culture that originated from the tv show “happy days” and is used to describe a decline in quality.
it refers to the moment when a tv show or other product has reached its peak and starts to decline in quality.

It seems they have to get them pre teen to be unbaptised publishers and then get them baptised before they have the mental capacity to think for themselves
Exactly! Then they have them in their clutches with the threat of taking away all of their friends and most of their family.
BUT, this is the exact thing that was the "GOTCHA" in Norway. The fact that a person (esp a youth) cannot choose to leave without serious ramifications is a violation of Human Rights.
WT may not care about violating Human Rights, but they sure as shit care about losing their status as a religion/charity and losing the MONEY!

It is pretty easy to get their grift, unless you are just gullible.
A lot of us were pretty damn gullible for a long time. Way too long in my case. It seems a lot of people are still that gullible.

ARTICLE: Jehovah’s Witnesses investing more than $50M on Woodbury project
by AndersonsInfo inhttps://libn.com/2024/03/04/jehovahs-witnesses-investing-more-than-50m-on-woodbury-project/.
long island business news.
march 4, 2024. the christian congregation of jehovah’s witnesses, which bought the former geico property in woodbury for $27 million in dec. 2022, plans to spend at least another $23 million to build an assembly hall and two support buildings on about half of the site.

I can see NO GOOD REASON for purchasing this property other than consolidating nursing facilities for retirees.
THAT WOULD BE A SHOCKER! WTS has always had the practice of sending retirees (or just those who are past their prime) "back to field" -- meaning "go get a job" or if it's older COs or DOs, they just send them to a Cong that has an apartment and enough affluent JWs to care for them.

FIFTY MILLION?
It does not appear like they are so hard up for money as their monthly videos have suggested.
The assembly hall, which will have about 2,100 auditorium seats and parking for about 700 vehicles, will be used almost exclusively on weekends for about 75 days a year, according to a Jehovah’s Witnesses website for the project.
There are more than 8,000 Jehovah’s Witnesses congregants in Nassau and Suffolk counties who meet at 21 Kingdom Halls throughout the Island8000 JWs in 21 Kingdom Halls -- That only accounts for about 10 days to be used for Cir Assm & Spec Assm days. Maybe another 10 weekends for Reg Convs.
Gosh! Wonder what the daily "contribution" per publisher will be to use the new Assm Hall?

New light on shunning?
by Mikejw inone theory why tony was booted out was because he was a stickler for not changing the shunning doctrine.
he actually said the words we will never ever change it.. they are slowly deleting all of tony’s videos and now losing court cases and losing government hand outs in places like norway.. it’s looking very likely they will release new light on shunning policy after losing this latest one in norway.. .
what are the odds they coincidentally get new light from jehovah and lighten up their shunning policy ?.

Wasn’t there a change in the past about 50 years ago or something like that where they relaxed the rules on shunning? ~ Tonus
In addition to what Tonus stated, back in the 1970's there was a period of time when the shunning was relaxed towards DF who were not continuing to practice sin and not opposers to the WT, such as someone attending with the intent to be reinstated.

During this time (8 years). I was a man without an identity, lost.... only a shadow of a person.
My heart goes out to each and every xjw because most go through something like this.SeaBreeze, when I read your post, I was overwhelmed with memories of that empty feeling. "Without an identity" defines it well. I had been a very respected, "prominent" elder (circuit & district parts, delegate and speaker at an international assembly). Then there was that moment I came to the realization that I was NOT in "The Truth". Everything I had believed came crashing down. I was able to see beyond the curtain. It was all A LIE!
