I used to be well prepared because I knew that most of the R&F had not even opened their WT or KM prior to the start of the meeting and I knew those conducting could hit a spot where they had no hands. But I somehow have the feeling that the study material used to have more content. Is that true? Or is it just my new jaded perspective? More recently it seems that you could take the entire Study WT and reduce it of all the fluff and give ample consideration to it in just one WT Study. [Yawn]

Most reading this in the pages of the WT will not even catch the obvious error because they are not reading with the critical eye. I wonder if someone still in were to mention this fact to anyone in high places, could it become known that the most likely source for them to discover this blatant error was from this website.
"Oh really, Bro Skeptic? And just who or what brought this error to your attention? We know you don't read the WT from the fact that it is never highlighted during the WT study. So how is it that you discovered this anomoly?"

Not really new here. Just been a lurker for some time. Now, 100 posts later, new doesn't seem accurate. Still reeling over the overlapping generation and the attack on education, and other things not so important. But still Desirous Of Change.
NUGGET: Hi recently I was Df'd for stating that the governing body was not Gods sole channel of communication.
[Mental Note to be more tactful, or at least more cautious about to whom I say such things.]

Revelation Prophecy Fulfillments According to WTS.......How Long Has it Been?
by drewcoul ini recently listened to an old fred franz talk that i found online that i remember attending when i was 11 in 1983 in indianapolis.
since i remembered that i didn't follow what he was saying back then, i wanted to listen to it and see if i could understand it now.
(the only difference is he still doesn't make much sense, but now i know it wasn't just because i was too young to understand at the time.).

New Beginnings!!!!
by JWFreak inwell things have changed big time for me.
on the 3rd of dec. finally, i have left my work at bethel and moved almost 500 kilometres away to a new life.. some of you were aware of my work in a european branch, and have kept my confidence.
for this i am eternally grateful...you know who you are.. the huge weight that has been taken off my shoulders is both a comfort and a relief.. when i settle into my new home properly, i intend to write some memoirs of life at the branch, hoping that others will find it of interest.. for now my future is for the first time uncertain and that makes it very very exciting, but i am no longer under the control of others yay!!.

WTBTS Elder & Ministerial Servant Problems
by JW GoneBad ini attended a recent ministerial servant k m school on the east coast and the main school instructor mentioned among other things (part entitled: 'objective of the km school course') that the total number of ministerial servants is seriously less than it should be.
in times past the ratio of m ss to elders was much more than it is today.. in the u.s. apparently the total number of elders is 88,500+ as opposed to m ss 65,000. the numbers show & numbers don't lie: the society is running out of spiritual men.
the instructor stated that this is a new downward trend that has (in so many words) the society worried.. the next speaker (part entitled: 'why we must be spiritual men') added that in his years as a traveling servant the pool of m ss has always been much, much larger than it is today.

Question for elders and ex elders and anyone else who might know
by ldrnomo inan older man on the elder body i was on, once said at an elders meeting, just prior to a co visit:.
"brothers we want to be careful not to bring up any dirty laundry with bro...co when he comes to visit" i didn't say anything at the time because i was duly doing my duty as a non thinking jw or at least non speaking and i also knew i was outnumbered.. even though i put this in quotes, i really don't remember exactly what he said but the general idea is there.. so the question is, has anyone else had a similar experience?.
perhaps some may have some thoughts on the many shows that go on in a kingdom hall..

"brothers we want to be careful not to bring up any dirty laundry with bro...CO when he comes to visit"
In recent years, seems to me that the COs would rather not be drawn into a problem. Much easier if everyone smiles big and says "everything is GREAT" and even if something is brought to their attention, they would rather ignore it, let the local yokels try to handle it and hope it will go away before their 6 month return. But I think that is because there are LOTS of problems to be resolved in any circuit. Plus, they sure do not want to stir the s&%t with any of the good ole boys in the circuit that control handling their accommodations, personal expenses or those with the generous green handshakes. Not many willing to take a stand on anything for principle anymore where it might rock their Gravy Train. Most are middle aged and what other skills do they possess?

Fading vs. D'F'd
by Band on the Run ini don't know the details.
is it true that if you slowly withdraw, you are free to go but if you are active and do an offense, you are shunned.
is their principle whether you are appropriating and blemishing the name vs. severity of the actual offense.

The biggest difference for someone to consider if they are torn between DA/DF or just FADING is that when DA or DF, then (to play by the rules) R&F MUST SHUN or they risk being DF themselves (exceptions allowed to family memebers). However, if you FADE and stay under their radar, it is a matter of individual (conscientious) choice of each R&F member as to how much they choose to associate with a fader.
