June Service Meeting part: Marriage, separation and divorce

i'm curious as to why this is a national topic for a service meeting part?

The putting away of the old wife, getting DFd or DA to marry the new one, come back all repentant and humble, work like a fireball, reach out and get appointed as MS, then elder.

Several 2nd time elders serving in this area, with new wife at their side.

ive never seen anyone step down when i went to the hall.

im wondering if they announced when i left..

They announced "Brother OTWO is no longer serving as an elder in the Buttpuppet Congregation" I was there.I made sure I commented in the "service meeting."

I made sure that I commented too. Didn't want rumors spreading. (Not that there is ever gossip at the KH.)

i had a friend in the borg that i love and miss (the only one i miss for real) she got married and because she begged me to atttend her wedding i showed up after a loooong time at the kh (that was october 2010, never went back!

just for her i went that one time!

well, even though i faded and have almost zero communication w the jws every once in a while we exchage emails, typicall "i miss you" "take care" and "how's your life" kind of stuff.. she is respectful of my decision and never asks to many questions, but i make sure i always let her know i am ok and happy... so, this past weekend i emailed her just to say hello, i check my email today and have this..... "i think about you all the time too free!!.

I'd would answer and thank her for her unconditional love and concern, and assure her that there is nothing to worry about -- everything is going well and share some recent highlights of your life. New job. Raise. Travel experience. Whatever is that has been good in your life recently. DO NOT be negative. DO NOT bring up the religion issue. JMHO.

An unfair test...

according to the holy wt, satan and his demons influence humans to do bad things.

as a result of the bad things that satan makes us do, we are going to be judged.

is that really fair?

Also,..................how can it be claimed that human rulership has failed, when it has always been subjected to demonic influence, especially after 1914 when Satan and his demons were cast down to the vicinity of the earth. WHY HERE? Didn't that just lower the odds of mankind having any success at all? Was mankind destined to fail from the very get-go?

magazine supply reduction

at the meeting tonight was read a letter to all congregations in canada.

it explained that since most publishers end up with left-over public edition magazines that didn't get placed at the end of each month, they will now no longer continue to have an individual magazine order per publisher.

instead, the entire congregation's supply of service edition magazines will be in a stack at the back of the kh, and they are to be taken according to need, with whatever is left over after service to be put back in the stack.

Next step will be for the public editions to be printed with no year printed after the month.

my friend called round before and has just left.

he told me that he was worried about me and that he wanted to speak to me as to why i havnt been going to the meetings or on the field service.

i told him that im just not discussing the reasons at all.

Just in case you are unaware of it, you should know that if you spend the night with a person who is known to be a homosexual, you can be disfellowshipped, just as can a person who spends the night with someone of the opposite sex. So, if you want to do a fade..............don't spend the night with your BF.

i was reading a thread on here that got me thinking.. what is the purpose of confession if not another method of mind control?

back in ancient israel, confession was just this thing you did if you were a good jew.

just like observing sabbath, fasting.. you get the point.

Me personally, I never once felt guilty about "fooling around" with my JW soon-to-be wife.

Anyways, before I start going off on a tangeant, let me say that my wife and I couldn't be happier together and we do not regret ANY of the stuff we did. Its been a year now, and NOBODY has found out at all.

Unlike you, I felt guilty as hell! Approached an elder in my congo who basically didn't want to hear it or deal with it and kinda just sent me on my way....

Wife & I today? Happy together and it's been over a year now too, just like you, well actually........... something like 25 years over a year.

I remember an illustration "something" like this in a talk one time LOL

my wife stood before me with some items in front of her.

without a word, she emptied a large jar of mayonnaise and proceeded to fill the empty jar with rocks right to the top, rocks about 2" diameter, then asked me if the jar was full.

i agreed that it was.. she then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them in to the jar.

When I heard the illustration, the final entry into the mayonaise jar was two beers.

Same story, put the important (big) things in first and the little ones will fit too.

The beer: A couples beer is good for the soul and any ole reason no matter what you're doing with the other things in life.
