  hi everyone, hope all are well :).

  just wondering, with all these zoom meetings and cancelled assemblies, just how the financial contribution system works in 2020?.

  i obviously am wondering if it will have a huge impact on the wt org.. can someone kindly summarise how contributions are managed nowadays, both officially and anecdotally in kh's.. i was last attending around 2004, where there were x2 contribution boxes, the world wide work and kh fund.

  what`s wrong with american politics ?.

  96% of american people who got off there arse to vote, chose hillary clinton to be president of the united states of america over donald trump.. and the electoral college overode the will of the majority of the people who bothered to vote , and gave the office of president to donald trump who was the 2nd choice, an also ran , of the will of the people.. it`s a furphy to say that some larger blue/red states can dictate to smaller red/blue states or vice versa to rig the elections ,simply because people can, and do change there preferences in any one state whether it be traditionally red or blue.. both democrats and republicans are both guilty and responsible for the gerrymander that is the electoral college.. there i`ve said it ,.

  nobody else seems to be able to say it how it is ,.

  Is it because of Pride or Loyalty?

  in a recent effort to entice me back to meetings, an elder friend gave me the example of his dad.. he said that his pioneer/elder/ex-missionary dad went through the anticipation and disappointment of 1975 and yet, he kept going faithfully for decades afterwards.

  the obvious point was that, if his dad can deal with disappointment, then, surely a nobody like me could do the same in regards to the scrapping of the 1914 generation doctrine, and all the other changes.

  his 'encouragement' was to tell me that it was only me that felt like this, everyone else is fine and have no problems with the changes.

  There was a short period of time when I was fully awakened but my wife was still "in". She went with the kids to meetings without me and "guilted" me about it all. But I approached her with "sincere questions" about the issues I was dealing with asking her "help in explaining it". As we all know here, there are NO ANSWERS. In fact, you can't even ask the questions without being seen as a potential apostate.

  Her eyes are fully open now. It just takes one thing to start the process.

  Is the WT changing the 1914 teaching now?

  i've been absent from the forum for about 10 months while deep into a divorce and working long hours.i heard mention in another thread about a change in 1914. is this actually being taught?

  i'm very curious.

  a extended non jw family member of my soon to be ex spouse finally decided to really do the deep investigation on the jw, and is in the phase of wanting to "ask the direct questions" and inform them of the facts of the jws.

  I know of no "official" change, however the date does not seem to be mentioned as frequently. Any recent mention of 1914 seems to be a "matter of fact" statement that it marked the beginning of the Last Days.

  Do you know why they call them the Last Days(™)? Because they last and they last and they last and........

  Polls Vs. Crowds

  when i see polls suggesting trump has a 95% chance to lose the presidency, according to drudge report, which is now totally liberal, and i see the huge crowds of trump supporters as opposed to the 20 people showing up for biden rallies, i have to wonder what i should believe.

  do i believe my lying eyes or am i totally messed up?.

  I have to wonder if it's all a scam on the American citizens? Do we really have any control over it? Or are the puppeteers pulling all the strings and all this is just a "show" to make us feel like we have some control?

  Remember the Gore v Bush election? Bush declared the winner THREE WEEKS after the election with the SCOTUS making the decision (7-2, so at least it was not a 5-4 decision) that resulted in Florida going in the Bush win column and Bush garners 271 electoral votes. (ONE over the 270 needed to win.)

  I would not be surprised if election results are just as crazy this time.

  Get the beer and popcorn and watch the theatrics!

  I think there is also that "ONE FOOT IN THE DOOR" crowd of JW's. They have huge doubts and no longer really believe that The End(™) is imminent. BUT, WHAT IF WT IS RIGHT? They cannot get it completely out of their head, so they "keep one foot in the door" -- just in case. These are the people that "jump back in with both feet" when there is a "9/11" event or pandemic.

  Then, there is the "BEST WAY OF LIFE" crowd. They have really given up any hope of walking right into Panda Paradise. They've lived through numerous WT False Prophecies. But they think "Where shall we go, Lord?" Not from a religious or salvation point of view. Rather, where else would they go to replace all their "friends" and social network? As long as you don't want to live immorally; as long as you don't need a transfusion; as long as you don't have a member abusing your child or grandchild; then it's not a bad lifestyle as long as you find your clique. After all, "where else shall you go" for pizza and beer after the meeting?

  If you want to slow down your exit, remain with your mother, and not be DFd or ostracized, you will need to "make a plan".

  1) If your mother is going to report you to the elders, then you will likely have to meet with them or they will pursue you as an apostate if she tells them about you being on this (and other) websites. Does she know you are reading this online? You will be asked how you "learned" these things! REMEMBER, your mother thinks she is trying to SAVE YOUR LIFE! (Yes, she is being deceived just as we all were!)
  

  2) Don't throw your PIMO friend under the bus. Perhaps you could say that you got all this information from a workmate who is "anti-JW". At first they pretended to be "interested" in The Troof, but then started sharing this anti-JW information with you. The information they have been feeding you, has you "confused" and has "raised some doubts". Implore the Elders to help you and let them "set matters straight". It "seemed" to make senseat first, but you realize it must all be lies.

  If you feel guilty being deceptive, then simply remember that the Organization says you're telling a "lie" only if the person DESERVES to know the truth. These men DO NOT DESERVE ANYTHING FROM YOU.

  3) MOST IMPORTANT -- ERASE YOUR INTERNET HISTORY!!!! (Just re-read some of your posts and saw you are spending a lot of time on line at jwfacts, etc.

  4) Start developing "worldly" friendships. People at work. Former classmates. Etc.
  

  5) SAVE MONEY!!

  6) Plan for a future on your own. At 20, I was out of the house and proud to be so even though I was still a "believing" JW (tho not living up to all the rules).

  7) REJOICE that you've learned TTATT at only 20 years of age. My wife and I were in our 50's. OUR LIVES were mostly wasted on this Cult. YOUR life has just begun!
