Excellent post - Of course the Dubs would say this is just bible prophecy - time of the end type of stuff. But yes, I noticed many new posters in this 'time of the end'.
People are more enlighten as time goes on - I think soon the BORG will mostly (if not already) be made up of older folks, who have no where else to go. Younger folks just ain't buying the BORG's stuff. Hell, the BORG doesn't even try thier best to retain the younger talent and prospects. However, the BORG does serve a purpose, many folks would be lost w/o them (what else is new).
Yes, times are changing, but not only for the BORG - for religion as a whole.

True love is like playdough.......
by MicStroz ini believe that true love is like playdough......... you can stretch it, pull it, pound it flat, wrap it around things.. it's never to short and never too long.
hell you can bounce it off .
the walls.

Great post Mic. Reminds me of an e-mail I got the other day:
F.A.M.I.L.Y. = Father And Mother I Love You.
Unfortunately the BORG doesn't know about that definition of love. I'm going to have to call the BORG "Brick City."

Gumby - No need to nick-pick or speak in behalf of someone else.
Like I said, opinions don?t amount to a hill of beans - b/c of this quote
"Epistemology--We "know what we think we know."
da Vinci - "The greatest deception men suffer is from their own opinions."
I?m not talking about the people who have power to enforce their opinion on others, or people who follow other peoples opinions, I?m talking about opinion as they stand on their own. Opinions are not absolute, we think they are but they really aren?t.
Plato - "True opinions are a fine thing and do all sorts of good so long as they stay in their place; but they will not stay long. They run away from a man's mind, so they are not worth much until you tether them by working out the reason. Once they are tied down, they become knowledge, and are stable."
It?s only an opinion, relax.

I agree totally. That's why our opinions don't amount to a 'hill of beans'. Our thoughts and beliefs are based on our environment and circumstances - they are not universally applied. It's usually based on someone elses narrow view of things.
In another vein - we are products of our geographic environment. That accounts for our physical features - environment plays a major role.

The Watchtower - A Waste of Paper and Time? ( May 1, 2004)
by metatron inoften, when you pick up a copy of the watchtower, you'll notice some articles that.
give good counsel.
they may advise elders to lovingly care for the flock, teenagers to.

Great post, lots of weight - It went beyond the theme b/c it applys to all of the BORGs publications and you touched on the heart of the matter regarding the true intent of the BORG.
I was thinking - If the BORG is really interested in reaching folks why don't they put their publications on the internet for a donation arrangement?

YES, I'M A BAD AMERICAN by George Carlin I believe the money I make belongs to me and my family, not some mid level governmental functionary be it Democratic or Republican! I'm in touch with my feelings and I like it that way, damn it! I think being a minority does not make you noble or victimized, and does not entitle you to anything. I believe that if you are selling me a Big Mac, try to do it in English. I think fireworks should be legal on the 4th of July. I think that being a student doesn't give you any more enlightenment than working at Blockbuster. In fact, if your parents are footing the bill to put your pansy ass through 4 years plus of college, you haven't begun to be enlightened. I believe everyone has a right to pray to his or her God when and where they want to. My heroes are John Wayne, Babe Ruth, Roy Rogers, and whomever canceled Jerry Springer. I don't hate the rich and I don't pity the poor. I know wrestling is fake and I don't waste my time arguing about it. I think global warming is a big lie. Where are all those experts now, when I'm freezing my ass off during these long winters and paying, paying, paying? I've never owned a slave, or was a slave, I didn't wander forty years In the desert after getting chased out of Egypt. I haven't burned any witches or been persecuted by the Turks and neither have you! So, Shut-The-Hell-Up already. I want to know which church is it exactly where the Reverend Al Sharpton practices, where he gets his money, and why he is always part of the problem and not the solution. Can I get an AMEN on that one? I think the cops have every right to shoot your sorry ass if you're running from them. I also think they have the right to pull your ass over if you're breaking the law, regardless of what color you are. I think if you are too stupid to know how a ballot works, I don't want you deciding who should be running the most powerful nation in the world for the next four years. I dislike those people standing in the intersections trying to sell me crap or trying to guilt me into making "donations" to their cause. These people should be targets. I believe that it doesn't take a village to raise a child, it takes two parents. And what the hell is going on with gas prices... again? If this makes me a BAD American, then yes, I'm a BAD American. If you are a BAD American too, please forward this to everyone you know. We need our country back!

DO YOU BELIEVE ARMAGEDDON WILL EVER COME?
by Mary insometimes i look at the world and i think "man, how much longer can it go on?
" sometimes i think perhaps armageddon will come in my life-time.
the one scripture i always think of is the one in revelation where it says that jehovah "will bring to ruin, those ruining the earth.

Larry
I think 'Armegeddon' has came and went for different people at different times in history. If you were a Vietnam citizen during the Viet. war that was 'Armegeddon' for you. If you were a Japanese during the time the A-bomb dropped that was 'Armegeddon' for you. If you were one of the 30,000 children that die every day due to starvation that was 'Armegeddon' for you. If you were a victim during the Rwanda genocide that was 'Armegeddon' for you. etc., etc., etc.
I think it all depends on a persons perspective. 'Armegeddon' is a state of mind - With many more 'Armegeddon's' on the horizon.

Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend.....Common Sense
by Larry intoday we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend by the name of common sense who has been with us for many years.
no one knows for sure how old he was, since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape.. he will be remembered as having cultivated such valued lessons as knowing when to come in out of the rain, why the early bird gets the worm and that life isn't always fair.. common sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (don't spend more than you earn) and reliable parenting strategies (adults, not kids, are in charge).. his health began to rapidly deteriorate when well intentioned, but overbearing regulations were set in place.
reports of a six-year-old boy charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate, teens suspended from school for using mouthwash after lunch, and a teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly student only worsened his condition!.

Farkel - Not interesting in the least bit - just passing it along.
It's not that serious.
Peace - LL
PS - Common sense isn't a common occurance.
