Yet if a pioneer claims somebody dropped off a bag of groceries on their porch, "Hallelujah! Jah sure does care for his full-timers!" The rest aren't worthy.
I always find that hilarious. Yesterday at the assembly, one of these very experiences was given. The elderly sister was ecstatic because after she lost her job and health, she says she ALWAYS had what she needed. And of course, anyone else that this happens to...its sheer coincidence and their just fortunate.

I was thinking about this while staring blankly at the assembly speaker today. A prestigious member of the GB. O joy. Anyway, a while ago, a similar question was asked via Yahoo answers. And one answer staed that that would NOT be the case. That God must help everyone, otherwise JW's would be serving Jehovah for the wrong reasons. Which truly does make sense. However, when listening to the GB speaker today, he droned on and on about making Jehovah your refuge. And how if you put God "first", he will bless those efforts yada yada. But JW's are not the only ones who feel God acting in their lives. (I Don't). Many "worldy" individuals say how they feel God's hand in their lives. It seems a little counter-productive or pointless or....something. Why would God even bother helping "worldy" people if he plans on killing them all anyway? Or is it that JW's have the ability to interpret when God is acting on them, and "worldy" people are just speaking nonsense when they feel that way? Has a JW ever wondered about this? Does this make any sense? The reason I'm asking is because I'm still stuck in and this is another point I wish to mention. But I just want to know if this makes any sense...

but their statistics on matter aren't very up-to-date i imagine.. example: i remember the talk about parents or young people or something.

Most of the interviews are with people right at Bethel, who are nearly all hard-line cult nutters or they wouldn't be there in the first place.
^I agree with this. I'm sure tha even if a story was similar to the way it actually happened, I'm sure they are so twisted and no where near the interviewees actual words.
in my attempt to seperate myself from the jw's completely, i am finding all kind of awesome people.
of course, if we are talking by jw's standards these people are "awful".
anywho, there are a couple of them who are absolutely fascinated with the fact that i used to be a jw.. the reason they are fascinated is because they are aware of cultish mind-control and understand just how difficult it is to walk away from it all.
Not really. Well as my name suggests, I'm still stuck in. But my non-JW friends that I still associate with that I knew from when I was in school, are amazed by the fact that I'm a witness, and always ask questions. But they don't understand the stuggles I go though day in and day out. And they never will. If I just up and left, they might say "AT LAST!" Then it would never come up again. Thats because from the outside looking in, it should be like quitting a job while you still have another. Just walk away and pick up where you left off. If only it were that simple...

it seems to me that all the praying in the world does not make any difference, people die god's not concerned nor is the gb, and i think that all praying is highly concentrated wishing!!.

I believe that to a be the case. Great choice of wording btw. I havent prayed to God since I was baptizes over four years ago but I still have a ton of responsibilities in the congregation. How does that work? Many JW's say how God will not take away our problems but will help us to endure as if we are totally and completelly helpless little nobody's without some divine intervention in every situation.
I remember a lot of experiences where a sister/brother prayed for help, and a few months later their answer was in a WT or other publication/talk/ comment etc. Yea right! There are so many articles in the WT and new publications, at SOME point, your "situation"(or something close to it) would be disussed in it. *sigh* /end rant.

True True DanaBug. They read off the paper while adding their own little subthoughts. Are they even allowed to use Google or another site to find experiences and statistics? Or only those provided through their publications? I never bothered to look at my dad's outlines.

EXAMPLE: I remember the talk about parents or young people or something. Many of you may remember the statistic it provides. The one that says that parents fathers spend an average of like 8 minutes a day or less with their children and some other number I can't recall. But then check this out...an article entitled "Parents have tripled quality time spent with kids".
Where do they get their statistics from and do they ever update their talk outlines?
P.S. My father gives this particular talk seemingly every month. And I know I've heard those numbers about a million times for years.
