Ahhh, hating field service. I sure did. Once I got a talking too for singing a Janis Joplin song while out in a car group. The one where she is asking God to buy her stuff. That was pretty evil of me.

Before you found here .... The Isolation Feeling?
by Celtic inbefore you found others over the net, how long did you spend after getting expelled in isolation, dealing by yourselves with all the overlapping issues?
in that isolation, how did you feel?.
in africa, individuals are disfellowshipped too, what must it be like there, trying to come to terms with all and sundry that we have singularly and collectively been through?

Ummm, the only one that will be in BIG trouble is you Freepeace, if you tangle with that monster. I'd teach him a lesson if I were you, sign him up for a bible study, I hear Klingons are very teachable.

we are accused of being "postdates"
by Mulan inthis was so funny!!!
a friend of mine is involved in a bitter divorce, custody, visitation situation, for a close relative of hers.
she got a copy of the long, involved court report, and in that report, we are mentioned as being "postdates" of jw's, which means "that they talk bad about other witnesses, sort of like being the control of satan.

Hmmm, I've always been a little concerned about the old prostate, never been called one though. Now my sweet little pioneer daughter in law did manage to get the pronunciation correcet a couple of nights ago and called me an apostate. I told her as soon as she and my son pull their heads out of the sand, they can be one too!! *S*

I've left a couple of years ago now, but I'm new here and not all that certain how long I'll be around. Sometimes I think it's better to just shove all these angry feelings aside and move on. I've met a lot of people in my community that I would have never associated with a couple of years ago and that's helpful. At times they ask me about my JW past. So I guess that has given me an outlet for venting.
But I still do get angry at times.

Just when I thought I was almost over being angry my "brothers" got my blood going again. My wife and I were polite, saying at first it was good to see them after so long and the first thing the elder in the group said was..."well you know where to find us, at the kingdom hall." Well normally I'm fairly mild mannered, but, that just got under my skin. So I told him "really? I usually see your car outside the bar in town". Got the forced laugh of course.
What really got me was one of the newly interested ones in the car. Seems this "brother to be" is out in service these days. His ex-wife is a dear friend of ours and was DFed after leaving him and getting a boyfriend. they were married for more than 20 years. He abused her, treated her like garbage and made her feel worthless. So now all her old friends shun her (for her own good) and this piece of human trash is their friend. Oh that gives me the warm fuzzies.
*deep breath here*
Anyway I no longer wanted to spend time with them so without saying a word I walked past them and went to the barn. My poor wife was left behind to make good-byes.

I've only recently joined here, but I used to visit H20 when I was an active witness. I had a very difficult time arguing with all YOU apostates. Just think, 3 years ago I couldn't spell apostate, now I R one.

Disassociated
by LB ini'm new here and i'm certain this topic has been discussed in the past so please forgive me for bringing it up.
i've been inactive for about 3 years now and at this time would like to disassociate myself as i do plan to celebrate holidays and such.
so i think it is to my advantage to da myself before i get dfed.

Well you've all given me a lot of food for thought. To be honest all our old friends are long gone. The family we took to Maui hasn't returned our phone calls for a long time now. We have "drifted" a longs way away and I'm very tempted to continue to do just that. The ONLY reason I would DA myself is because I thought it might be easier to get re-instated if I need to be. BUT if it isn't any easier, then why bother. And again the only reason to get re-instated would be in order to make things easier for my kids. I have ZERO faith in this organization.
Sounds like many of you have gone through what we are going through now. I think I am inclined to just continue to drift, no use in calling an elder. By the way, after 3 years my old best friend actually stopped by last weekend with a watchtower and awake. I actually forced myself to read some of it. He will call back he tells me and at that time most likely I'll tell him I just found it a difficult read and uninteresting.
Thanks so much for your help.

I'm new here and I'm certain this topic has been discussed in the past so please forgive me for bringing it up. I've been inactive for about 3 years now and at this time would like to disassociate myself as I do plan to celebrate holidays and such. So I think it is to my advantage to DA myself before I get DFed. I'm just sick and tired of having to follow rules of an organization I no longer belong to.
Only problem I have is my adult kids are active witnesses. They will continue to assoicate with me regardless of what happens.
My thoughts are this, if I DA myself, and say I wanted to "re-instate" myself would I be able to do that down the road by simply sending a letter to my old congregation? I will NOT want to, but just in case I move away, where I'm not under watchful eyes, would this strategy work? I mean if I were DFed then I'd have to play the silly game and attend meetings and pretend I've seen the error of my ways and all that. Can I do such a thing? Would this work? I really don't want to ask an elder as that would probably set in motion the judicial committe.
Again I'm sorry for dragging up what I am sure is a very old subject.
