it's good to be back after a cancer scare i recently had.
i found a fast growing tumor on my back.
Welcome back Bonezz. I had such a scare myself some time back. That C word is nasty.
Oh and I think You Know has finally followed theocratic direction and is now avoiding apostate sites and spending his days working in the ministry.

would anyone like to share, if they feel like it, their memory of the last door they ever knocked on?
i was with about 3 or 4 other people, all sisters.
My last door is clear in my mind. It didn't change things as I was already on the way out but I do remember the conversation.
The householder (hate that term) was big into guns and self protection. He asked us if we would be willing to take a life to save one. The MS I was with said no, I said yes, to save someone I love I would take a life. So the HH asks the MS if he'd shoot someone that was about to rape and then murder his lovely wife. Again he says no he wouldn't, I say yes I'd protect his wife too.
Sadly a year later the MS's wife dies of cancer before her 30th birthday. I was at the hospital the day before she passed away. The only treatment left was blood and it was refused. She saw me and tried to wave but had to settle for a smile. It was enough, I knew she was going fast.
It took the MS (now elder) a couple of years to get the replacement wife.

ok...so the other day my husband(he is still an active witness) starts questioning me about why i come to x-jw sites.. he said the reason people come to these types of sites,is to convince themselves that they made the right decision to leave the"truth".i told him i come here to get support from others who feel they were tricked into believing something that wasn't true.he knows i feel my life has been taken away from me because i wasted so many years following their doctrines.i told him it helps me to know i am not alone in my feelings.he is still convinced that people are afraid they are wrong,and just come here to keep finding reasons to stay away from the "truth".he doesn't understand that we know what the real truth is.. i was just curious what everyone else thought about this.do you feel we are "convincing" ourselves that we made the right decision to leave?
I'm sure some people may need convincing. I was convinced long before I found this site. I think most of us consider ourselves survivors. The people here have a common bond because of that and no one else knows what we have been through.
Then after awhile you begin to become friends with some. Many of us now know each other in real life. Much to my surprise I recently discovered a sister from my old hall on this site and she's active with posting. Isn't that fun!
i was reading something bout bashing the org unfairly...i disagree with doing it to a degree but did you get an unfair bashing by jws after you left?
i was accused of marrying a sister (who i helped to leave at the same time as me), she was twice my senoir and had sons the same age as me...pure lies and gossip.
and i was accused of smoking some drug, and thats why i disassed.
Well some were spreading lies when I attended. So of course they did.
One of the lies was told to my son when he attended assembly a couple of months after I caused a stir and left. He was told by the wife of a MS "I hear your parents took their entire watchtower library and put it on the door step of his old Kingdom Hall". My son told her "Then you were listening to a liar".
Silly people, I burned the library and shot up the CD's.

i watched the news on tv, and i saw reports of thousands of people all around the world asking for peace instead of war.
do you think that these peace rallies will really make a difference?.
do you think that these peace rallies will influence the president of the united states?
Here in the Rogue Valley with a population of about 177,000 people the protestors claimed they had 500 show up for their ralley and peace walk. But the news coverage and photos in the paper showed about 100 at the most. It started in a college town where you are most likely to get the most support on this issue.
When I was in college I would attend almost every protest as hot babes showed up for that stuff. It was a great way to connect.
I doubt it has much of an effect on anything. We all know what's going down very soon. We get to elect our leaders in our nation but you'll never elect anyone that runs on a peace program. With a very unpopular war going on in Nam the peace candidates still got their asses kicked in the elections. And even had they been elected I doubt much could have been done differently. Policitians seem to have little control over the direction of things. Makes you wonder who's running the show doesn't it?

just watched the interview with the 70 year old mr crow who is paralysed from the neck down and will soon loose his voice.
today he is flying from england to switzerland to die....very moving.
Tough call on this issue. If that is what Mr Crow wanted then I'm glad he succeeded. Pretty easy to see some possible abuse that could occurr here isn't it?
Almost 18 months ago my best friend shot himself to death. His doctor told him that his cancerous tumors would paralize him at any time. He promptly went home and ended it. We were to meet for lunch that day but when I showed up they were taking him away. I don't blame him, possibly I would do the same thing in his shoes.
Anyway this issue brings back old thoughts I have about our loving God. Even the JW's weren't able to explain all this crap to my satisfaction.
