well, my 17 year old has left home in a horribly negative way.
she has had many problems for many years.
she ran away a year ago, we dragged her home, took her to the hospital for bulimia and suicidal tendencies.
I am so sorry that you and your daughter have experienced this. I wish I had a magic wand to make it better for the both of you.
Can you speak with the Mental Health facility about care for your daughter? Since she is still a minor, I do not believe they can withhold information from you until she turns 18. Mental illness is a difficult chronic illness, but with meds and counseling it is perfectly controllable.
Many of her symptons are also symptons of drug abuse. Time will tell what is really happening with her. Many times teens with mental health issues self-medicate with drugs. It controls the fear. We are here for you.

not a question that affects me personally - i am dutifully bound to a single woman now for 33 years [omg that is 1/3 of a century already].. but do you believe that it is possible or profitalble to fall in love with more than one person at the same time?
in western culture it is normally considered 'betrayal' to do such a thing - but thoughout history and in cultures outside of the west today - it is considered acceptable, even normal.. typically it is the man who has more love interests than just one - not the woman - but some cultures have supported multiple partners for women also.
this is not a thread about judging others - just an inquiry about opinion.
I have to agree with Richard...many times it happens to us with work relationships.
I think not only is it possible to love more then one person, I think it happens all the time. The real question is what do you do with it. Most of us have choosen not to act upon those feelings, since the consequenses far outweigh what we would get out of having muliple relationships. JMO

I would also add control to the mix. Having control of millions of people is a Power trip. You begin to think of yourself in a God mentality. They even believe their own BS. They are the mouthpiece of God etc. It is more then sickening...it is criminal.

this year, my hubby's b.a.s.s club has been invited to be in the parade out by the harbor and going all through the town of oswego, (proudly known as the port city and the gateway to the st lawrence seaway) since i cannot climb up onto the decorated boats that will be displayed....they have invited me (little old me) to ride in one of the trucks that will be towing the boat that hubby will be in.. i know this isn't the most exciting event that most of you will be doing this weekend....but for an old lady that hasn't been allowed to see a july 4th parade for 30 years...it is a bit out of the "ordinary" in my list of things to do, lol!
i am looking forward to just "doing stuff" that ordinary people do in the community.
small as it may seem, it is a huge thing to have the freedom to do so!.
Wow that is really cool....have fun you deserve it. Aren't you glad you left so that you have the ability to experience life before we are not able to. Sounds simply wonderful.

i've apparently grown half an inch in my 20's.
i think this is bizarre.
anyone else heard of it for girls?
Me too....at 19 I was 5'4" and wore a size 7 shoe. I am now 5'6" and I wear size 9 shoes. My boobs are now much bigger also. I felt that I really did not stop growing until my middle 20's.

just heard about the death of joel siegel, the entertainment critic for abc, and found myself, surprisingly, in tears.
maybe it was because he had such a young son and made plans to let him know how much he was loved, long before he died.
maybe because i have watched him for so many years.
Princess Di, Dana Reeve, Johnny Cash, Johnny Carson, John Candy, John Belushi...I guess anyone with the first name John, and of course John Lennon.

i need some answers or advice from the experienced brothers/sisters regarding my stand.
i am too shy to go to the elders.
shall i continue and pursue my life and hopefully be part of the organization once again ??
First welcome and we are very glad that you are with us.
If you have not had somekind of help in dealing with living with an abusive partner, then it is very easy to find another one. Please no matter what this person is saying, learn to take care of yourself. There is a big difference in needing a man, and wanting a man. If you are looking to anyone to "take care of you" you are putting yourself in a position to be abused again. That is what the JW religion does, it controls you no difference then the abusive mate you left. Good luck

egypt has somewhat joined civilization.
with all the misogynistic practises in the middle east already, taking away a woman's right to actually enjoy sexual relations, is barbaric and pitiful.
their 'lot' in life in one (1) more country just got a little better.
I have to agree that banning something does not change the cultural idea, and certainly there will be those that will continue this absurd practice, but it is a beginning. Hopefully as girls are born and this practice is no longer the norm, it will change the culture.
