  i have been dating a very committed jw - he spent some time out of the organisation after a divorce and about a year ago has been granted a fellowship again.

  i absolutely adore him - and what is there not to love!

  he is the most kind, sweet and lovable man i have ever met.

  I understand it is difficult to turn your feelings off, but thank your lucky stars you can hurt for alittle while then go on with your life, compared to a life of pain with a JW.

  you don't download music, you just listen to it.

  you can create as many "stations" as you want and you can even refine them.

  i am an inactive jw who has 3 sons left in the religon.

  my oldest son has been baptized for4 years and has recently married again.

  he gets his son every other weekend.

  Glad you are here with us. You have received great advice.

  If you ever see bruises makes on your grandchild take pictures yourself. On the picture, put the date, time you took it. your name as photographer, where the markes are located. All this is needed if used in court. Take the child to a police officer...period. It is a CRIME!!!!!!!! Let the police handle it....

  Also please tell the mom that she needs to do the same. In the state of NY this man would only have supervised visitation. She needs to do a modification of custody order. If she can not afford a lawyer many probation offices will help her fill out the paperwork. Also, have her call a domestic violence program, we do paperwork for custody when abuse is involved. Many Domestic Violence Programs in the US have lawyers that do pro bono work for abuse survivers. Keep coming back...we are here for you.

  need serious advice

  i don't know where to start.

  i'm on vacation, staying with my daughter for the next few days...and then we're going (my daughter & her 3 kids) to my son's wedding reception some distance from here.. she has been trying to finalize her divorce and custody of the kids for about 6 years now.

  they have been separated for that long.

  What state is she in????? She has all the documentation to use family court and not only recieve an exparte order of protection, but custody fo her kids. She needs to contact a domestic violence program NOW. Once she has gained custody then flee. If she does not have custody, he can file for custody and the state where she lives can bring her back.

  If I can be of any help to you please email me [email protected] I ran a domestic violence shelter for 10 years for The Salvation Army..I still work there, and will help in anyway that I can.

  Does anyone need any JW books, brochures, etc.?

  we have a bunch of books that are wasting a lot of valuable bookshelf space: songbooks (the gold ones), nwts, the jw history book, insight on the scriptures, and most of the little dumb books.

  we also have a few brochures, tracts, and some kingdom ministry brochures called "the new millennuim - what does the future hold".

  we have the entire bible on cassette tape, the wt library 2000 on cd, and lots of other stuff.. someone was asking on another thread about the old school brochure.

  i was first contacted by the jws in 1968 when i was pg w/our first son.

  i bought the little blue book "the truth that leads to everlasting life" for 25 cents.

  found it interesting, but put it away because i was busy after our son's birth and i didn't think my husband would want to get into religious material as we had left the methodist church because they were always crying for $.. jump ahead to 1970. husband was home which was unusual because he normally worked saturdays.

  The red flags began for me when in the 80's they changed course of Jesus as mediator of the annointed class only. WTF !!!

  As far as field service was concerned....I was happy to either be hot or cold in the car...since I pioneered for 10 years all I cared about was time. Pretty sick now, but true then.

  i take a chance and start my first thread :.

  as it has been posted quite a few times lately, there has been a noticeable increase in the posting population on this board (i've added my bit) in the latest few months.

  the consequence is that it takes an awfull time to read these posts -all the more so when one is a non native english writer- and one may feel that any posting we would like to do will be diluted in the whole lot, and/or come too late.

  I have to agree that it feels at times like you are in a race on this board. If you don't check it often you can't even find what you were reading a few hours before. I have learned to read what interests me, post when I can, and let the rest go. Glad you are with us.
