You're attempting you justify your thought process with logic. We all know that logic in the bOrg is as unwelcome as Satan himself. -

JWs and Education
by cognac inmy parents were always of the belief that, "the end is right around the corner".. i was a zealous kid, with a learning disorder, so my parents never gave me a hard time or pushed me in regards to my education.. this not only hurt me, but, pissed me off insanely.
fast forward to me having my own kid.
ava is not doing well in school.

Simple answer whcih I suspect you already know - ignore anyone giving you advice contrary to her education and what you know is best for her benefit. She is YOUR daughter and YOUR responsibility. When she is older she will hold you accountable in your failings while all those who had the "better" advice will sit back and judge you nonetheless, had you followed their advice. -

Does Anyone Still Believe in God?
by LaurenM indo any of you ex-jw's still believe in god?
even with the new rebranding/softening of this religion, i still don't see how people can believe in him.
the god of the old testimate is an angry murderer who approved rapes and slavery and killed thousands of men, women and children.

StuffwotIfink:
You make some good points and I and I don't disagree with a lot of it.
However my world does not revolve around belief or definitive conclusions, I feel for me personally that would be foolhardy to do so. Let's say my "jury" is always out studying the evidence - while never reaching a verdict, pertinent evidence and facts are being considered while everything proven to be factual is retained. The important part is the pertinent evidence, as there may be evidence that is yet to be proven but if that evidence doesn't have any baring or influence on my investigational processes, I have the sort of mind which immediately trash cans it because I don't see the point in cluttering my mind with irrelevant information.
If something can't be proven or disproven - like aliens and UFOs - since they don't affect the planet in any real way, I would rather not bother wasting my time contemplating the issue. If evidence is made available, obviously I'll adjust my thinking.
Just wanted to say thank you for the video you posted: Is Religion a mental illness? Ya gotta be cazy to think so. I enjoyed the reasoning very much and certainly helps me understand the mentality a lot better. -

What does that even mean? It's not meant to mean anything in the same way as the statement, "Thurdays are the square root of carrots".

Nicely done GodZoo.
I've only seen one trolley/stand so far and that was in Seattle while we were on vacation. I wanted to anti-witness but my wife held me back. Are there any at all in New York?

And doing God’s will.
by StephaneLaliberte inmy father is still in the truth but keeps in touch with me from time to time.
the other day, he sent me an email about how the generation could be a 120 years like it was for noah.
so, i responded saying that itd be a good thing if it turned out to be true; that he may believe it to be true, as long as he doesnt judge people who dont feel the same way.

I hate to say this to folks in a tight spot with their loved ones, but here goes ...
The bOrg commands that they put their loyalty to Jehovah before their loved ones. If they are "dedicated" JWs, why would you expect them to put you first? To the "zombies" the bOrg will ALWAYS be their first priority. Having to accept this sucks for sure, but it doesn't and won't change anything unless they decide the bOrg is full of shit themselves.
