Use stuff like this in college to memorize stuff for tests. It works.

JW's And Risque Mnemonics.
by Englishman indo folk in the united states use mnemonics as we do here in the uk?.
just in case youre wondering, a mnemonic is a method by which it becomes easy to remember something, especially if it involves a table or sequence.
most uk mnemonics have a vulgar or sexual connotation, so their use is somewhat frowned upon in jw circles.. when number 2 son was studying geology, it was essential that he remembered the hardness order of various minerals.

Does unkind talks make you a better person?
by beroea indoes unkind talks make you a better person?.
i notice a tendency to use very rough words describing each other and their posts.
some may think that if we can make other people thing unworthy we are the ones on the top.

Yeah...what Amazing said.
You get to know who's who after a while and how they "talk", who they are. Then you choose to talk to them or not. I try to take into consideration the full range of possibilities where someone might be coming from. We all loose it and make mistakes but most see that and will apologize.
Like amazing said, some ya just ignore.Lindy

Do you have a circle life after being a jw?
by beroea indo you have a circle life after being a jw?.
i been wondering about the fact so it seems - that so many after breaking and leaving - a sometime long relationship with the borg - seams to go back to old king of thinking.
sometimes just with others words.. as jw we look/looked at the world with eyes teach by the borg.

Yes, many leave, and because they are human and choose certain paths, certain things happen. Not all bad though. If you take your time when you leave and don't jump from the frying pain into the fire, life gets better. It just takes time to work through the grief and the anger, etc. But it can be done without making matters worse. But you do need to be patient and some haven't learned that quaulity yet. I din't have extreme emotions when I left. I did everything very slowly and let all the new things I learned sink in. Figured out what to discard and what to keep. I took my time and really searched for the answers and came to the conclusions that I did. We are each differnt and handle things differently.
I hate it when the Society suggests that we are all leaving and now into sex drugs and a bad and evil life style. Mine was very quiet and reserved. I didn't rebel and go off on a tangent. Most don't. But it looks good to JW's if someone does because it makes them feel better about staying. More righteous for their choses. They never want to know that you are happy and better adjusted outside of the Organization and that your life moves forward without fear, guilt and the like, that almost all JWs feel. That is a cognitive disonance that they have to deal with and they don't really know how to do that well.As Always,

What If ???
by Big Jim inwhat if the borg sent out a letter adressed to all congregations in the united states and it said this.. dear brothers:.
the faithfull and discreet slave in which you know is directed by jehovahs holy spirit has directed us to request that you immediatley begin to rid yourself of any and all unnecessary material items, and we are requesting that all moneys from the sell of these items be sent to the wbts as soon as possible.. after you rid yourself of these burdens it should be no problem for all of the brotherhood to begin the full time preaching work as regular pioneers.
you can rest assured that jehovah will provide for all of your needs since you are putting his kingdom first.. best wishes from your fellow slaves at the borg.. .

Amazing, I remember those days when the Society "suggested" that we down-size our lives and pioneer where the need was greater because the end was so very close. I am so glad that my first husband and I were struggling to make ends meet with a small child and no real belongings. We didn't have anything to give up. Being poor does have it's blessings! Many did give it all up including jobs and education and now have nothing and are struggling in their old age just to live from day to day. No retirement and savings. After all, we weren't supposed to need it!!

Totally off topic.....but funny as hell!!!
by closer2fine inlondon (reuters) - a british woman has published photographs of her boyfriend wearing skimpy panties and a bra on the internet to avenge his cheating ways.. the 22-year-old, who identified herself only as "the pimptress," said boyfriend "tom" had asked her never to show the snaps of him in various poses wearing her shiny red underwear.. "guess he shouldn't have cheated with my best m8," she wrote, using for the word "mate" the abbreviated text message language popular for communicating by mobile phone.. the picture gallery of 20 snaps includes shots of "tom" trying to squeeze on a pair of girl's cowboy boots and putting on makeup.. http://www.uboot.com/u/pimptress

If I remember right, there was a problem with people even bringing the WT to the Convention for the WT part, let alone having studied it that week. I think that they were just trying to keep the control up. I don't remember it being brought up after that though.

Ah, the sweet taste of freedom!
by Sunchild intoday, i did a couple of things that i never would've or could've done had i remained a jw.
first of all, i spent the first half of my day being a promotional model for snapple.
my job: smiling, looking cute, and handing out free snapple drinks.
-
Lindy
Congrats Sunchild,
All of that stuff is great! Hope you make it on the show. Then I can say that I know you. Hope the rest of your life is going great too. Freedom to be who you are in this life is wonderful. Glad you are happy.
I hate most of those new shows, but I have to say I don't mind the "Weakest Link", I will take it over "Millionaire" anytime.<<<<<hugs>>>>>

In the name of belated wisdom
by Kent inif we take a critical view on the last weeks events on this board, there is maybe a thing or two to consider.
the board has seen a kind of war, and sarcasms and caustic remarks have been more the rule than the exception in some threads.
usually these ends up adding something positive to the community or the forum where the war raged, and its much like a thunderstorm.

Sue,
You said:
"They are all individuals.
Their religion is not as strict as you imagine."Are you even a JW? Reason I asked was becaue you used the word they and their when most JWs use we and us. "We aer individuals," "Our religion." Seemed a bit wierd to me. Even I, being away for awhile still have the tendency to us the "we, "us" terminology time and again.
As far as how else would Prince do his ministry? Just like all JWs, why not, is he special and so above the rest of them? Not according to the Bible. If he calls on doors, he might be more effective than most at the door, don't ya think? I was told that at least half your ministry should be worked at the door. The rules are different for one who come in with "worldy fame"?
And if his fame is a problem in accomplishing Jesus'command, then he should give it up and do something else to make his money. Many have given up worldly careers and have given up college that was paid for to go into the full-time work. Prince to good for this to apply to him? He could live modestly, as the Society says you should, on his investments alone! The Society discourages it's own that have never been famous, not to draw attention to their selves, and they also discourage ones from even getting a further education that might lead them into rich heights and possible fame, even on a local level. So what makes Prince so special?
He is part of the whole now and he should start blending in. No one else gets special treatments of compensations, I don't know why he should.
But let me guess, Prince is still doing it because he is famous and the JW uppers don't want to make public waves. It would become negative publicity and I don't think the Society wants that. I think he probably gives quite a bit too, and I don't mean blood.
He also might think twice about being a JW if they got on him like they would on a young JW trying to form a band. Prince and his family are used to a high life style, and giving that up to preach door to door would be to much for him, right? Not everyone can follow Christ's and the disciples example, huh?. Isn't there an example about a rich man being asked to give up his life style and follow Jesus. Oh, I see, today is different, right? Hmmmmm
I ponder over the fact that you might be a troll, might not even be a JW and if you are, you are extremely naive, and immature and do not think critically.(Of course JW's are discouraged for critical and independent thinking so it wouldn't be all your fault if it was true.)
Lindy
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Why do you put ALL JW's into one box?
They are all individuals.
Their religion is not as strict as you imagine.
How else can he do his ministry?
Can't very well call on doors, can he?Many singers preach their way of life at concerts.
Why not Prince?
If he really believes, then he should do so.
That's my mind anyway.
