Have you investigated Gnostic Christianity?
by Gnostic Bishop inhave you investigated gnostic christianity?.
the gnostic wing of christianity, if it can even be called that today, has quite a few differences to christianity and catholicism.
if the old gnostic christians were here, they would hardly recognize what has happened to the original orthodox catholic church or its various offshoots in protestantism and islam.

Yes, Gnostism has provided me with many faith based answers that the evil sacrificial Abrahamic god worshipping cults cannot provide. I love Elaine Pagels work. The gnositc books are truly facinating.

Does The State Have The Right To Quarantine Someone Because They Might Have Ebola?

Back in the day I remember having the quarantine sign our our door when chicken pox and mumps and measles went around. This was common then. We just don't know enough about Ebola and the possibility it could mutate and become airborne. This women is in the medical field and is putting her rights before the health and safety of her neighbors. She's selfish, and is probably a political plant. I'm glad that some states are acting on their own to protect their community. The government has made a mess of it. President Ebola would rather listen to the CDC, but the States are taking their own precations.

I am confused on the JW's 1000 year reign doctrine. Please explain it to me.
by booker-t ini have always thanked randy/dogpatch for creating free-minds because i always felt i was the only one that felt that jw's were teaching some nonsense.
i admit i still think they got some of their teachings correct but one doctrine i think is full of bologne is the 1000 year reign doctrine.
if jesus came into power in 1914 and now it is 2014 does that mean jws believe it will only be a 900 year reign?

Here is an interesting article that is not about religion. It speaks about the idea of
Quantum physics proves that there IS an afterlife
There is a thing called consciousnessWe think life is just the activity of carbon and an admixture of molecules – we live a while and then rot into the ground,' as humans we believe in death because 'we've been taught we die', or more specifically, our consciousness associates life with bodies and we know that bodies die. Carbon and organic matter wear out and decay.
The theory of bio centrism teaches death as we know it is an illusion. He believes our consciousness creates the universe, and not the other way round, and once we accept that space and time are 'tools of our minds', death can't exist in 'any real sense' either.

The whole 'Heaven' myth is just made-up nonsense. Humans don't 'go anywhere' when they die.....they are just dead, forever. The belief in 'Heaven' is just another way to rationalize the fact that everyone and everything dies at some point. The best approach is to forget the fairy tales and live the one life you will ever have NOW, in the present. This is it, folks. Stop obsessing about an 'afterlife' and make the most of your current life.
NAVYTOWN, Um, so what makes you the authority on this? You speak as if you difinitely know what you say is based on proven fact? I respect the fact that you have an opinion, but that's all it is. Just an opinion. Other's do have an opinion on the "afterlife" that certainly differ with yours and just making the comment to everyone that "humans don't go anywhere when they die..... they are just dead forever" is a disproven belief that you have. You cannot prove or disrpove what you say, it's just an opinion.

An Evil Apocalyptic God
JEHOVAH, is a crazed ego maniac, who thinks he is God of the Universe,
Here are a few reasons I believe this:
1. He created man for his own gain (to do work for him in the Garden of Eden, like you may play with all these gadgets and levers but don’t touch the self destruct mechanism!)
2. He demands sacrifices, (because there is a strain in the DNA he doesnt like, which is why he demands sacrifices of all kinds, he needs death, so he has less to worry about the DNA strain that gets in his way of his own ego driven goals for Earth). You see of course it would please Jehovah, because Jehovah is trying to be “GOD” of the Earth by controlling it through the manipulation of languages and races for his own sick purposes, and yet Jehovah sounds to me like some dude who is manipulating the system! Jehovah is SATAN,
The Wrathful God
“Then the earth shook and trembled; the foundations also of the hills moved and were shaken, because he was wroth. There went up a smoke out of his nostrils and fire out of his mouth devoured: coals were kindled by it. He bowed the heavens also, and came down: and darkness was under his feet. And he rode upon a cherub, and did fly: yea, he did fly upon the wings of the wind. He made darkness his secret place; his pavilion round about him were dark waters and thick clouds of the skies.” (Psalms 18:7-11)
Consider that these verses describe an angry (wroth) being, spouting smoke and fire, whose secret place consisted of darkness. This devilish entity sounds like a description of Satan, but believe it or not, actually comes from the Bible as describing God.
God rejoices your death
“And it shall come to pass, that as the LORD rejoiced over you to do you good, and to multiply you; so the LORD will rejoice over you to destroy you, and to bring you to nought; and ye shall be plucked from off the land whither thou goest to possess it.” (Deuteronomy 28:63)

Don't be too happy about Holder's resignation. Word on the street up there, , is that Obomber has been in talks with Gingsburg to retire from the SCOTUS, and guess who he is going to nominate? Yep, Holder.

Where is the REAL proof that anyone has EVER experienced 'life' after death??
by NAVYTOWN inthere are countless religions, and have been since prehistoric times.
most of these religions have included a version of an 'afterlife', of some wonderful place where humans reside after death.
the bible claims that jesus was 'resurrected' after his death and then 'went to heaven'.

That is the eternal question. I found this interesting article on a documentary that goes more into the science rather than the religious or magical thinking.

Through the Wormhole: Is there Life after Death?
2011 Home » Science - Documentary 203 Comments
In the premiere episode of the second season of Through the Wormhole, Morgan Freeman dives deep into this provocative question that has mystified humans since the beginning of time.
Modern physics and neuroscience are venturing into this once hallowed ground, and radically changing our ideas of life after death.
Freeman serves as host to this polarized debate, where scientists and spiritualist attempt to define what is consciousness, while cutting edge quantum mechanics could provide the answer to what happens when we die.
It probably wasn't long after ancient people developed a belief in the afterlife that they began trying to contact those who had crossed over to the other side.
Necromancy, the term for such communication with dead souls, comes from the ancient Greek word nekromanteia, but the practice dates back much further than the Greeks. Egyptian and Chaldean magicians attempted to conjure up the deceased and speak with them, and God specifically barred the ancient Hebrews from engaging in the practice in Deuteronomy 18:10-11.
In the epic poem The Odyssey, Homer describes his hero Odysseus casting spells according to the instructions from the sorceress Circe, in an effort to speak to the prophet Tiresias and gain assistance to return home
Roman neuromancers believed that it was easiest to reach the dead in caverns and near volcanoes, which they believed to be passageways to the underworld.
