Maximus,
My first thought when I looked at the description of the 7/2 service meeting had to do with this in the second part instructions.
"Although some may want to pursue financial advantages, prestige, or comforts o life, the family examine the Bible to see what it recommends. (See Young People Ask, pages 174-5; The Watchtower, August 15, 1997, page 21, and September 1, 1999, pages 19-21, paragraphs 1-3 and 5-6.)"
It's just funny that they say to see what the bible says, and then only give WT references. Yeah yeah yeah, I know the WT's have scriptures in them, but it looks bad the way that this is put.

Here are a couple of the points that made me react the way that I did.
par. 7 - One young brother recalls: "I remember thinking to myself, 'How nice it will be to get to the new world and tell the faithful men of old that I served my years at Bethel, not outside making money.'"
OH F**K YOU!!!! I say this so bitterly because of what has personally happened to me and my wife the last year. This is the most insensitive thing that I have ever read! They are implying that everyone making a living outside of Bethel has nothing to be proud of.
par. 15 - ...Additionally, some brothers and sisters who may be a little older than 35 and who have specialized skills and training that could be used at Bethel are encouraged to apply. For example, these include dentists, doctors, certified public accountants, architects, engineers, registered nurses, automobile mechanics, or electronic technicians, to mention but a few. However, we do not encourage individuals to obtain specialized education or training with the thought that this will improve their chances of being called to Bethel. Those who have already received specialized training, perhaps before coming into the truth, may wish to write out a detailed resume and attach it to the Bethel application.
Oh man, there are a lot more things in this article that really get to me. This is such brainwashing BS! How can they honestly encourage young ones to have attitudes like these still?
Anyway, I'm just venting again. I really do appreciate this place.

Does anyone know if the current blood stand by the WTS has any bearing on this treatment? Are the things being discussed in this article blood fractions? Anyway, I'm clueless about this and am looking for any help.
Thanks a ton,

i'm going to ramble (rant) again!.
i am so sick and tired of hearing about this prophecy in the bible, and that prophecy in the bible.
i'm sick of hearing they were fulfilled by this person, that organization, some event.
I do appreciate you reminding of the "your father the devil" scripture. It definately warrants some more looking into on my part. But surely you recognize that if the bible "plainly says" something as you put it, it can not at the same time be a "classic paradox". I will certainly put this down as a good research point for sometime soon.
Thanks again,

Well in that case Deut. 32:6 says :
"Is this the way you repay the LORD, O foolish and unwise people? Is he not your Father, your Creator, who made you and formed you?"
He is the father of "foolish and unwise people", along with the wise.

Thanks You Know. I can't say that I agree with you, but I appreciate your bearing with me on this line of reasoning. I totally disagree in the two camps theory. According to the bible all mankind was created by God, and we are all his children. Some may not believe, or want to recognize this, but they are STILL God's children.
Thanks again,

You Know,
What is your interpretation of a "worthy one"? You keep using that phrase. Since all are imperfect, and all sin, why would one be more worthy than the other. If your defining worthy as a type of "heart condition", or someones attitude, why wouldn't God help to correct that attitude, not condemn ones for it? And why do you interpret it as bad for ANYONE to have the whole truth, even if they are unworthy, what would be the horrible consequences?
I'm not trying to put words in your mouth. What did you mean by "worthy ones"?
Thanks,

Would you respond please? I am just looking for some clarification as to the reasoning of your last comment here.
