years ago, i had a pet-hate bible story, and it was this one story that actually started me on the path to freedom from the borg-org.. it was the story of lot when he was living in sodom and the 2 angels visited (dressed like men of course).

The story of Jepthah's daughter (Judges 11:29-40) is also one of the bible stories that I hate. I read it in the KJV and it seems that she not only "never got any", she was offered as a burnt sacrifice (??)

Wow, the situation sounds so stressful and unfair. I wonder if your JW siblings would get a sense of satifaction that their shunning has caused you to be absent from even non-JW family events? The practice of shunning is so destructive, it seems to be about destroying the family, this abuse is so bad it has put you in the position of possibly depriving your non-JW family of your company. Maybe it is the JW family that should be excluded from family functions, not you, since THEY are the ones that are forcing this issue? Your non-JW family obviously still wants you there, maybe when you show up it will really highlight how unloving the shunning really is? But like you say, there are no simple answers to this, and you have to think about your emotional well-being above all else. Be kind to yourself and take care

for those who care.........my borther's lawyers had to go to an appelate court to try to get my brother out of jail.
the judge is refusing to even acknowedge their motion to get him out.
the appealate court said ok but the county sherrif has to ok it.
I'm sorry this is happening to your brother. This has to be a very stressful time for you all. Here's hoping you, your family, and your brother can hang in there while his lawyers work on his behalf.

Youch! Glad you're ok...though this made me giggle a bit I think squirrels are cute, but my husband absolutely adores them! Not being familiar with them, he watches them as if they were strange, exotic creatures. I have asked him not to feed them though, I'm afraid of Bubonic plague... you sure you don't want to get checked out by a doctor just in case?

as far back as i can remember, my dreams were always dark; there was no light of any kind.
i was always running away from something, but i could never run fast enough; i seemed to move in slow motion and others were always moving faster than me.
Sometimes I think dreams are the longings of my real self, something that that part of me uses as a reminder of the things I need to help me thrive during my waking hours. Sometimes they are simply a reflection of what's been going on in my life. Sometimes they are the source of artistic inspiration. They sometimes contain the answer to a problem I've been searching for the solution to. And sometimes they are just a bizzarre, meaningless jumble of nonsense (or are they?) But whatever they may be, I have always been facsinated by them. Do you write down your dreams? I have a big blank book that I use to write/draw my dreams, this is something I really enjoy doing...
