  Bethel responds to Muramoto on blood therapy

  bethel has responded to dr muramotos recent article in the british medical journal about the watchtower societys ridiculous teachings about blood abstinence.

  this response comes in a letter to the editor of bmj from the director of hospital information services in great britain, one paul wade.

  the reply is not only embarrassing for all thinking jws, it is disgraceful!

  Excellent answer Marvin! Bravo! I do SO LOVE a good volley return :) I have to believe that those poor brothers who were given the assignment of having to reply to Dr. Muramoto found themselves FLOUNDERING in double entendre's and mixed metaphors and hair splitting enough to fill the room with it..in order to say SOMETHING quasi-intelligent. They failed miserably. It is, indeed, embarrassing. But they probably didnt count on one of their "own", you, speaking out like this. Watch out brother...your file at Bethel just got stamped 'WATCH THIS ONE". :)

  This reminds me of the Society's Public Relations site that says:

  The public of course sees that there continues to BE family relationships as in the past when they read this...but WE know that the Society explains this use of the word "sever" to mean that the relationship, i.e. mother to son, cannot be undone. The public doesnt see that all other ties, emotional, physical, mental, spiritual...are indeed severed. If they could sever that last connection...they would, I guaranfrickintee it.

  Its mental masturbation...something the Society excels at.

  Rules for Baptism.....

  this is a spinoff from the "effective ministry" thread.. are the eligibility rules for baptism of a male candidate more tighter/tougher/stricter than for a female candidate??.

  i've noticed in the 1.5 years i was a jw of situations where a woman was given the green light and a male was knocked back even though they both were working fulltime.

  (they both were consistent in fs and both participated in the meetings).. anyone else experienced that?

  I DO happen to know a young brother who was turned down for baptism...he was probably 20 or so at the time, and they didnt tell him he couldnt get baptized until the day BEFORE he was supposed to be dunked. He was angry and mortified because he had relatives coming to it and everything. I dont imagine people let others know when this happens very often. For obvious reasons. He was so furious with the elders. Which, of course, only made them think THEY did the right thing by holding him back.

  She was a fine sister

  she was a fine sister with a history that went back six generations with jehovahs witnesses.

  her family boasted well over 1000 jw family members, many of which had high station within the organization.

  this proud heritage was marred by another fact in the familys history this sister had not disclosed.

Molestors love the Watch Tower Society...where else on the planet are they ENCOURAGED to "widen out" and splay their wears unabated and unhindered by such bothersome things as Godliness, Morality or Laws?

  being that we still have family in, i would like some assistance in starting out this task.

  i have so much already in mind, but after being on these board and reading about so many of you, i can see the strenght coming from you the beautiful way some of guys can write.

  This is a tough decision and only you can make this obviously. But if you want to reach people first, write a thought provoking and loving letter to ALL the people you would like to reach with what you know first, and THEN write to the elders. But do them within a day or so of each other as there will be those who will turn you in right away and they might DF you on the spot instead of allowing the disassociation. I mean if that is an issue to you. In the long run its moot because they treat you the same way. But I wasnt going to give them the pleasure of DFing me, nor did I want my name associated with that Godforsaken cult ever again...so I wrote mine.

  I sent several of them out...one to my mother in law who was married to an elder, and was a 25 year STOLID unmovable JW...and she was furious at me and lashed out and said to stay away from her family with my apostacy...but damn if she didnt keep that 9 page dissertation. And damn if she didnt start thinking about it...and damn if she isnt out now too.

  So you never know kiddo. And no...the elders probably wont read it...but then its not them you are trying to reach either.

  the elusive brother some and the watchtower society.. in brooklyn , they have for years been bothered by a shady and very mystical brother.

  they usually call him some.

  we receive constant reassurances from the watchtower that what is printed in the literature is the truth.

  It never ceases to amaze me that "Some" 3 million people all came to the EXACT same conclusion about the EXACT same year, 1975, at the EXACT same time. What ARE the odds? I say we track down this elusive Brothe Some and make him the Grand Poobah. He did have trouble tho, with that whole "will Soddom and Gomorrah be resurrected?" issue tho.

  The Society loves to point fingers...its what abusers do best. "Just LOOK at what you MADE me do to you!" "You brought this on yourSELF you know." "You are NOTHING without me, and no one else will ever love you." "Just try to leave, go ahead and try...I will track you down and KILL YOU." Sound like anybody we know?

  JWs and Alcohol Abuse/Addition/Escapism

  when i first started studying in 84 at the ripe ol age of 29, i was told oft and repeatedly that jws did everything in moderation, and nothing sinful or unbiblical.

  apparently, like everything else, they have added footnotes to the scriptures that say not to get drunk, as that seems to be their only "legitimate" (read, unregulated) escape from the reality that is the witchtrowel babble and trash sectciety.. there was one elder in my first congregation that reeked of alcohol even first thing in the morning at field service.

  i was told by someone "born in the truth" that he had a "body chemistry problem, whereby when he would sweat it would smell like alcohol, and he did sweat profusely...hence the reddenned face.

  How annoying is it for you to be reminded that alcoholism "runs in the family"? I ask because I am guardian of my grand-niece in part because of rampant alcoholism on her mother's side of the family, and a case or two on my side (her father's) as well. It is my not-so-humble-opinion that it would be better for her should she NEVER pick up a drink! She's only a pre-teen now, so what's your take on how I might handle this?"

  Well, the more you condemn it the more likely it will be that she will want to try it. Its inevitable really. And as a preteen she probably doesnt understand the whole inherited tendency thing. So, slow and steady as she goes :) I spent many nights going to the next town with my dad, having to stay in the other room while he helped my grandmother get my grandfather off the floor of the kitchen and propped up in a chair, then cleaned up, then put in bed. I wasnt allowed to watch this whole thing. But my fathers fear of alcohol stayed with me. He would have ONE beer and ONE cigarette each night before going to bed. I think it was his personal challenge to fight both things from becoming addictions. Hes like that. Now when I go to their home he and my step mom, they make a point of telling me how they "keep it around for guests, and have to dust the bottles off" making me feel bad about asking for any. Which makes me feel like they accuse me.

  Just dont push. Being informative is one thing. Not allowing her to make her choices, and use her brain is another thing. :)

  Bad memories

  hi everyone, i don't wanna dwell on bad memories, but i just wanna share one of my worst memories from school.. my brother was in the year above me, we had just finished lunch, everyone knew that we were jw's (not going to assemblies, nativity plays,birthday parties, seen in the field service....) we both walked onto the school field together to the whole school already on the field, stood in a line, clapping and shouting "jehovahs witness!!

  " at us, it was absolutely dreadful.. kids can be cruel............ anyone else wanna divulge??.
